Gryph POV:
My eyes slowly traced over towards the Professor who had now fallen on her backside, cowering in fear.
My face tilted downwards in order for our eyes to meet, establishing our standings in this battle and I proceed to gently whisper to her. "Thanks for reminding me of why I'm doing all this in the first place. As your reward, how about telling me your experience of being incinerated from this world.
Her face slowly contorts into a look of horror and agony at my words, also clear confusion. Now that I'm thinking about it, a dead person needs not understand any of my words. The afterlife won't exist for this nations criminals, at the same time neither it will for me. Therefore, their confusion will be extinguished by their imminent death.
At the sight of her clear discomfort and fear that she held towards me, a devilish grin slipped onto my face.
Is this the ecstasy she felt?
With the devilish smile being retained, I place my open palm towards her face and let my flames slowly crawl down my arm before surging towards her and the surroundings behind her, devouring it with no remorse. The next thing I saw, was the remaining anarchy left behind my disposal of a righteous path. I decided to throw that away ages ago, but my actions have now backed up my intent. The further down the path I walk, the less path remains behind me. Irreversible actions, that I cannot regret. That I will not regret. I won't look for a path of redemption after the end. As the end will be my saving grace.
The grin from my face now gone, left me feeling empty at the sight of my destruction. This sight only stirred my hunger further. What a beautifully sad scene. I glance to my right arm to find it unscathed apart from the fact that my sleeve had been burned and left my right arm completely exposed.
Seems I didn't go overboard with that.
I then felt a gaze, cling towards me. It belonged to the 1st year representative Kala Fang, who also happened to be the cousin of Radence Fang. I could feel her imminent emotions that seeped through her whilst she carefully observed me from a safe distance. You could say she was rather wary of me. Yet, that doesn't surprise me one bit. The view from a hill only looks high because you've never been on a mountain. Gazing towards something so tall when you felt the tallest, must be a shocking and frightful experience. Though the most prominent emotion I felt from her gaze, was curiosity, of course accompanied by the follow through of her emotions of confusion and fear.
I guess people will start avoiding me from now on. Even if they are the mighty 1st year representative. Oh well, I wonder if Ray's alright.
Dismaying that very real possibility, I started heading over towards Ray, who had still remained unconscious throughout. The killing intent that I had previously produced, I now slowly began submerging deep within my heart, essence, bones, and muscles alike. The arena was left in complete silence, with the occasional noise of bricks crumbling behind me as the only exception, therefore with each step that imprinted itself in the shape of my sole, on the dried dirt, a crunching sound escaped the ground. I now slowly tried to crouch to pick Ray up…
But I could not get further down than slightly bending my knees, as 4 warriors, clad in obsidian armour that originated from the colours of the uniform, surrounded me at every spot, thrusting a spear towards my exposed neck. However, all stopped before ruthlessly tearing my head away from the rest of my body, though one came dangerously close, as the point of his spear broke through my skin and had drawn ruby, red blood.
My face, in spite of things, remained unchanged, proudly wearing my poker face, devoid of emotion. I slowly turned around to the one who had pierced my skin, glaring at him, releasing a concentrated killing intent only he would be able to feel. Though I was the one being pointed at with four spears, he knew at this time, if he even slightly dug deeper, even with his advantageous position he would still die. It was only natural his spear backed up a couple inches away.
Fear is irrational, especially when you feel endangered. Even if you had an 100% chance of survival you would still feel fear against your natural predator. So, though he clearly had the upper hand and had been given direct orders to not give me the slightest room, he still gave into fear of death rather than fear of punishment, which could still lead to death if I escaped from this position. But all I wanted was some comfort, so I decided to cooperate as this would catch up to me no matter what. Especially when I had just found perfect specimens to help me bring about my Apocalypse, I couldn't leave this place yet. I had no choice but to stay and therefore accepting every punishment that came my way. So, leaving it at that, I released my killing intent and the man breathed a sigh of relief.
Immediately after I had been surrounded, faculty from the S.D (School defence) department and from the medical apartment had now charged into the underground colosseum, sparing no time in ensuring their students safety. Behind them all, was a lone man who walked in a leisurely pace towards not the students, but me. His demeanour calm and collected as he wore a big, gentle smile. He had a scruffy grey beard with matching grey hair, that naturally contrasted his gold eyes. His eyes, rather than shine in a glorious and proud colour, his eyes remained lacklustre or hollow, almost lacking life. He was a very tall man coming in at least 6ft, 8inch, and had the physique of a trained veteran who was till regularly sent out to live combat, which seemed rather strange due to his old age as he was roughly around his sixties or seventies.
He gave Gryph the impression of being a walking contradiction. His gold eyes curled upwards along with his smile, yet his eyes remained cold and unfazed, his scruffy beard gave him a more laid-back look, but his movements were highly elegant and composed, completely rejecting the idea of his possible laid-back nature and personality. But there was one thing that was for sure.
He's strong! Very strong at that. So, this man is... The headmaster of Royal academy.
The headmaster then speaks up, his tone cheery but his speech coming out very lethargically and his voice, rough and deep in sound. "Student Gryph. Would you mind accompanying me to my office? I'm afraid we have some things to discuss, which require rather urgent matter."
Though he asked me if it was alright, his aura clearly told me that I had no option but to go along with it. He basically asked me if I would come out of my own resolution, or if he would have to beat me up and drag me to his office. His aura exuded command and power. I was sure that if he wanted to, he'd be able to contain me.
I simply nod my head at his question and allow myself to be put under restraints of handcuffs. Though the handcuffs wouldn't be able to contain me if I wanted to, it was more of a reminder of my current position and predicament rather than a safety measure. It was simply just easier to go along with the process. My feet now dragged behind me as one of the men had a chain attached to my cuffs and kept pulling it along and me with it, hurrying me up to the exit of the ruins of the colosseum that I had left behind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We had now entered his office which was based in the middle tower, dead centre on the school grounds. Just like I had previously suspected, this wasn't just a simple clock tower, but a tower you could look out of.
Looks like I finally found my culprit that gave me so much trouble at the start of the day.
I now sat down on a chair, opposing the headmaster, with only a desk now separating the two of us as our eyes clashed in deadlock for control over the social situation.
The headmaster's office was a rather grand and expansive chamber, that held his desk as well as multiple blackboards that use chalk to write on. Boxes were piled up neatly in the multiple corners and the office possessed a massive 360-degree view, looking outwards to the school. All the walls were transparent glass, but even though the light shone constantly, the glass dimmed the light that came inside, therefore the room was rather dark. Not that the dimmed glass made much difference on a day like this, as rain drops now aggravatingly lashed at the windows, hitting it in multiple concentrated streams that kept on coming.
How is it possible for this glass to be invisible from the outside and have the appearance of just a clock tower? Is it some kind of illusion?
My eyes had now separated from the headmasters and wondered about the room whilst I continued sitting adjacent to him. He seemed to notice this and began speaking.
"You're probably wondering why you're here." He asks in that same lethargic tone.
I raise my eyebrow and answer, "Isn't it because I killed Professor Windrow and damaged the facilities?"
He then lets out an amused chuckle.
"Kukukuku. No, the reason you're here isn't exactly that. But before we get down to it, you can refer to me as headmaster Kaiser."
I reply immediately, in a polite and respectful manner. "Understood, headmaster Kaiser."
He then smiles and resumes his explanation. "Ok then. To begin this conversation." His voice then became overly intimidating, releasing pressure that made me sweat frantically. His power was on an incredible level. His eyes grew colder and sharper as they lit up, giving life to his previously dead eyes. His tone Even rougher than before, he finishes his statement. "Who are you, claimer of the last name Note?"
