Scotland, 1835

Thousands of giant trees thronged the wilderness of northern Scotland, under the light of a full moon, five silvery-white wolves faced off against ten blood-sucking creatures that glared at them.

Grant, the werewolf alpha, who had the largest body size, was at the front, leading the pack.

"A nuisance dog," growled one of the vampires in a long black robe. The appearances of the creatures were not much different from one another. They have blood-red eyes, clawed fingers, and fangs longer than normal humans.

One of the vampires raised a firearm filled with silver bullets and fired at the werewolves.

Scatter!

Grant's orders via mind link were immediately obeyed by his flock. The werewolves scattered so that the bullet shot past them and lodged in the tree trunk.

"Charles! I told you not to shoot recklessly!" snapped Viscount Oswald, turning towards his men.

Grant, what should we do? Adair growled. He bent all four legs, observing their enemy. However, Grant did not immediately answer. The white wolf was busy watching Charles. There were only two vampires who had pistols still loaded with silver bullets.

Adair, Blair, and Cailan focused their attack on the stupid vampire who had just shot. Darach come with me! Now!

Adair and his companions dodged the attacks of the vampires, who had thrown away their empty pistols and drew a long, thin-bladed sword with a black handle, which bore the symbol of a demon's head.

Charles fired at them repeatedly, but the werewolf's movements were nimble. The two of them ducked, even rolled over, until they finally managed to lunge at the vampire and bite off his head.

Grant ran side by side with Darach, dodging the sharp weapon attacks aimed at them. The creature's target was a suit-wearing vampire with hair neatly combed to the side.

His appearance was disgusting. Darach grumbled and caused Grant to be unable to contain his laughter. The vampire raised his gun and fired at Grant, but the creature quickly pulled away, until the silver bullet shot only inches away from his body.

Darach took the opportunity. He jumped to lunge at the blood-sucking creature from the right. However, the vampire swiftly turned around and cocked the firearm he was holding towards Darrach.

Grant acted quickly. Before the shot was fired, he managed to crash into the vampire's body. Bullets shot up into the sky, along with the death of the red-eyed creature.

"Back off!" roared Viscount Oswald. The silver bullet had run out, the chances of winning against the moon beasts who are blocking them from entering Scotland were now gone.

The remaining vampires moved quickly. They hopped on their respective mounts, then raced away following their masters.

Grants! Should we chase them?! Blair asked. The packs continued to communicate through mind links, set strategies, and followed their alpha.

The giant werewolf walked a few steps forward. He noticed the vampires had left the Scottish border.

No, what happens in England is none of our business, our job is just to protect this land. After that, the creature changed its form back into a human. The silvery-white fur that covered the body disappeared, replaced by a broad chest, six-pack abdominal muscles. The snout on his face shrunk along with his wolf ears and fangs, until what remained was the face of a man of about thirty years of age with a hard jaw and strong bone structure.

The other four werewolves followed the same thing. Each of them now took on human form.

"Where are our kilts?" asked Cailan. The blue-eyed man looked everywhere, looking for the traditional Scottish plaid cloth to cover his naked body.

However, it is different from Darach. He didn't care at all and just shrugged. "We don't need to wear them. The girls are still sleeping in the castle."

That answer made the other four men laugh. They remembered when the female werewolves screamed when they saw Darach walking without a single thread.

Grant reached for the kilt with the blue striped white symbol of the Faol clan that he had managed to find among the trees. He tied the cloth around his waist and shouted, "Let's go home!"

The castle belonging to the Faol clan was in the middle of a forest hidden among dense trees. Grant who is Alpha as well as Laird of his clan has for decades defended Scotland from vampire attacks after his father was killed by a silver bullet and followed by the death of his mother who could not survive without her mate.

Grant looked proudly at the building that belonged to their ancestors. A stone-walled castle that was three stories high surrounded by walls with wooden doors that were tightly shut.

After spending a few seconds observing, the man filled his lungs and then shouted. "Open the door! Your Laird has returned!"

It wasn't long before the sound of the engine pushing the door wide open was heard. Dozens of werewolves cheered for their Alpha's return, which brought victory.

Grant and his men walked through the empty field between the parapet and the castle with their chests puffed out. Several attractive-looking girls came out of the building and greeted them back.

Sighs escaped their lips as they stared at Grant, hoping to be chosen as his mate. However, Laird Faol ignored the longing gazes from the girls. His mind was still filled with how to protect his homeland from the attacks of the vampires.

"Laird, are the vampires dead?" asked a girl with wavy blonde hair. She looked at Grant with her charming green eyes.

Grant turned to the woman and smiled. "Right now they are running away, but we will kill them if they dare to set foot on our land again."

The woman's lips curved beautifully. She stroked Grant's muscular arm and muttered softly. "Thank you, Laird. You made my sleep better tonight."

However, the intimacy that occurred was immediately dispersed when Blair's muffled laughter was heard. The man walked closer and reprimanded the girl. "That's enough, Bridget. You also know that Grant will only be attracted to the mate the Moon Goddess has destined for him."

"We don't know, it could be Laird who hasn't realized that I'm his mate, it's happened before," Bridget argued in a fierce tone.

Bridget glared at Blair, who had an innocent face on, as Grant gently brushed her hand away. "Bridget, let us through. The fight just tired us out and we need a break."

A disappointed gleam flashed in Bridget's eyes. However, she still withdrew her hand and pulled it aside so his Laird party could enter the castle.

"You need to find your Luna quickly before the girls fight over you," Cailan whispered as he looked over his shoulder. "They're getting fiercer."

"Not interested." Grant snorted lazily. "It's much more important to get rid of the leeches."

Armed with that thought, Grant climbed the stairs to his room on the third floor to rest.

In another castle, hundreds of kilometers away from the Scottish-English border area, Viscount Oswald shouted angrily. He threw a goblet filled with a girl's blood onto the floor. "Fucking dogs!"

The eight young vampires stood trembling in fear. This is the umpteenth time they have failed to enter the plains of Scotland.

"My Lord, perhaps we should abandon our intention to enter the area and remain in England," suggested the black-robed

vampire, "the werewolves don't seem interested in setting their dirty feet in here."

The aristocrat intertwined his fingers behind his back. He then walked back and forth in his modern-style study. A set of animal skin sofas is in the middle of the room. A giant crystal chandelier reflected light on the ceiling. The desk was in the corner of the room, near the window which had been shut tightly by thick black curtains, and several shelves of books were leaning against the wall by the fireplace that was never lit.

"The royals have suspicions of missing the girls. We need another place to find new victims." The man grumbled. He had made the mistake of kidnapping and then killing two noble children, and now the reigning king ordered special forces to carry out an investigation.

Suddenly the door to the study opened and a beautiful woman entered. Her pair of red eyes scanned her surroundings, while the black hair on her legs swayed gently every time she took a graceful stride.

"Lord, it seems you need my help," said the female vampire in a clear and gentle voice.

"Emerald, My Love," said Viscount Oswald. He extended his right hand towards the woman. His facial expression softened. "Help me."

Emerald welcomed her lover's fingers. She then turned and smiled sweetly at the vampires, who still didn't dare to move. "You won't win if you only use muscles, they are much stronger."

"Emerald, don't add insult to injury," rebuked Oswald. He immediately gripped his lover's curly fingers tightly.

However, the woman in her 20s just chuckled. "Lord, let me take care of this. In a month, I will have their Alpha chained, kneeling before you."

"No way," whispered one of the vampires disdainfully. "What can you do?"

"Shut up!" Oswald snapped, glaring at that man. He then turned his head back to Emerald and asked, "What's on your mind?"

The woman smirked. "Before I became a vampire, I was a fortune teller, and I found an interesting thing that could be used to trap the dog."

Viscount Oswald tilted his head and looked at Emerald questioningly. The smile on the woman's lips grew wider, revealing a pair of fangs. "His Luna is the girl who will cause the dog's downfall."
