After several days of dodging, unexpectedly the day they met in person came so quickly. When Gin was standing in front of the beverage display case, someone suddenly stood beside her and took a drink beside the drink that Gin was about to take. Gin was about to take a glance for a second but when she found that person was someone she knew, she froze. Meanwhile, that person also looked at Gin with a sloppy smile.
Wasn't he the famous Gingerbread Boy?
Wang Jiyu tilted his head and greeted Gin with a faint smile. "Hello, Gin Sunbaenim."
Gin raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Oh?"
Jiyu chuckled. "Forgive my impudence, Sunbae. I'm Wang Jiyu. I know you from Hyo In Nuna, she also said that Sunbae and I were from the same high school."
Gin smiled but the smile didn't reach her eyes. "It is such a coincidence then. I didn't expect Hyo In to even spit out this unimportant Infos to some random people."
Holy sh*t. It seemed that damned Han Jun's guess was wrong. How could someone act so friendly to some strangers that they never met before? Gin doubted it. There were only two reasons they did it: whether they finally remembered to have seen you somewhere or they had unknown motives to approach you.
Gin was 100% certain that this man clearly remembered Gin as one of the stupid girls he had rejected in high school. Now this man was acting like it was the first time they had met. What kind of joke was he trying to play?
Jiyu's eyes flashed and he licked his lips. No one knew what he was thinking. "Is that so?"
Gin responded to it with a fake smile. She didn't plan to have a long conversation with this guy so he took the initiative to leave the conversation first.
"Yeah. Then have a nice day, Wang Hoobae-ssi."
"Eh, wait a minute Sunbae," said Jiyu while holding Gin's left arm.
Jiyu looked down at Gin with a charming smile. "Sunbae since we both come from the same alma mater, how about we go to the movie theater to celebrate it?"
Gin's gaze landed on Jiyu's hand. Instantly a feeling of disgust arose. When she saw the man's sloppy smile, she suspected him even more, questioning if this man really didn't know her or was just faking it. No matter which one was the truth, Gin admitted that she became interested in finding out his motive. Be friendly enough that other people might think they had a good relationship during high school when they never had a friendly conversation at all. How funny.
Gin sneered and pulled her arm which automatically caused Jiyu's hand to fall. "That sounds interesting but no thanks."
Wang Jiyu's eyes glimmered in strange meaning. "Oh?"
"Wang Hoobae, I don't think we're close enough to watch a movie together. Are you taking it easy on me?" said Gin in an unfriendly tone.
"Haha, of course not. How could Sunbae think like that to me? It breaks my heart."
Gin raised the corners of her mouth. Just looked at how clever he quibbled. Wouldn't it be disappointing if she didn't take the bait?
"Seeing how sincere you are, I feel bad if I keep rejecting you."
Wang Jiyu just smiled waiting for Gin's next words.
"Well, then let's watch it... at my house."
Gin rubbed her nose and gave off an evil look without hiding her bad intentions at all.
Even though it was beyond his expectation, Jiyu wasn't even surprised, at least on the surface. He covered his smile with his hand.
Unfortunately, the way this Sunbae responded was still not enough to make him more interested in her. But at least this start wasn't that boring.
Jiyu looked around the room with a look of interest. Then he shifted his eyes at Gin who handed the slippers to him.
"Sit wherever you want."
"Alright."
Gin walked into the kitchen and opened the cupboard, taking out the corn kernels to make popcorn. She cooked it in the oven before walking over to the fridge to take out some snacks and a big bottle of cola.
"Don't think too much just because I brought you here instead of going to the movie theater. You and I aren't close enough, so thinking of going to the movie theater together isn't something that I could accept. But since I'm also your Sunbae at high school then just think of this as my friendly welcome gift."
Bullshit. The truth was Gin didn't want anyone she knew to accidentally see her with Jiyu. She didn't want to be the subject of some gossip. Especially, she didn't want to get involved with Jiyu.
Gin said without raising her eyes. She put the snacks and colas on the tray and placed them on the kitchen table. After that, she took out the corn kernels that had become popcorn.
Jiyu stood up after hearing that and walked over to the kitchen table to sit down on a chair. He propped his chin with his hand and looked at Gin's back with a strange interest.
Reluctant to go to the cinema with strangers but more comfortable bringing the stranger into her home, hearing this person's definition of 'couldn't accept' made anyone who heard that felt quite interested.
Gin turned around with a big box of popcorn. She was not surprised to find that the man was sitting in front of her. Gin also didn't miss to find how ambiguous his smile was and the strange look in his eyes. But she didn't care and pretended not to notice. She put the popcorn on the table.
"Take the tray and follow me."
Jiyu smiled and nodded.
When he stepped onto the second floor and found a small room containing a mini-theater, Jiyu was a little taken aback. Seeing how this Sunbae was so well prepared for the snacks and even had popcorn kernels in her house was enough to increase his curiosity.
Gin placed the popcorn on the small table. Then she opened her laptop which has been connected to a projector and selected the newest films on her subscription site.
"Is there any particular movie you'd like to see?"
Jiyu shook his head. Gin didn't ask any further and chose a film at random.
"Feel free to act as if it is your house. Hope you enjoy the movie," Gin said without any expression.
Wang Jiyu wanted to speak but closed his mouth after he saw Gin was staring blankly at the screen. Jiyu just smiled lopsidedly and acted as if he was enthusiastic while watching.
Look at how two people who knew each other act like they didn't know each other.
