"Logan"
The Silver grey-haired young man turned around to look at Archer who called out to him.
"Have they arrived?" Archer walked out of the vestibule towards the driveway.
"Archer" Logan greeted him with a smile. "Two of the first years have arrived. We still have two more left."
"What is he doing here?"
Archer pointed with his chin towards the red-haired young man who was standing a few feet before Logan gazing intently at the gate of the Academy.
"Well..." Logan began, "I asked him to head to the dormitory but he insisted on waiting for the other two to arrive. Said he's waiting for a friend."
"Never in all our lives, he got along with the Pink knight so it must be..." Archer narrowed his eyes.
"Yup, it's the black knight" Logan nodded with a smile.
Archer sighed after his thoughts were confirmed.
"Aren't you curious?" Logan asked without turning to look at the Blue knight.
"About what?"
"This generation's black knight" Logan had a gentle smile on his face as if he was asking it casually.
But Archer knew for he had the same thoughts.
"No matter their personality, I just hope none of the knights turns out to be their soulmate"
Logan was silent for a while. A gentle breeze blew past carrying away his quiet mumble, "I do too..."
Just then a fancily decorated carriage stopped before the gate. It was let in after the guard confirmed the identity of the person inside.
The carriage was drawn by two white horses and it was decorated completely in pink.
"Ah... Here comes the third..." Logan smiled wryly while Archer twisted his lips in displeasure.
"You should call Aurora..." Logan said helplessly.
"Here," Archer handed over a charm to Logan which had a single golden bead hanging from it.
Logan accepted it in reflex before examining it.
"Hey red knight"
Rubin turned around to look at Archer and raised an eyebrow in question.
"Here," he tossed a similar charm towards him which Rubin caught effortlessly.
Archer tapped the side of his forehead. "Shields the voice."
Rubin then looked at the pink carriage that just stopped before them and raised his brows in realisation.
"Ah, Thanks senior" he nodded.
When he turned back, he saw a young woman being helped out of the carriage by her attendant.
She was dressed in bright pink and even the male attendant was dressed in pink.
The three young men's lips twitched when they noticed that even the horses' mane was dyed bright pink.
"Hello, knights!" The young lady with strawberry blonde hair smiled brightly at them.
"It's been what? Two hundred years?" She smirked arrogantly.
"You know the etiquette, you should call them seniors" Rubin sneered.
Ava looked at Rubin in disdain. "What's it to you Red?"
She then smirked victoriously. "Are you waiting for your lost love? You do remember her soul has long been destroyed, don't you?"
Rubin clenched his teeth as he smiled viciously. "What's it to you if I remember or not? Anyway, I'm not the one at the bottom of the rank and I'm not the one who never found his mate."
Ava's face instantly flushed in anger and embarrassment. "You-!"
Logan cleared his throat stopping Ava's words.
Archer shook his head. 'She never learns,' he thought to himself.
Just then he noticed the gatekeeper rush out to open the gates.
Archer was surprised as he did not notice any carriage. The barrier surrounding the academy is strictly guarded and the guard only opens the barrier after confirming whether it was a knight present inside the carriage.
Just then a large black panther stopped before the gate, there was someone on its back but there was no need to wonder about who it was after seeing the panther.
The black knight nodded at the gatekeeper before riding her panther to where the four knights were standing.
She then stepped down and summoned back her panther, which disappeared back into her body.
"Demetra Winston?" Logan smiled as he stepped forward to welcome her.
Demetra nodded at Logan quietly.
"Now that everyone has arrived you can just head to the dormitory first. Classes start tomorrow since today will be an evaluation of your strength."
Demetra nodded quietly as she listened to Logan. The two senior knights noticed that this time around, the black knight is a very quiet soul. With half her face covered and dressed in all black, only her dark green eyes were visible as they calmly gazed at Logan.
"Now then, follow me, I will lead you to the dormitories" Logan smiled at them after he finished his instructions.
As the group headed towards the dorms Rubin walked closer to Demetra.
"It's been a couple of years, how have you been doing?"
Demetra turned to look at him. She nodded and replied "I've been good"
Those were the first words she uttered since she came here making the other three turn slightly to look at her.
"Really?" Rubin gave her a pointed side look.
"You worry too much" Demetra answered curtly making Rubin let out a wry smile.
"How can I not when you have a brother like that?"
"It'll do you well to remember that you are bad mouthing a professor red"
Ava's sarcastic voice cut Rubin's conversation, making him glower at her.
"She's right. Don't worry about me" Demetra responded calmly.
"You..."
Rubin was startled and stopped talking when Demetra turned and looked at him.
She was happy enough that he was her friend. She did not want him to get into any trouble because of her.
At that time Logan cleared his throat gaining their attention. "We are here" he smiled.
Demetra noticed that they had just passed in through the gates opening the road which lead to rows of mansions each separated by a huge space of lawn. Demetra could not see the last building even with her excellent vision.
"The mansions are arranged according to the ranks so Miss Xavier's quarters are located on the outermost while Miss Winston's quarters are located in the innermost."
Ava made a face of displeasure and before she could open her mouth to complain, Logan continued.
"If you have any complaints please change your rank accordingly, then your accommodations can be changed."
Ava just hmphed and walked towards the nearest mansion's gates while her attendant struggled to follow behind her holding her luggage that piled up from his arms to above his head.
Change the ranks? If she could she would have changed hers thousands of years ago.
The four other knights were responded with the gates slamming close onto their faces.
There was silence for a while...
"Now then!" Logan clapped with a smile as if nothing was wrong. "Let me show you both to your quarters."
Rubin and Demetra followed Logan speechlessly. Archer was long used to it so he walked behind the three calmly.
Rubin was ranked first among the coloured knights and third overall so both Demetra and his quarters were located far inside.
The physical strength of spectral knights far exceeds that of normal humans so the four quickly reached the mansion assigned to Rubin.
"Call for me if you need any help" Rubin reminded Demetra and looked reluctant to part with her.
Demetra just nodded back at him and turned around before walking towards her quarters.
Logan and Archer gave each other a look then led Demetra to her place.
Demetra was puzzled as the walk took longer and she was yet to reach the last two mansions.
Logan began explaining when he saw her confused look.
"Naturally you and the white knight's quarters are isolated from others."
Demetra nodded in understanding.
After walking uphill over a slope Demetra finally noticed two huge mansions that were bigger than the ten before.
Logan led her to the last building before handing over the key.
"As you know it's protected by the gold knight's barrier. And since the pink knight is here now, she will be in charge of communication."
Demetra nodded back, bade the two goodbyes before walking towards her house.
She did not care if it was large, she only cared if it was quiet. She did not want anyone to bother her.
Demetra gazed at the mansion after closing the gates behind her. This will be her home from here on for a long time to come.
