When I heard that my sister had returned I returned from the Black Marsh post haste to see her, I had been searching in Black Marsh for many days, and when I saw the white fur of a creature hanging off the shoulder of a human I had lost myself in rage and ordered my men to attack, luckily it turned out that it belonged to a snow fox and it wasn't my sister's
When a messenger came and told me the news I was filled with joy and we quickly flew back to Alte City in the south
When I had returned I was told that the Elari who saved my sister had left without saying anything and without accepting anything in return
Mother and Father said that we should not disturb his wishes as he didn't want to be bothered by our gratitude, but me and sister thought otherwise
I set up posters around the whole city and offered a great reward for anyone who has any information about him, after a year of tireless searching we had encountered him only a few time and each time he refused to comply with our attempts for gratitude
Without knowing it had already become harvest season and we still have yet to see him, Sister Lei says he is a foreigner and yet despite that he managed to fool all the royal guards for an entire year now
At this point I was thinking of giving up as unwilling I was I could not force myself onto others, I just wish he would give me the chance or tell me why he hid from us
Sister Lei had been crying every night thinking about him, she tries to hide it but I know how much she wants to see him, she says that she wanted to repay him and regrets letting him leave without even saying goodbye
But today I must not think of it, I must prepare for the Alder festival and the parade, I heard from my informants that someone was plotting against the Royal family and I could not let anything go wrong during the festival
After sending my orders to the city guards I had my servants dress me in the finest Elari clothing and groomed my Zare which was like a fox with antlers that I chose as my mount for the festival
I took my place in the festival next to father and ordered the guards to be vigilant, when we left the Royal court yard we paraded down the Royal tree with our beasts and musicians following behind
When the parade approached Darrow Street I had noticed the crowd had caused the street to be narrow and my guards which stood to my side had to fall back to give space
"No!!"
I heard a shout as I turned my attention to where a man stood tossing a spear straight at me, I had been unprepared at this moment as even when I used my full power I could not stop the spear for I felt some kind of interference from the spear that didn't allow me to slow it
When I thought that this would be my end a figure jumped forward and blocked the spear with his body
*puchi*
The spear pierced his stomach as his weightless body was launched forward and landed beneath me
I quickly jumped down and looked at the Elari who had saved my life and to my surprise it was the same one I had been searching for for this whole year
When I looked him in the eyes he raised his hand and touched the fur on my cheeks, his eyes were filled with tears, but the look on his face was like that of a mother who hadn't seen her son for a long time, a peaceful smile like he had completed his life's goal
"Guards! Quickly capture him!"
I shouted my orders to capture the assassin who had attacked me in a rage, tears flowed down my face as I quickly carried him back to the Royal tree to see the last of the Drui that resided there as Royal doctors
"Via!!"
Sister Lei upon seeing him screamed and burst into tears, the wound in his chest was ghastly and as far as I could tell the spear was laced with poison
When we arrived at the Royal Clinic the Drui shook their heads, they were helpless as the Elari didn't have anyone capable of healing such wounds as they have lost their healers above the Apprentice rank and the most they could do was apply medicinal plants to the wound
upon hearing this sister Lei fell down and I myself barely could stand straight, this Elari had saved us siblings twice now
"w-wait, I remember that he was a Drui too, maybe there's still a chance?"
Sister Lei said as she recalled that he healed her when she was poisoned
*snore*
"hamanamaa"
*snore*
"hamanamaa"
When we turned to look at him we heard him snoring as he lay on the stretcher, his wound had almost completely healed too
