Chapter 15 - I'm Chosing Death

"No, get me out! Help me! Alev!" Tina shouted as she extended her hand, reaching for help.

She looks hopeless in that current state and with only the Death who is still near her, but the Death just ignored her as he came toward Alev.

Alev was shocked seeing him walk with ignorance as nothing happened near him, even though he didn't expect that much from him would help in the human world, but it was annoyed seeing him that cold to her.

He knew that it was only himself who could save her, but the pain really made a nerve in his brain when he tried to move a muscle.

He feels trembling all over his muscles, even though he holds on, but the shake is not going to stop as he wanted. Likewise, he trembles not because of the fear of seeing the monster who is wrapping up Tina and going to eat her.

But, the trauma in his body after that impact is still shocking to the underdeveloped muscle he has. He knows exactly if his body is still a weak kid, but he still tries to move a muscle, even if it feels heavier after just taking one step.

The world around feels much slower as he sees the Death walking closer.

It is a subtle thing to say if he is just walking, it is rather much like dash, and it was pretty fast, so it would see that he looks like doing walks like normal when the world around is getting slower in Alev's eyes.

He looks at Tina in tears when the monster slowly opens up its mouth even wider, and is likely willing to swallow her in one swoop, but eventually, the time stops suddenly when he sees the Death become near.

Snap!

The Death snapped his finger and made a magic sphere that was enough to cover the two of them inside it, with the world beyond the sphere looking to freeze for a moment, and quickly he whispered something to Alev's ear.

Alev was shocked for a moment when hearing the Death word. His face looks gloomy with bulging eyes showing his reaction. He gave a glance at him as he didn't believe what was being told, but the Death just gave a smirk when looking into his eyes.

"..., as I said, you can get out of this forest's illusion if you use your energy to run there!" The Death said while pointing his finger showing which way was the direction for him to take. "That monster is only targeting the girl, and you know it! It is none of your business. You still wanted to live, didn't you?"

Seeing the smirk on the Death face really annoyed Alev for a moment, But he knew the word that came up from him was right, and he still wanted to live from the beginning the Death showed up.

He was somehow enticed by him as he was now subconsciously facing toward the direction that was still pointed by, he nodded in understanding while he gulped and tried to take a step, but it was much really heavier than he thought before.

He much more looks like a deadman when he really tries hard to make a move even an inch while the atmosphere becomes slowly a dead quiet, as he now can hear his own heartbeat ticking fast, and neither he can hear anything what word that comes from the Death again.

Thomp!

Something clicked in his mind when he took the first step.

He stopped his movement as he looked at Tina who was still in the same position, a glimpse of his memory comes up when he remembers similar situations like this have happened before.

"Brother!" a sound from a girl comes up in his mind.

Jumping into his memory, He remembers seeing his sister was kidnapped by a man while seeing the other kids lying dead on the ground beside him, he was the only one who was still alive, but he couldn't do anything much that time to save his surviving family.

He only knows if his hand couldn't reach her even if he can get up and that's why he was just still lying on the ground while crying hard cursing how pathetic he was, and that feeling of remorse still makes a wound in his memory as he now understands why it was really hard for him to run away from it, the feeling of his remorse is much bigger than his willingness to run.

Alev came to his senses as he gave a bitter smile on his face, realizing how pathetic he was.

'Why am I running? This is the exact same way as before! If I die, I will just reincarnate in this world, but she? She just only has one life! She deserves to have a happy life and grow old, it was the same thing my sister deserves. You're not becoming a soldier of fortune just going to be weak like this!' He thought in his mind as he showed sadness on his face.

He determined not to run from it as he put a step forward toward her. Furthermore, he pushed his limit steadily walking forward, meanwhile, his sudden change in his course made the Death look astonished.

"So that's your decision! Why are you so willing to help the girl?" The Death said while rubbing his chin, feeling curious about it.

"…"

"Why do you just give me silence? You could die, you know!" The Death said again while giving a frown on his face when looking at him much closer.

"Tch, I know that would happen, but at least this time I chose my death! Are you happy? I know you don't want to extend your hand with any matters regarding the human world, but heal me now, this would be my last resort and I will run as fast as I can when you break the spell." Alev responds while giving a cold look to him.

"What? Why do you want to run right now? I didn't get it." The death confused while looking at him with wide eyes.

"So you don't even want to give me a hand too, tch! You're a really heartless guy! That's okay then, I still can push my body to save her, just make sure to tell me if she can escape safely later" Alev responded while giving a bitter smile toward him.

"Hey wait!" The Death exclaimed, but Alev just ignored him as he still rushed walking forward, "I said stop, you worm head!" The death shouted as he gave a slap to him.
