Stella glanced at Demetra and seeing she did not look surprised and remained calm, she continued with her lesson.
"The white knight after losing his mate went mad and ended his own life.
God took pity on the two knights and in the next reincarnation, he granted powers to ten more souls who form the spectral knights of today.
But the Heavenly God still could not overpower the God of death and the first black knight can never be reborn. The black knights that followed were still bound by the contract and lost their souls because of revival.
Because the soul remains unchanged in every reincarnation, all the eleven knights other than the black knight have memories of all of their previous lives.
Although there was a huge repercussion, the spectral order eliminated malice successfully in every generation. This is the seventh generation and the amount of time, every two generations are separated varies randomly depending on the amount of accumulated malice.
However, the break between two generations is constantly shrinking as a sign of malice accumulating faster as time goes on."
Demetra listened to Stella's account of all the previous battles before finishing the class.
Lindo was already waiting outside when the class finished.
"Let's first go around the campus and then get lunch, shall we?" Lindo asked as he rocked to and fro on his feet with a grin.
"Sure, it's a good plan" Aurora responded after Demetra nodded.
"Can I join?" Rubin interrupted them before they left.
Demetra and Aurora noticed Hazel who looked like she wanted to tag along as well but was too shy to say it. They gave each other a look and nodded in tactic understanding.
"We can bring along all of them" Aurora pointed her thumb behind her.
"Sure, the more the merrier!" Lindo looked visibly excited.
"You guys can go, I'm not joining you" Ava responded as she walked out of the classroom and crossed past the five.
"Well..." Aurora hooked her arm around Demetra's, "Shall we?" She smiled. She did not mind Ava and neither did the others so Demetra did not either.
......
Although Demetra did not talk much, her eyes were bright as she curiously looked around everywhere Lindo and Aurora took them.
The academy had an open atmosphere with just pillars lining up most of the outer walls from where the fresh green leaves of the trees planted outside blew in making one feel refreshed.
Demetra enjoyed the scene as they toured around the campus. Her eyes visibly sparkled and a small smile bloomed on her face, although a pity, it was covered by her mask.
Although the Academy teaches them how to use their magic and assesses their strength, they do not focus on them as all the knights other than the Black knight retain their memories from their past life. Instead, they also teach normal subjects of daily life and focus more on them.
Lindo was visibly happy when he took them to the greenhouse. The Herbal division often uses the greenhouse to grow many medicinal herbs and Lindo usually cares for them.
The three first years went to look around curiously.
Rubin was walking around looking at the different types of medicinal plants. Demetra found Hazel crouching before a cluster of lavender. A few bees were buzzing before her face and it looked as if she was conversing with them.
"There are a lot of flowers here, aren't there?" Aurora asked Demetra with a smile.
Demetra looked at the blooming peonies, the lotus pond in the middle of the greenhouse which also had lilies, the dancing dandelions and colourful roses adorning the borders of the greenhouse. She nodded to Aurora's question a bit absentmindedly.
Aurora giggled looking at Demetra's fascination.
"Let me show you something even more amazing" with that she pulled Demetra forward.
The flowers became more exquisite the deeper they walked and the darker the surroundings became.
"They cannot grow in harsh sunlight, the flowers wither easily. At least that's what Lindo told me."
Demetra noticed this part of the greenhouse was filled with trees, the foliage covering almost all of the sunlight and only letting them pass through in trickles.
When they turned around a corner, Demetra noticed the trees had left an opening in the middle. And on the space grew two flowers that even the power of almighty nature couldn't produce.
The dew drops on the flowers of the plants sparkled in the meagre sunlight making it seem as if they were glittering.
The black roses, dark in colour and bright blue roses darkened by the shade, glimmered in the light reminding one of a garden in a fairy tale. The roses were in full bloom making one mesmerized just by laying their eyes on them.
"These two are Lindo's most treasured children. Beautiful, aren't they?" Aurora smiled.
Demetra couldn't hear what Aurora was saying. She stepped forward, bent down and carefully touched the petals of the black rose.
"Beautiful..." She mumbled without being self-aware.
Aurora saw a few sparks of shimmering black emerge from Demetra's fingertips and surround both the plants. They then quickly disappeared into them and the plants shook gently as if they were expressing that they were happy.
Demetra straightened and stepped back. "Now they can survive even in bright sunlight," she told a stunned Aurora as she walked past her.
Aurora broke out of her reverie as soon as she heard what Demetra said.
"Lindo! Lindo!!!!" She screeched surprising all the other three knights to run towards her.
.......
Demetra left the greenhouse and headed in the direction of the dormitories. While walking through the corridor, she turned around a corner and came face to face with a person who had been missing since morning.
They both stopped walking and stood in their place. Demetra watched quietly as her brother's cold eyes focused on her.
"So you were here, follow me, we need to talk" Peyton folded his arms and pointed his chin towards his side.
Demetra quietly nodded and followed her brother.
After walking for a while Peyton walked into a separate room that looked like an office. Demetra remembered that the professors each had separate offices designated for them.
"Close the door" He ordered Demetra as soon as she entered.
Demetra did as she was told and stood near the door quietly with her head hung down.
"What is this I heard about you arriving at the academy on the back of a panther?"
Peyton leaned back on his table and adjusted his monocle. His light brown hair looked slightly windblown but his green eyes were dark and cold.
Demetra knew she was in trouble.
