Chapter 13 - Chapter 12 - Head of the Fang House Part II

"So, I know the time we have spent apart is short, but I am curious as to if you progressed since the last time we fought." Head Lialh questioned.

Me and Kala looked blankly at each over before turning back to him. "Not really." Kala answered on our behalf.

"Not really? So have you, or have you not?" He asked once more, requesting a definitive statement from us. As expected from one of the greatest heads of the Fang house's history. He doesn't take uncertainty and requires definitive proof when approaching anything.

"Sorry father. Let me correct my previous statement. We haven't improved yet. We haven't had the chance."

"I see. Well that's only to be expected, it has been too short of a time gap for you, especially when you were preparing to enrol and didn't have time to train and then definitely not after you actually entered the place. So it is safe to assume that Kala is still stronger than you, Ray?" His now radiant mercury eyes turned towards me.

I quickly scoff at myself and then sigh before answering. "Unfortunately so. She's still leagues above me."

Lialh then proceeded to look towards his daughter for confirmation and so she did, nodding her head.

He picks up his white cup and sips it quietly, closing his eyes whilst doing so, and enjoying it to its fullest.

"You know Ray, it takes a great man to admit his shortcomings and face himself with reality. No matter how much despair it would cause him. It shows your great maturity and your potential. I'm sure if you advance your skills and control over your emblem, you will be able to pose a great alliance to Kala." His compliments were seeded perfectly as his words cozied me. However, I couldn't ignore the fact that he basically implied I would never be able to stand a chance against Kala and would instead just be a great ally for her. What he said hurts, but I can't deny his words. He spoke the truth and whilst he sugar-coated my praise, he didn't give me false hope. That is a quality I found rather admirable about our Head.

"Thank you for your kind words, uncle." I replied courteously.

He then smiles at the two of us whilst we indulgedourselves a bit in the white tea and equally white cookiesthat were laid out on the table.

"Andrew." He signalled over to his servant by wafting his hand as he spoke his name.

"Yes my lord?" He asked as he bent in a polite forty five degree angle and listened in attentively.

"Please prepare the Lily Dome. I would like to do a bit of stretching with the kids."

"Yes my lord, as you wish."

"Oh and before you go." Lialh pulled his servant closer to him and whispered in his ear. "Can you do that for me?"

Andrew looked rather confused but decided not to dwell on the matter of his employer. "If you wish for me to do so, I am sure I can arrange something for master. In one way or another."

Lialh's face lit up in a satisfied smile. "As expected of my best and favourite servant."

"It's a pleasure assisting you sir."

"Oh you are too kind Andrew." The two exchanged some more pleasant chit chat and Andrew was off on his way.

Lialh then returned his attention towards us and cleared his throat. "Would the two of you indulge me in a fight? I would like to test your abilities for myself, as it has been a month since we sparred."

Kala, annoyed, then says, "You could have faced of against us before we went to school but instead you decided to end our training two weeks before."

He chuckles and answers. "I only wanted you guys to prepare yourself as well as take time to reflect and relax before entering a stressful period in your lives. So is that a no?"

"Of course we're up for the challenge." I declare, standing up from my seat with my hands firmly on the table."

"That's a good fire you have. Now servants, please take them away to change into Fang appropriate combat attire." The men and women around us took no time and quickly showed us the way.

"Oh good, you have finally arrived." Lialh greeted us in a unpigmented arena that spread out in the design of a lily. The arena floor was smooth yet grippy and the further from the centre of it you went, a slight incline formed that led to the eventual petals positioned on the rims of the arena.

"Yeah, and I must say it's great being back in this arena. These uniforms as well." Kala commented on our appearance. We wore white and red tight fitted combat suits designed completely custom. It allows for free movement but also very sturdy protection and is made from the finest materials like leviathan skin which had been forged through dragon fire. It's white and red colours complemented our Families crest which was emphasised on the suit that was mostly white with thin red like fangs going up the legs and arms.

"Good to see you two ready and back in those uniforms." Lialh says as his fur coat sways gently in the strong wind as it carries multiple heavy metal pieces because of its inbuilt protection design.

"Yeah, yeah. Feels good to be back." Radence smacks his fist against his palm and smirks.

"Lets just start this." Kala demands, a fire steadily grew in her icy blue eyes.

"Easy tiger. But as it's my daughters request, we may begin this bout." He announces his arms wide out like he was presenting a show to a massive audience.

A small change in the wind passed masking Kala's moves and she appears to Lialh out the corner of his eye. He doesn't panic and instead stays fixed in the position ready to receive her attack.

Kala's leg sparks a thunder blue colour as it zapped around her sounding a buzzing noise. She swings it at his side only for Lialh to barely dodge it, placing himself in a proper stance now. He stood hunched on his toes his left arm clenched in a fist and his right open in a palm slightly slanted.

"You'll have to do better than that. Now Come!"
