Chapter 35 - Homicide?!

Although I could easily use my spores to find out what was in this room, which I did use to find any traps, they were only sensory spores, not image or object spores, which were imprinted with a different action.

These imprinted the actual shape of the object and did not sense what objects were where and what they were not able to sense, such as magical traps, or any magic at all. I hope that my skill could get even more powerful, which would probably allow me to sense or even disable magical traps, which would be even better.

Anyways, with me swinging my composition again, I got enough momentum to swing myself to the other side of the door. Waiting a couple more minutes to maximize the swing, I finally let go at the greatest potential energy place, which flung me straight over the sensor and into the room.

Curious about what was in the womb, I re-materialized my eyes and ear, which I had to get rid of to get to the compressed state I needed to swing over the sensor. Not wanting to think about doing the same frustrating thing again, I looked at where I was and what was around the room.

Now that I had Beastkin eyes, I could see so much better than I even could as a human. Seeing in the darkness of this room, their were many furniture sets. Like in Argas's bedroom, their was a desk, a dresser, and a clothing rack. Although Argas did not have a clothing rack and had two dressers, the dresser and desk were both the same.

The only thing that made this room different were the dead bodys of monsters that I recognized. Their were empty carcasses of Stomp Hoppers, Alter Hounds, and Tankasauruses. Although the first two were relatively easy to find and kill, I have not seen a carcass of a Tankasaurus.

Another thing wrong with this scene is that instead of writing utensils on the desk and clothes on the clothing rack, their where dead bodies hanging from the clothing rack and one laying spread eagle on the desk, blood congealing around the body on the desk and dripping from the bodys on the clothing rack.

Beastkin bodies.

Artificial eyes widening in surprise, I took a closer look at the body on the table. It was a male dog strain of the Beastkin species. Its chest was cut open delicately and had many of its organs removed, making his lower stomach a bowl.

What was interesting is that there were many bottles with what I could assume were pickled intestines and body parts, only they were not human. Looking back at the monster bodies, they also seem to have most of their internal body parts missing.

The most obvious conclusion about this is that the owner of this house dissected the monster carcasses that were most likely left by the fighting force to use as experimental test subjects, which would explain the pickled body parts.

The other conclusion I made is that the owner also implanted those body parts into the Beastkin that he had either murdered himself or, most likely, hired someone else to do it for himself. What would really be crazy if he had connections with people who would willingly kill people for him.

If anyone saw this situation they would most likely think this man was insane or a homicidal killer, but what I see is a scientist, albeit an extreme one. Just like any other scientist, they always do their work for innovation or advancements.

That is most likely what this man was trying to do as well. In some sci-fi stories, there are scientists or inventors that sacrifice lives to enhance the future generations or the present day with implants or equipment. There is not much wrong with this situation, at least that I know, but I don't know much because the rules have never been explained to me, and I killed the person who most likely wrote them.

Anyways, I checked the bodys on the clothing rack, which were in brown leather bags, which were soaked in blood. I don't know if it was real leather, because I have not seen any cows or any other sort of farm animals, but I don't think that is the issue right now. Turning away from the gory scene, I looked around for the utensils used for the dissection.

Obviously, they needed big tools to cut open the Tankasaurus and other monsters, but they also must have small, delicate ones for the Beastkin anatomy. Searching around the room, I found a drawer in the dresser then had a box in it, when I opened it, I found some small scalpels and other surgery tools, and in the drawer below it were the bigger tools, like a pizza cutter, looking saw, which serrated edges.

Bringing them over to a non-bloody part of the floor, which was hard to find, I set all of the tools down on the floor so I could Memorize them. As soon as I started with the scalpels, time flew by in the blink of an eye. Not a long time later, I finished memorizing all of the tools that the advisor used to do whatever he was doing in here.

Now all that's left to do is plant my spores. Rolling along the ground, I figured that the only place that he would not think to look unless he dropped something, which would be under the dresser. There was just enough space to implant some of my spores and have room to grow.

Condensing some of the spores in the air, I made one big one in hopes that it would grow big enough for me to move my consciousness. Lowering it down to under the desk, I mentally activated the skill . Seeing that the skill worked and was advanced enough to make a bigger mushroom than when I first got it, I also noticed something else.

The speed of the mushroom growth used to be 5-6 days, but the skill has advanced before the evolution to one day. But now, after the evolution, I saw signs of it immediately growing in real-time. It was something out of video games, and something I would have been stunned with if I had been back on Earth.

Planting another few around it in case one of them died, I thought of what someone else would do. They would most likely try to stop the testing of these officials or even kill the experimentalists. However, this might be a crucial part of the village, probably because they were scared that the Great Apes would come to the village again, and they would not be strong enough to fend them off.
