It's been a few days since Mother said anything about Elizabeth, and now I'm beginning to wonder if she has forgotten about the whole thing. She seemed pretty interested in it the other day. I really hope she hasn't forgotten. I might have to pull another stunt like that again.
I rushed down to the dining table, it was already time for breakfast. I was really hoping Mother would bring it up again.
"Good morning," I greeted them both, launching myself into a chair and digging into my food.
"Good morning, son," They answered in unison. Looking at each other in surprise, the both burst out in laughter. It was nice to see them like that. They had grown a bit distant over the years especially because father was at work all the time. He practically devoted himself to the company. Like his father and his father before him, and now me.
