Bluish lightning flashed on the sky phenomenally. The wind started to whirl around the hospital. The leaves of the trees were blown away by the wind with the flowers like rain. And everyone thought that it was a joyous occasion.
Kids were enjoying the harmonious sight. Lovers were walking hand in hand, casually taking pictures of the moment. Reporters hovered around the place, and men in uniform tried to scientifically gather information about the odd occurrence of the blue light.
"The age detector seemed to have broken, so far-- there were no other problems with your bunny. I'll prescribe a standardized nutrition diet for your pet, and occasionally visit me once every two months for a regular checkup," the doctor explained.
She nodded and carried Miku in her arms. She gently petted the excited guy who visited the mortal's world for the first time. She planned to take him out to explore, but the establishments here have rules against bringing pets. And before his vaccination, it should be better for them to go home and let him rest.
Cresencia was relieved when her aunt told her lightly about the malfunctioning age detector. It's normal for that machine not to work things out for Miku because a mere artificial intelligence can't count his age. Robots and devices might have existed to do human tasks better, but their capabilities are also limited.
Only mortals can manipulate their limited intelligence, yet it is still no match for living immortals. Miku might be a bunny, but his IQ surpassed everyone living on earth. Like other mythical creatures, he too can read and study like an average person.
"The vaccine might have hurt you--" she whispered as she put her veil on
She gently carried her bunny through the busiest part of the hospital's corridor. She brought the food supplements her aunt gave to stabilize her bunny's condition and avoid having fever after injecting the vaccine. There were also chew toys for Miku's teeth. And a soft gel medication if the bunny ever gets hurt through playing and jumping.
When they got home, silence engulfed the whole place. Even the servants were closely guarded on their posts as if they were statues. And the ambiance turned cold.
"Mom, I'm sorry, we're just worried--" when she returned home, she heard the distressed voice of her father, but she was wondering why he was not working in the company at the moment.
"You should have told us! We only have one girl in the family. Could you bear to let the child get hurt for political reasons?" the woman seated opposite her father scolded sharply.
"Cie, is that you?" her mother asked, as she noticed her presence
Cresencia could only show a simple smile and walked to them. From the memories, she knew who the old couple was. And from the reaction of her body, they should be very close to her.
"Oh, my poor baby, come and give grandma a hug, you have suffered enough-- ah, such a cute rabbit, is this yours?" her grandmother was surprised with her carrying a bunny.
"Hello grandma, grandpa-- yes grandma, this is mine," she answered lowly
"Antonio-- she has changed! My poor baby, she must have been hurt so much--" her grandmother teared up. She knows her granddaughter best because it was her who watched her grow up from a tiny little munchkin to a beautiful young lady
"Wife, people grow up and change, treat this as a good sign of waking up, come child, let grandfather see how you've changed so much! At once, I remembered you hate cute things--" her grandfather joked, but his words were valid.
"Shut up! You had no idea how the little girl grew up with her brothers forcibly-- she was alone. Her only choice is to be like them, and you can't embarrass a girl who also wants cute things and pampered like a princess," her grandmother argued. When Cresencia was younger, there was a tight comparison between her and her brothers. This comparison has contributed to her early rebellion, which was way earlier than the age of her brothers' rebellion.
Deep inside, she felt a different warmth, something too unrealistic for her. Having a loving family like them, she was surprised that her father gave her much luck in the mortal world. She never knew that this journey was not only an experience of having a loving family but a memory filled with warmth that she can call her own.
Cresencia spent her time getting to know more about her mortal grandparents. They ate and laughed all day long. The couple was very loving, but she could secretly tell that her grandmother was already suffering the third stage of cancer.
"Miku, should I help grandma?"
"You can create medicine for her, your highness."
"Oh, but how could I go back home if I cannot?"
"But your highness, you have the home space within yourself. We can go there again."
"Again? You mean--"
"Yes, your highness, I was sent into your space with you, waiting for your awakening, which took several years to complete. The space is also similar to our home back there."
"Miku, how do I enter it again?"
Cresencia felt her adrenaline rush because of Miku's good news. At first, she was still hesitant to use her knowledge and cure herself. But today, fate showed her a purpose to use her alchemy.
"Your highness, you could just imagine it, and we will be there."
"Really? Great!" her eyes twinkled like stars.
"If we could enter my space, I'll be able to look for pills that can cure me completely. I can practice medicine again and create drugs that will help my grandmother."
She closed her eyes and hugged the bunny. She was visualizing how her home looked. When the air started to change and become colder, they knew they were back inside the space.
"The space exists within my consciousness, but how long will it last, Miku?" she was excited to have her own space, but it made her think about limitations.
