Chapter 8 - Don't Stop Me

"Everybody down!", Diego screamed as another bullet harvested another life. All his men began shooting in the direction the bullet came from. It was evident by the way they were shooting that they didn't know where the shooter was located.

Diego and his men crouched into the bus and started the bus. Just then, a bullet penetrated the bonnet and damaged the engine. This placed Diego and his men in a serious dilemma. They could not escape or get out of the car.

Even worse, the people he came and did business with dispatched their men to shoot at the bus, numbering up to six of them. Fortunately for Diego, he came prepared. He took out the guns from the storage compartment at the back of the bus and shared them with his men.

Then, they began firing back. Diego successfully killed one of the gunmen, but that came at a cost of his men. "F**k, damn it! I'm out! Give me something", Diego shouted amidst the shooting. His men gave him another magazine, which he promptly loaded on his gun and resumed shooting.

The situation was turning dire for Diego. Another of his men was down, which further weakened their firing power. The gunmen slowly approached the bus and kept firing, shattering the rearview mirror. Just then, Diego's expended all the bullets in his rifle.

"Give me something!" Diego screamed at his men. "Ya no tenemos!" One of his men shouted back, telling him they were out of bullets. Diego gritted his teeth and took out his shotgun.

Another bullet flew from the window, and it perfectly landed on the forehead of one of Diego's men, shattering his skull. Diego, on seeing the casualty, closed his eye. He was going to die here, he thought.

Then, he turned to his remaining four men. "It's been great being your leader. We fight till death. We fight!" Diego screamed, shaking his fist in the air. The four men hardened their faces and shook their fists passionately.

Just as they were about to rush out and kill as many of the gunmen, a bullet whizzed by Diego's men. This time, it was heading for the gunmen. Before they could react, the bullet hit one of his eyes, shattering both his eyes and his skull. Blood squirted from the neck in all directions as the gunmen knelt, and fell with a thud.

The gunmen were shocked, and they became confused. Unfortunately for them, Diego and his men were already out of the bus, and they fired at them mercilessly. Diego shot at one of the gunmen while looking at the location the bullet probably came from. He saw Alec crouched there, with a sniper, giving him a thumbs up.

Diego smiled and returned the thumbs up, and killed the last of the gunmen.

Alec sighed in relief. Earlier, he had wanted to join Diego and his men on the bus when his peripheral vision caught a sniper gun at the roof ahead of him. With a flash, he halted abruptly and ran back to the building he came from, it was then he heard the bullet that killed one of Diego's men.

While Diego was being cornered, Alec used the opportunity to locate the sniper, but he could not find him. He used his memory to pinpoint the location where he saw the sniper and ran towards the building.

Thankfully, the sniper made his job easier, when he shot another bullet that probably killed Diego's men made a sound. After running across the roof of the houses, he saw the sniper, who was wearing camouflage. That was the reason he could not see him earlier.

His practice with his Desert Eagle paid off, as he shot the sniper at the back of his head, killing him instantly. He shoved the body on one side and used his sniper to confuse the gunmen, which Diego's men finished off.

Diego's Residence.

Diego sat down opposite Alec and stared at him intently. "You saved us brother, so we all owe you our life. Please, if there is anything you want us to do, tell us, and we'll do it without question", Diego said, and his men echoed his statement in agreement.

Alec reloaded his gun and turned on the safety. "I just have one thing I want to do. I want to kill the mafia boss", Alec said indifferently. Diego's face changed slightly.

For a moment, Diego was dumbfounded. "Brother, I know I said I will do anything to pay for our life, but please, let's do something else. That mafia is not just anyone somebody can kill like that", Diego said solemnly.

Alec stood up and ignored Diego. "If you can't help me kill him, forget it. I'll kill him myself", Alec said without looking at them.

Sighing, Diego looked at his expressionless men. "Why did you want to kill him so much? I told you, if you want to avoid them, you could just move out of here. You can go to the northern side of America, you know, New York, Canada, Bos...", Alec interrupted him impatiently.

"I just said forget about it, Diego! I am the number one most wanted person in the Mexican Mafia organization, you think they would just let me go like that? I thought you were invincible. You always tell me you don't fear men, but guess what, that's what you are doing right now. Never mind, don't assist me, but don't stop me either", Alec said and left the sitting room.

If it was in different circumstances, he would have done what Diego suggested, but he could not run. Even if he did, he still has to consider the consequences of what might happen to him if the game time runs out. As much as he wanted to know, he would not waste his life to satisfy his curiosity.

Alec stared at his gun and closed his eye. He was about to shoot the paper target when the door opened, and Diego and his men came in. "Santiago, we Hernandez don't go back at our word. We will help you kill the mafia boss, even if it is the most stupid decision we will ever make", Diego said and beat his chest.

Alec turned around, facing them, and smirked. "Thank you. Now let's commence the plan".
