Chapter 40 - Chpt 40 Glyph Inside A Glyph

When I was running I suddenly found that the place around me wasn't destroyed like the rest of the ruins, it had aged and was run down but there were no external damages

When I looked back I noticed the snake had stopped chasing me and hissed in the distance, it wasn't until then that I noticed the see through barrier that I had passed through

When I looked at the edge of the barrier I saw a few runes that I recognized along with a few that I didn't know about

I had been studying rune engraving and array setting from the Elari for an entire year and I've never seen such intricate runes before, one of them was a identity rune which activated or deactivated a function upon confirmation of someone's identity, but the design was much more complicated and seemed to activate by a certain genetic code rather than just a single person

Usually such a rune would be requested by rich people in the Lin Empire who wanted their storage ring to be accessible only to themselves, but to use it in such a large scale array to filter out beasts and allow humans in was unheard of

I quickly recorded the runes and continued to study them for the rest of the day as I set up camp inside the barrier, I had spent the entire next day searching for more runes and studying them, these kind of runes were extremely valuable to a rune engraver like me

At this point I was already near being an Expert rune engraver and only lacked the necessary experience rather than the knowledge to reach the Expert level in rune engraving

After searching for several days I finally found the purpose of this ruin, it had multiple runes made for purification of the water that flowed under the destroyed bridge

The river that flowed through this jungle was connected to the rivers in the Lin Empire including Black Marsh and Fenglo river

"but, the scale of these Runes would hardly be enough to purify the water in the river even if you gave it a thousand years"

I thought to myself before realizing something

"That's right! It's a Geo Glyph! It's so obvious now!"

In rune engraving there was a common practice of using glyphs, a glyph was a combination of smaller runes that shaped a larger rune which gave the larger rune more power

I had found practices of Glyphs all over the ruins but it never came to my mind that these Glyphs were all connected to a much larger Glyph called a Geo Glyph which was as large as the entire facility

After realizing this I found the broken Runes that had been damaged over the ages, by this time there were very few that were actually intact but it was enough for me to learn them and repair them

Since most of the runes were too difficult for me to fix I practiced making little engraved boats that were propelled using me weaved circle Rune, turns out this rune had a very useful function that I had found out after receiving the Elari Blessing

Now that I felt the slightest of differences in the Li I could tell that the friction caused by the opposing channels actually caused the Li to stabilize in it's surroundings

When I would get bored of practicing martial arts and fixing the runes I practiced making my double weave rune more intricate and tossing little boats into the river with voice recordings, I cringed many times looking back at how poetic I was at the moment most likely because I was going through puberty

After several months of fixing the Ruins and repairing the Geo Glyph I finally had managed to get it to work

The ground rumbled as a giant flood gates opened under the facility and water rushed under the facility and went through the purifier, although my ability to repair the Geo Glyph was limited it was enough to make it work again
