Chapter 33 - Crazy Experimentalist?!

"Your father asked me to make these out of the cores he collected from his expeditions to protect the village. He was my friend. I miss him dearly, but he would not have wanted to see you girls mourn over his loss. He sacrificed himself to save us, so mourning him will only lessen the impact he made to protect us.

"So, cheer up. We can get through this and make things right again. The first step to that is the decision for the next village Elder. Or heir." He said, looking at the girls expectantly. Seemingly knowing what he implied, the blue-haired cat girl stood up and slammed her hand, or should I say paws, on the table.

"Are you saying that one of us should assume the position of village elder?! We are only seventeen years old! There's no way that we can run the entire village effectively!" The blue-haired girl said.

"Calm down, Alisia. I'm sure he did not mean we would rule alone, right?" said the red-haired girl, a calm and reasonable temperament in this situation, which I think is very mature of her. Hearing this, Argas nodded in confirmation.

"Rachel is right. Although you are the rightful heirs to the ruler of the village, there will be advisers to help you rule with the fair and just rule. This is something that was thought out before you were able to walk, as such is the jewelry presented to you now." Argas stated, relieving the blue-haired girl, whose name is revealed to be Alisia, greatly.

The only one who has not spoken up about this is the green-haired girl, who is usually the one who talks first. As she was turned away from me at this moment, I could not see her facial expression. I assume that she is deep in thought by her posture though, in which she was sitting with one hand resting under her chin.

"How are the people of the village going to decide who will be the next leader? Will there be a vote or what? If there is no fair vote or anything like that, I would like to be the one who rules the village. Any objections?" the girl with green hair stated arrogantly. My opinion of her changed from a bratty child to a mature, arrogant, bitch. Thinking no one would object, she confidently smiled, until she saw Argas shaking his head.

"Madaline, there is going to be a fair challenge, but it will not be in a vote. There will be a series of challenges over the next year until all of your 18th birthdays. This was also a decision made by the village advisers, Gallen, and I. The challenges that will be given to you will be different for each of you.

"Each challenge will focus on what you need to improve upon based on your current attitude to others and your responsibility. Some challenges will be harder for different people, so be sure to give it your all and grow up to be mature adults." Argas said with a smile. The plan itself was a very good one. There are no immediate flaws that can be pointed out. The only problem I have with it is the attitude of the girls that are participating in the challenges.

The challenges could be attributed to their flaws, but their personalities might not allow them to overcome them. Argas and the rest of the mysterious officials might have not accounted for this, so it might backfire on them to make their personalities worse when they find out what people think their flaws are.

However, for my next plan to work, I must give the benefit of the doubt to Argas, because I need them to be ready to lead by the time I get back. Sadly, I will not be here to see them grow up, but that is even better. I have been with Argas enough to know that he will take care of Gallen's daughters like his own.

Reassured, I retracted my copied eyes and ears back into myself, I realized that being in this village for about 3 months ST, which is like a couple of weeks in HT. rolling back down the hill, I did what I thought I had to do while spying on the daughters.

Rachel, the red-haired girl, Alisia, the blue-haired girl, and Madaline, the green-haired girl, all should grow up to be good leaders because I observed that Argas was a good father, and would most likely be up to the task of raising a new ruler for the village.

Anyways, rolling down the street towards the village square, I noticed that no one was outside. This must be because they were mourning the loss of their village Elder. Not important right now, for I have to collect all of the spores that I used to Imprint the town.

Trying to make a siphoning effect with my retraction of the spores, I felt a lot go into my body much faster than before, and they did not grow my size at all, just my mass. This must mean that not only did the Excel evolution speed up my transformation and speed, but it also helped with speeding up the absorption process.

However, I started to notice people finally coming out of their houses. They must have slightly gotten over the leader's death and knew that he would not have wanted them to mourn his death and live in peace. Anyways, this is very helpful for me to execute my idea.

In the meadow, I began wondering how I would be able to control the daughters of the chief, and had the best idea to do so. I could implant my spores in about every house, slowly letting invisible spores into the air, making the inhabitants breathe them in and infect them. The only problem with this is how I should control the deaths of the villagers.

That will be remedied by me controlling them remotely, when I can rest for the night and switch my conscience. How will I be able to do that without having part of my body here? I will implant a massive mushroom, sort of like a cell tower. This will allow me to control the airborne spores from those towers from far away, as my rank for that particular skill was extremely high.
