A few miles away from Diego's house, inside of an abandoned house, Alec strapped his wounds tightly. His face bore no expression, but his heart was ragging with hatred. Hatred for himself for not saving Diego, hatred for Marco for betraying him, and most importantly, hatred for the mafia.
After making sure his wounds were covered properly, he picked up his Desert Eagle and stared at it, his mind distant. "I don't care anymore if this is a game. I will avenge Diego, I swear with all my heart", Alec mumbled. He stood up and left the house.
Just then, a phone vibrated in his pocket. He took it out and looked at the caller ID. The phone was Diego's, he picked it up so that the mafia won't put their hands on them and extract information from it.
Alec picked up the phone and placed it in his ears without saying anything. "Uh, Hello Santiago, we heard what happened, I'm sorry...." Alec interrupted the caller. "Who's this?" Alec asked flatly.
"We are the people sir Diego sent to gather intel from the mafia. We were analyzing the information when we received the call that Diego was dead. So sad..."
"Where's the information", Alec asked impatiently. The desire to talk with someone had long gone. "Uhm, I'm coming to bring it to you, but it's not safe saying it on call. Meet me at the usual crib", the caller said and disconnected the call.Alec put the phone in his pocket and walked to the bus. The crib he mentioned was a safe zone that Diego and his men goes to in case they were in danger. The location was so inconspicuous that it was even hard for Alec to even go there himself, but because he went there often, he knew the place front and back
When Alec arrived at the location, he dropped down and headed over to the bunker. There he met Diego's men, who were already waiting for him. When they saw Alec, they immediately stood up and greeted him as a form of respect, but Alec ignored him and headed for the leader.
"Where's the information you gathered?" Alec asked, looking at the man with a blueprint without expression. "Uhm, here it is", he said with reverence as he spread the blueprint of the table.
Alec looked at him as he began talking. "The mafia works like a bee in a hive. All of them had specific jobs to do, but one thing they all have one thing in common: Protect the queen, or in this case, the mafia boss. They all work together in fours, two always looking out for any intruders, and the second two looking guarding the places they currently were", the man explained
"So what is your plan? You didn't come here to say all these do you?" Alec looked at him expressionlessly. Yes, we had a plan, once. The job was to be done by ten people, and right now most of us are dead, plans have to change".
Alec looked at the blueprint, which was marked in points of the building. "What are these marks for?" Alec asked. "Well, these points are the blind spots of the building. After calculating their pattern of movements, we noticed there were parts of the building that was being ignored by them. I mean the mansion is very large, and so they could not cover it completely", the spy leader explained.
This was good news for Alec. If he can sneak into the building without signaling any of the bodyguards, he would easily kill him and leave.
"There are five of us, including me. If we split up accordingly, I believe the job will be done. You see, there are...
Alec waved his hands and interrupted him hastily. No one is splitting up. We are all doing this together, and that's final". Alec wrapped up the blueprint and held it in his hands. He noticed that Diego's men were still standing, surrounding him.
"So you are going to kill me because I made your boss die?" Alec glared at them with anger. One of them was quick to respond. "No, no Santiago, I... we will never do that. It's just that you are yet to give us orders. You are our new leader now".
This revelation surprised Alec. "How am I your leader? I thought you stick to your boss till death?"
"No Santiago, we stick to our boss till the end, but when our boss is dead, power transfers to the next of kin, that is if the kin is in the same line of business as he was", the leader said.
"So what you are saying is that I am your boss, right?" Alec asked to confirm. "Yes, boss", the leader said, and the rest beat their chest in submission. Alec's heart stirred a little, but he ignored them and headed to the bus. "Let's get started. Tomorrow, first thing in the morning, we begin the operation". The rest of Alec's new subordinates agreed unanimously. "Yes sir!"

In a large hotel, a man was pushed to the ground at the feet of an old man. The old man stared at him with stabbing eyes as he shifted in his seat. "So even with all the resources given to you, you didn't complete the job? This is madness!" The old man exclaimed angrily.
The man on the ground bowed at him, shivering. "I'm sorry sir, I'm at fault, please spare me. The bombs were planted at Diego's house, but someone prevented them from entering, that was why the job wasn't complete. Please, spare me".
The old man stood up and paced at the large parlor. "Spare you, huh? We'll get to that. First, who was this person that stopped the job from being complete, because with what I know, the bodies that were counted was remaining one".
The man's eyes lit up, and he stood up, but the bodyguard beside him shoved him down to the ground. "Sir, it's Diego's brother, Santiago", the man replied, looking at the bodyguard with pleading eyes.
"Santiago huh. So he's smart. But that does not match the type of person that we gathered information of. That's strange", the old man said as he stroked his beard.
Then, he approached the kneeling man and smiled creepily. "Don't worry, no matter how smart he was, his only destiny is death. You'll see what I have in the package for him tomorrow. But first, this is your package for doing a wonderful job for me", the man said and walked away.
The man was initially confused, and just as he looked at the bodyguard to inquire what he meant, a bucket full of acid was doused on him. One could hear a blood-curdling scream from outside of the mansion.
