The healer in front of me looked at me with a very clear question mark in his green eyes. She's only slightly older than me. Her hair is black. I don't know how long because her head was covered by a white hood.
"I..." should I say I'm a beginner?
"You're not a novice adventurer, are you?" Said the Healer.
"Why do you think so?"
"You don't look like a novice."
"What do you mean? I'm wearing a novice's outfit." I didn't lie to her. Even when I didn't tell her the truth.
"Of course." She looked at the clothes I was wearing. "But somehow I feel you are not a novice."
This Healer's gaze seemed to be staring deeply into my soul. Trying to peel me from the outer appearance I'm wearing right now. I guess I have to go before she asked asks for more.
"Don't think about that. I just wanted to ask you a few questions." I say fast.
But she immediately cut it off again. "I can't see your level."
I cast a glance at her. Maybe my gaze was too sharp or something, the Healer immediately flinched and sat up straight in his chair. I immediately thought about it and the name and level of this healer appeared above her head.
[ Name: Maria ]
[ Class: Healer ]
[ Level: 27 ]
Only those stats appear because I only think about that. I don't want to know her other stats, yet.
"I also don't know why my level is not visible. I also don't remember why I was able to lie in the middle of the shadow forest before being saved by Princess Chaesara." I said.
"You were in the Shadar forest? And you were brought here by the princess. How lucky you are." Maria said. Her face and voice are flat so I don't understand what's the meaning behind those words. Is she being sarcastic or what?
The Menu Options instantly appeared in front of her and she chose a Skill. A green magic circle appeared below me and a green light enveloped me. Maybe this is magic to check if there is something wrong with my body. I've seen a Healer in my party do it before.
"There's nothing wrong with you. You weren't hurt at all even though you said you were lying in the Shadar forest alone." Maria looked at me with increasing suspicion. "It's true that you are no ordinary adventurer. It's weird."
"Can you stop suspecting me like that? I'm just here to ask a few questions. Or maybe you do it to all your customers too." I said, with slight annoyance.
"Of course not. I only did it to someone whose level I couldn't see." Maria replied. "And that kind of thing is very rare."
Maria, the Healer's eyes were still the same as before. Either she is curious or she likes to be suspicious of people she just sees.
I couldn't tell by her sarcastic tone. I just don't want to receive too much attention. Seeing as this situation is not very favorable, I decided to leave this place.
"Looks like I'll be looking for information somewhere else," I said as I stood up from the chair. "Thanks for your time. Do I have to pay?"
Maria shook her head. "No need. Because I was just checking on you."
"Okay."
I walked towards the door and could still feel Maria's gaze on me. She doesn't seem like have a very good attitude. Rather than staying here and getting more suspicion, I decided to just leave.
As I walk down these white paved streets my eyes wander around. I still can't stop admiring the fact that I've been thrown into the world of RPG Games by electrocution. What a wonderful way to cross another world.
Some people offer their wares. Food, accessories, clothing, and more. In the past, I only saw them as NPCs. But now they are looks like real people who make a living.
I also saw an Inn, which is where people or adventurers stay. The concept is the same as hotels in my world.
Then the place that always interested me in an RPG game appeared before my eyes. The blacksmith.
Again, my lips pulled into a smile as I stepped into it. At the far end of the room, a broad-shouldered man, with arms twice the size of my arms together, stared at me.
"Please come in and have a look. I can also make custom items if you can provide the necessary materials." He said in a deep but friendly voice. He smiled and his thick mustache spread to both sides of his face.
I just nodded and then started looking around. What is displayed here are weapons, armor, and various types of equipment. When I thought about it in my head, all the stats of every item appeared. This is so amazing!
"What do you think? For a novice like you, I have a good recommendation," said the blacksmith. "Oh yeah. You can call me Bran."
I turned to him. "Is that so? Show me."
Actually, at my current level, the quality of the items or equipment I wear doesn't matter. But what's wrong with trying a blacksmith's recommendation item?
Bran brought up the Menu in front of him, looked at it for a few seconds then grab a gray coat behind him and placed it on the table in front of us. I thought about it and the stats of the robe appeared.
[ Name: Gray coat ]
[ Grade: Common ]
[ Effects: +20 MP ]
Interestingly enough, for a novice's armor, this coat has pretty good stats. Wearing this coat can increase my Mana by twenty points. Plus low-level fire element protection. Even though the twenty-point increase in my stats had almost no effect on my current level.
"Okay, I'll take this," I said.
"Yeah, but... It was pretty expensive."
"How much?"
"One hundred gold coins."
As usual, I thought about it and a hundred gold coins as payment appeared in my hand.
Bran looks surprised but he grabs my coin with a big smile. "Actually for a novice like you the price of a hundred gold coins is very expensive," said Bran.
I put on this gray coat and a small stream of energy came through my body. The high collar barely touches the cheek and the length of this coat reaches my thighs.
"Nothing is too expensive for good equipment," I replied. If I was a complete beginner I wouldn't have bought this coat. But with the money I have now, it's not a problem.
"You have more? I think I need Vest, Hat, and most importantly Staff. Give me the best thing you have. Don't worry about the money." I said. With a big smile caused by excitement.
I always like shopping for equipment for a game. See how something could make you look cool and also Increased your stats.
I always admired the creative mind behind every design of every piece of equipment and weapon in a game. How can they make something so cool like that?
I can't wait to see what my rare, legendary, or artifact-grade items would look like. But for now, I can't possibly use that. Because I'm still a 'novice' adventurer.
And Bran wasn't just smiling this time. He chuckled, his eyes twinkling with joy. "As you wish, sir! HAHAHA!"
It didn't take long for all of that to come out of Bran's storage. I don't care about the stats myself. I just don't want to appear in beginner clothes all the time.
Actually, in my Inventory, there are still my previous items and both design and stats are very good. But if I wore it now it would be too eye-catching. At least if I wore the gear recommended for beginners by Bran, even though it's the best stuff for beginners, it wouldn't be too eye-catching.
The hat that I'm wearing is called [RED GRIFFIN HAT]. A red hat with feathers of the same color on the left. Gives the effect of increasing fire element attacks. The Vest, I'm wearing now is [BLACK LEATHER VEST].
As the name implies, this vest is black. Kind of a contrast to my white shirt. This vest protects from mid-level darkness elements.
It felt so right when I held the Staff in my hand. This staff is white with two gold ornaments each encircling the part near the base and the tip.
At the end was a blue gem that seemed to glow with a faint light. The staff's length is roughly my height. One hundred and sixty-seven centimeters.
"The staff can be shortened too if you want., said Bran.
And I did it right away. This staff can be shortened to a length of only one meter.
"Very good." I smiled contentedly at Bran. He also smiled in satisfaction when I handed him a handful of gold coins.
Now I already look like a character in a fantasy world. A Mage who prepares to protect the Kingdom with a princess. Hehehe...
Suddenly the door opened while I was busy admiring myself. A woman comes inside. Her hair was long and glossy black, the white dress she was wearing was dragging on the floor, her face was pale and she looked a little restless. He looked down as soon as he saw me and walked closer to Bran.
"Indira! why did you come with such a gloomy face?" Bran asked the woman.
With limp steps, the woman he called Indira sat on a chair in the corner of the room. Then sighed.
Then Indira pulled out the Staff which was shortened at her waist, lengthened it, then used it to lean on. The woman didn't say anything, just came in gloomy and sat in the corner.
"What else now ?" Bran shook his head. I looked at him then he said. "He's always there when things go wrong."
"I might just kill a whole villager," said Indira suddenly. My eyes widen hearing that.
Wait, what happened? when I turned to Bran, he just sighed and shook his head.
What happened ???
