All young Valerie could hear were sobs.
She blinked, looking around to observe her surroundings. It seemed like she was attending a funeral, the scene eerily similar to when her parents had died. Yet, she somehow knew that it wasn’t the same procession.
Despite not knowing exactly what was happening or where she was, she knew that it was someone close to her that had passed. She curiously peeked over into the casket and true enough, she saw the ashen faces of her parents, dressed in garbs that were out of time.
Where was she? What was happening?
The last thing she recalled was walking around the village with Kai. He had cleaned her wound and changed her bandages before lulling her to sleep. Was this a dream, then?
It would certainly explain the weird clothing of the attendants.
