Chapter 11 - A psychopath?

The cat was a good coach and I had faith that I would be able to do it soon. Even if I knew nothing, I was sure the body I now possessed could remember.

You could say I was lucky during the next few days of training. It all happened impulsively and I was shooting the targets.

I picked up my cat and turned around happy when I shot the target for the first time.

If I learned on my own, I would probably have spent dozen of days struggling without progress but thanks to the cat, I was able to do it.

After five days with the cat complaining to me once that our supplies had been exhausted and we had to leave almost immediately.

I was not scared anymore. There is a joy that comes with you being able to have gained a new ability and become a pro.

That dot I was scared of aiming at first, soon became a hole because I had shot it over and over that it got punctured to form a hole.

I put that ability to test when I went to get what I won in a bet with the competition.

The man I fought no longer scared me with the awareness I now had that all I needed to do was to pass out.

My cat took care of most of the deal. I had enough of some small balls the cat called a grenade and was ready to throw it if a trouble arises.

That was a terrible plan but please I did not do my military service before dying so I have no idea about what do with a grenade or more like I was willing to do anything at all reckless or not to take down my enemies.

The man was rude since he refused to agree to my cat's proposal. Now, what I wanted in the bet was money but the money I was going to receive from the man was in a large quantity but had lesser value.

My cat wanted him to give us the higher valued money which will be easier for us to transport as we move to the next state but he claimed that he had no obligation to do so and I was getting impatient with the guards he had around that looked just like him staring at us like animals about to slaughtered in an abattoir.

I placed my hand on the cold metal if the gun I held and inhaled as I tried to remain calm without pulling it out and making threats because we needed the money.

We had to go to the black market that same day. I stilled after shaking my legs impatient for more than an hour.

"You lost," I lost it too as I told the man with my gun now held in my hand but pointed downwards with my finger on the trigger.

Wait wait wait. So funny. I was the coward who could not shoot a target in the past but I am trying to threaten someone with a gun and I was not simply threatening them.

My cat had trained me miraculous within a few days into a psychopath that I have never been or perhaps that part of me had been lying dormant so the cat simply woke it up.

I have been testing my shooting skills on a target I destroyed completely and I felt that it was time for me to do it for real, like shoot my enemies after all, after all that was what I learned shooting for.

The man I fought with who was the bus looked at me and I towered over him despite the fact that he was taller than me.

Well, that was because he was sitting down. I was the small Asian looking youth who wanted to threatened an adult alien. Wish me luck.

I raised the gun and pointed it at his forehead but when I took in the atmosphere of my environment, I noticed that with the number of submachine guns pointed at me, it won't be a lie to say that soon I would be just like minced beef.

Yet, that gave me that type of courage that cowards get when they are faced with death and desperately unwilling to die.

"Your men might kill me but I will definitely be the first person to shoot," I told the man calmly although I could swear that every cell in my bone marrows were shaking in my bones.

"You only fought in the competition for the card once which means that you could get it in your next fight. You don't have too much time before that happens. You could win your fight and leave this state.

"We don't need to begin a fight that has no need. We will leave peacefully if you're wise enough to know that there is no need for this."

His cat snarled and so did mine. The tension that covered the whole atmosphere felt so thick.

The man's face became red but with his fist clenched, he signaled to his men to put their guns away.

"We do not to officially invite the federation into this matter since you know the punishment for breaking a vow, especially for a competition," my cat warned the man.

The man tensed visibly with the mention of the word "federation". Then I had no idea about what it meant in this world but I got to know as time passed.

He glared at my cat before moving his gaze to me. "Fine," he said raising his hands to signify defeat.

He nodded to one of his men who walked away but returned with an envelope. He gave the envelope to his boss.

The envelope did not look bulky at all so I wondered what was in it and my eyes remained fixed on it while not forgetting to keep watch until the envelope finally got to me.

My cat moved toward me as I opened the envelope and she climbed up to my shoulders to look at what was in the envelope.

"You get asked by the federation about where you got it from, don't tell them I gave you, or else I will tell them something too."
