Chereads / The Unstoppable Trio: Book 1 / Chapter 33 - A Leader

Chapter 33 - A Leader

In simple terms, Gagan was scared.

He was neither a fainthearted nor a shy person, if anything, he would say that he was a person that would face any problem head-on even if it was beyond his capabilities.

But Grandfather Carl was a very dangerous person.

Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't, but that's what Gagan thought, because he would find anyone who was smart, cunning or any of those shenanigans, more than Himu, to be dangerous and scary.

"Gagan," Carl said, looking in the overgrown child's eyes. "Himu told me that you kids are playing a new game, what is it about?"

He knew all about it and stuff, there was no way Gagan could explain anything better than Himanshu but even he liked to spend time with his family, no matter how big of a businessman he was.

He might not know much about raising a family, but he was a businessman, and a successful one at that because he was a keen discerner of others' true nature.

He had tried his best to be a good father, and the result was that one of his daughters killed the other's husband, while the other found smuggling gold a lucrative business.

So, right now, he was trying his best to be a good grandfather, he had even stopped discriminating between his daughter's and his adopted niece's children, well... as much as he could.

Gagan explained everything to the best of his ability. Carl was surprised to find out that Gagan's story was almost as good as Himu's, yet it felt better to listen to.

Other than falling in love, this was one of the few times he felt confused. Yet, he was enjoying the moment, so he decided to think about it later.

Gagan thought that, since he was here, he might as well ask his grandfather for advice about making the guild.

Carl went around the table and kept his hands around Gagan's shoulder, "Son, listen, I don't know much about this game world you talk about, but I know one thing. You, Swara and Himanshu, together you three can do anything. So do it, be the leader your friends want you to be." He smiled.

It was a genuine smile, he seriously wanted his grandson to do it, and it wasn't because he found it to be a profitable venture, definitely not, he wanted him to be a leader to know the joy and responsibility of being a leader.

Gagan also smiled, having forgotten about his fear when he excitedly started telling the old man about the fun he had and the beautiful world.

He left the room happily after Carl told him that he had work to do now. It felt nice to both the men to have spent time with each other. Sure, he still felt that his grandfather was a scary man, but maybe less scary than what he thought before.

After he had left, Carl called his secretary and friend Jinhai Wang since their time in the Hidden Chaos (the secret society of assassins and stuff), "Hey, I know you have already done it, but can you check the guys at Gagan's gym, don't just check if they have been in contact with any of my enemies, I need you to also make sure that none of them bear any ill will towards my grandson."

"Sure, it's not like I can say no to an order from the boss, but I'm on a mission right now, so later. Black Cat Out." His hologram wasn't visible but Carl knew that he would be in his Black Cat stealth outfit.

"White Crow out." Jinhai cut the call as soon as heard that.

{Maybe I should have a talk with little Himanshu.}

Then he started reminiscing about his days at the hidden, peaceful place.

The Society had always had three rules:

1. If someone puts a bounty on the head of a student, a member, or a previous member of the order, you kill the offerer.

2. Fights are to only take place in the Green Arena, with a chosen time slot selected by the Principal. Weapons are allowed. Killing is not allowed.

3. Keep the place clean.
