A week has passed since Mors started his Foundation Arc. His days were composed of hunting wolves and deer, also the occasional horn rabbit when his current horn breaks. In this week of hunting, he earns a total of 63 fate points.
Saving his points to buy a sword so his hunting can improve. With better hunting speed he can use the fate points from it to improve his stats. If he ever needed it new martial skill he can just practice the many martial art lores he has memorized.
In that week as well, he went from rank 2 to rank 3 Mortal, his [Emperor Sword Dance] reach rank 2, making his dance deadlier and more beautiful, while also increasing his rate of cultivation. His body stat increased by 10, his mind stat by 11, and his soul stat by 13, all from his hunting and cultivation.

He looks over at the event tab on the fate point shop. Some of the things in here could boost his training speed. But like with talents, the cheapest was 1000. Hell, don't even get him started on the treasure tab.
" 5000 points for an Elemental Monster Core!? Ha, I have better change finding one in the wild than buying that."
He said to himself as he bites into the cooked rabbit he is holding. He just got back from getting a new horn and is enjoying a nice meal before setting out to hunt. If he had the talent of earning stat points from eating monster then this would have gone by way faster.
But such a thing probably cost more than [Heaven Child]. He spends the next few minutes eating the rabbit, enjoying its taste and sense of fulfillment from it. After eating and throwing away its bone, he grabbed his new horn and set out to hunt more monsters.
He is not even halfway through the Mortal Stage, but his stats were already looking good. He walks carefully, pushing aside tree branches and heavy bushes. He has reached the deep part of this forest, the monster now having the average rank of Mortal 3-4. Monster of rank 3 he could easily beat with his superior martial arts and stats. But rank 4 monsters prove to be a tough fight, while he will win, it's not as easy as a rank 3 fight. He wanted to avoid rank 4 fights at all cost, but after seeing the leaps of improvement he gets when fighting stronger opponents, he decided to take those fight if his percentage of winning was 90%.
He continues to walk and soon the sound of a fierce battler enters his ears. Hearing this hook his curiosity as he slowly with stealthy steps made his way towards the sounds. He reaches the edge of a clearing, hiding his body behind a heavy bush, he peeks from the other side. His eyes went wide at the sight in front of him. Two large groups of monsters were fighting each other, one group was made of lizard-like monsters, all having red scales four short legs, and a long tail.
Called red lizard. The other group was the black wolf he has grown accustomed to fighting. In the middle of this bloody battle between the two groups, where large monsters, one of them is a large lizard with red fiery skin. Every time it breathes in and out fire will come out of its nose. The other monster is a large wolf with black fur, with silver stripers, with two large black horns decorating its head.
'A Fire Salamander and a Lighting Wolf?!'
Mors recognizes these monsters as the mini-bosses of this forest. Having gone through a self reforming themselves, they are extremely powerful monsters, with the potential to drop an earth stage treasure.
Useful to improve his body and stats while at the Mortal Stage, after this stage the treasures these monsters will give won't be as useful. What is not surprising is the monsters, he was expecting to see mini-bosses as he goes through his arc.
What is surprising is that they are fighting each other, in the game mini-bosses did go outside their territory unless there was a special event going on. Even then they did not fight each other. Mors stays looking at the bloody monster fight for a few more minutes, breaths of fire escape the Fire Salamander mouth, killing tens of wolfs.
The Lighting Wolf will rain down lighting from the sky, killing as many red lizards. The mini-bosses seem to be around rank 5 Mortal while the normal monsters fight with them at rank 4. He started to walk the other way, there is no way in hell he can join that fight and win. Hell, even fighting two ranks 4 Monsters were hard, fighting a whole army of them plus their big daddies? No way in hell, not when he still doesn't know the meta of this game.
He continues to walk for 2 hours, long having left that battle behind. Thankfully the fight between those monsters seems to have scared away other monsters, making his walk very peaceful.
"Fucking hell, can some just come up and fight me?"
He did not like wasting time in his foundation arc, he wanted to grow as strong as possible and breakthrough to the Warrior Stage. But almost like his prayers were answered, he heard the sound of voices.
This put him on high alert, even if the other voices originated from humans, he knows that evil cultivators won't pass on the opportunity to bully him and show their strength. There is the so-called "Young Master" in this type of setting, being able to avoid such people as much as possible in this beginner stage was for the best.
Once he gets into the Warrior stage, he can a bit leeway in confronting such people. Of course, if the voice came from a spirit or a goblin, a fight will break out no matter what he did. The three sentient races were in a constant state of war with each other. Only helping each other when a much bigger force presented itself. Seeing a nearby tall tree, Mors started to climb it, slowly reaching the thick branches of it as he lay in waiting, ready to kill whoever it is.
------
A group of 4 goblins holding wooden spears with metal tips were following their leader, a tall green color man holding a sword and wearing leather armor. This is man is of the race [Hobgoblin], having the blood of Hobgoblins in his veins since birth allows him for a fast reforming into a Hobgoblin.
Gu Ah's fast growth impressed the senior cultivators in his sect, giving him extra resources to increase the speed of his growth. But he is not the sole talented Goblin in his sect, there are countless others with similar talents or greater than him. As such he took a small number of goblins and set out to the Rotten Grove to continue his cultivation.
Goblins had different cultivation techniques than humans or spirits, they thrive off battle and blood. Getting stronger the more battles they have, while spirit cultivates in peace, and humans being a mix of both. This forest was full of monsters of a similar level to Gu Ah as such he will be able to cultivate in relative safety.
Of course, after that he will go ahead and hunt the ruling beast of this forest, growing even stronger. As the small group continues to move, Gu Ah passes by a large thick tree. Similar to the many other trees he has walked past.
But as he walks past this tree, a sensation of danger went up to his spine. The blood lust of something was directed right at him. Seeing no other creatures around, he looks up only to have his eyes lock with someone else.
On top of him, a human male, covered in scars and with tannish skin was falling towards Gu Ah. In his hand was a small horn, his clothes old, dirty, and bloody. Gu Ah's first action was to dodge out of the way, grabbing a nearby Goblin by the neck and throwing it towards Mors.
As the Goblin took the place of Gu Ah, the sharp horn in Mor's hand pierce its head. Under the force of gravity and the weight of Mor's body, the neck of the Goblin bend in a weird way. Its body soon crashed on the ground.
Blood and brain matter paint the green grass under it. With one less Goblin, the remaining 3 Goblins ready their spears. Gu Ah ready his sword as he slashes towards Mor's neck, not wanting to let this human stand up. Mor's sensing this pull the horn out the dead Goblin body and roll away from the strike. The sword soon finds itself striking the dead Goblin's body.
Mors slowly stood up as he looks at the four Goblins in front of him and speaks, in a somewhat arrogant tone.
"Ah very well, you manage to dodge that"
"Human…I don't know what you want but, I, Gu Ah won't let you walk out of here alive!"
"nice to meet you Gu Ah, but I won't have such confidence. I already won this battle"
"How? Care to enlighten me?"
"It simple, I am simply better than you"
He points his horn at Gu Ah, a simple smile on his lips as he continues.
"Now let's dance~"
Gu Ah could not help but laugh at this human, was he crazy? How dare a human think he is better? Gu Ah is destined for greatness! He has the blood of a higher race! This human will be nothing more than a stepping stone in his growing legend.
Mors rushes towards Gu Ah, but he stays in place, as the human got closer to Gu Ah. Gu Ah aims his sword to cut down the human right hand. From behind him three spear point forward. If Mors dodged he can only dodge one, but not the other.
With overwhelming numbers, they will win this battle. He was right, Mors could not dodge both of the attacks, so he block the most threatening one, Gu Ah sword strike. As sword and horn clash, the spear tips dig themselves into Mor's skin, making new wounds in his scar cover body.
Mors bites his lips in pain as he extends his palm forward, striking the chest of Gu Ah. At first, he felt nothing, but soon an overwhelming amount of force hit his chest, he could feel his organs being crushed and his bones breaking. In a second, he was sent flying. Hitting one of the Goblins behind him.
What happened next was next to crazy. Mors grabs one of the spears and pulls the Goblin holding it toward him, as the Goblin got off the ground, a horn meets its skull. Piercing its skin and brain, killing it in seconds.
Next Mors grabs the dead Goblin and throws it at the other Goblin. Making them both hit the ground. In what some consider stupid, Mors remove the spears in his body and throw them to the ground, his wound now bleeding more than normal.
Mors soon rushes to the down Goblin and kills it. Soon leaving only Gu Ah and another Goblin alive. As the two of them stand up, both look at Mors with serious eyes. Even though the Goblins were Rank 2 Mortal, it was expected for them to be easy prey for Mors. What they did not understand was how Gu Ah someone on the same cultivation level as Mors got easily pushed away. Mors seeing the hesitation in their eyes did not let it go to waste as it rushes towards them.
Gu Ah readies his sword as he grabs the remaining Goblin and launches it to Mors, Mors with graceful steps and deadly movements. Peirce the Goblin skull and spins around. Using the memento of his spin he throws the dead Goblin back to Gu Ah, with the horn still stuck to its skull.
Gu Ah sees this and roars in anger as he rushes toward the flying Goblin, cutting it in half with a strong downward slash. So strong that it created a visible wind blade aimed at Mors. Mors of course dodges this with a simple sidestep, now with only two feet between the two remaining fighters, Mors does the same palm technique as before. His palm aimed towards Gu Ah chest, of course, he was not stupid and block the attack with his blade.
He was ready to feel the same force as before, but it never came, but what did come is Mor's fist aiming to the side of Gu Ah head. Mors fist collided with his thick skull, breaking some of it and drawing blood. Gu Ah suffers from a concussion and his vision is blurry.
As soon another punch landed on the other side of his head. Without vision and time to react, a flurry of blows landed on his head, and in 5 seconds Gu Ah die from excessive brain damage. Blood pouring out of its mouth, eyes, nose, and ears. As the dead Hobgoblin falls to the ground, Mors smiles softly to himself.
"There is no equal for me under heaven, only those weaker and stronger than me"
He says to the dead Gu Ah as he started to collect the 4 spears of the Goblins, the sword of Gu Ah as well as his armor. In a short fight, Mor's hunting abilities grew. Now armed with a real sword, spears, and leather armor. He could easily hunt wolves and other monsters without getting hurt. Soon notifications from the system sounded in his head.
[From fighting and killing 1 Hobgoblin and 4 Goblins, the user earns 60 points]
Mors smiles as he grasps once again some nearby [Cow Evergreen] and applies it to his wounds. With a smile on his face, he buys some extra stat points, now that he doesn't need to save to buy a weapon.
