As a portal closed behind Kenos, everyone looked at him. He looked back confused, it was as if he had done something wrong. Elias and Nichi diverted their attention back over towards themselves while Yuzui walked over towards him.
Yuzui: What the hell took you so long?
Kenos: The line was long, I got some food.
He put the bags on the table, as Elias and Nichi walked towards them.
Elias: Hey Ken, what's so bad about the guy we were running from?
Kenos looked coldly at Elias as if he had said something taboo.
Elias: Look I just-
Before he could say a word, Yuzui grabbed his arm as she had noticed a cut on it.
Yuzui: How did this happen?
Elias panicked for a second.
Elias: I-
Nichi: He fell outside and scraped his arm.
Kenos walked around him. His pupils lit up as they turned yellow.
Kenos: I know when someone lies....some people. What happened?
Nichi and Elias stayed quiet.
Kenos: This wouldn't have to do something with that question you asked...would it?
Elias heart raced as he didn't know what to answer. As he took a second to breathe he calmed down a bit and decided to tell him the truth.
Elias: He was looking for something we found in the house next door.
Kenos looked at him dead in the eyes, his gaze felt as if his soul was being judged just from saying those words.
Kenos: What did he want?
His voice was a lot raspier than before.
Elias: I- it looked like an emblem in the shape of a star.
Kenos: W-
A noise was heard outside and before anyone else could even do anything, Kenos had already pulled a Halberd out of thin air. Without a knock the door opened as Nahe and Kitsune ran in.
Kitsune: Ken, I know you don't trust us but something's wrong!
Acheron then walked in behind them.
Kenos: You have some nerve showing up like this...
A portal opened behind him and in a split second his Halberd was knocked out of his hand by an axe that flew in.
Stella: Something new showed up, something I couldn't hit.
Kenos looked back and with a cold stare summoned the Halberd again.
Stella: I'm not here to-
Kenos rushed at him immediately but as he approached Stella grabbed his face and threw him into the ground.
Stella: Listen to me!
Kenos was unable to get up as Stella stepped on his chest.
Stella: Something is on its way to destroy us, something that I couldn't hit. Now if you don't listen to me, we'll all die.
Kenos: Look who's trying to be the good guy now.
Stella: This is what I was trying to warn you about, but you didn't wanna listen!
Kitsune: Don't hurt him...
Nahe: Listen, whatever that was knows we aren't far.
Acheron: Let's move somewhere else so you two can fight, I kinda don't wanna die yet.
Elias was starting to get a headache from everything. Everyone kept talking and Stella and Kenos kept fighting he got angry. The room was filled with everyone's voices, and he couldn't take it anymore.
Elias: Alright, enough! Let's just get out of here, and we can sort our differences later!
The room went quiet as Kenos sighed in frustration.
Stella: He's right. Ken, we need a truce...this is something out of everyone's control. We need to assess the situation.
He reached his hand out to Kenos, so he could stand up. Kenos reluctantly took it and stood up.
Stella: Let's go somewhere far from here.
Stella snapped his finger to make a portal but nothing happened, he closed his eyes as if he was uncomfortable as he grabbed a flip-knife from his waist. He made a cut in his hand and as blood poured out it disappeared into thin air. Nahe was confused since Stella had told him that Telum users didn't bleed but didn't say anything.
Kenos: What are you-
Stella: We'll talk about this later.
He snapped his fingers and a portal appeared. Everyone went through it and saw a vast ocean in front of them. As Elias looked around he noticed a house sitting near a small palm tree.
Elias: Where exactly are we?
Stella: This is an island right in the center of the Equator and the Prime Meridian if viewed from a world map.
Acheron: Huh?
Stella: Right next to Africa.
Acheron: Ohh. Right or Left.
Stella: ...left.
Kenos: Ok but, why here?
Kitsune: It's secluded, no one can reach us and no one knows it's here.
Yuzui: How exactly has no one explored this?
Stella: There's a phenomenon here that causes people to forget it exist once they leave it. You only remember what happened here if you step foot on it again.
Nahe: Then how do you remember it?
Stella: I... I have something that makes me remember anything in perfect detail.
Kenos: And how exactly did you get it?
Stella: It's not worth it, any bad memory will only be a pain to endure if you remember...it.
He closed his eyes uncomfortably again. With his eyes still closed, he said "Listen, go acquaint yourself with the house. I'll be with you in a minute." Kitsune grabbed his hand and stayed next to him.
Kenos: Let's talk about everything later, I'm willing to hear you out this time.
Stella gave him a thumbs up and walked to a little port at the edge of the island as Kitsune followed. Everyone went inside the house to get to know it, everyone except Elias and Nahe who had some questions. The two agreed to follow Stella and Kitsune and as they arrived they saw him grabbing his head in pain.
Nahe: Um, sorry to bother but, we need to ask you something real quick.
Stella wiped his face as if cleaning it from something.
Stella: What's up kid?
Nahe: Didn't you say that Telum users couldn't bleed?
Stella: Ahh, I didn't quite explain it well. We don't bleed when we have our Telums out.
He put his hand out towards them.
Stella: As you can see my hand is still recovering from that cut.
He summoned his axe with the other hand.
Stella: And now you see that it's just a starry void. Not every Telum user's...void looks like this though.
Nahe: Oh, now I get it. I imagine it would be lethal to dismiss your Telum if you've been hit and cut a lot.
Stella: Exactly.
Kitsune: It's something to keep in mind if you ever develop one, it could really save your life.
Nahe gave him a thumbs up to signal that he understood.
Stella: Elias, what did you need?
Elias: Where's-
Stella snapped his fingers and only him and Elias were moving.
Stella: Let's talk about that some other time... please.
