The name was one he would never forget. It was his best friend, Kyle Easton, and it was coming through the regional chat.
He quickly opened the last message.
[Kyle Easton: Bruhhhhhh, are you there?]
[Charlie Forest: Yoooooooo]
[Kyle Easton: Duuuuuude]
[Charlie Forest: Broooooo]
[Kyle Easton: What the hell is happening? I woke up thirty minutes ago and this shit is wack]
[Charlie Forest: Wtf, I been here all day. Why did you only show up now?]
[Kyle Easton: Last night was that raging party. I was at it till dawn and then….]
[Charlie Forest: So you were passed out and woke up just a bit ago.]
[Kyle Easton: Yeah dude. Listen to this shit. I am a farmer now. All those years working on my uncle's farm and then I get thrown into a dungeon and told to be a farmer.]
[Charlie Forest: Ha, ha, ha, your dad is a military man, and your mom is a business genius, but I guess you took after your uncle.]
[Kyle Easton: Bah, bah, bah shush. Farming is where it is at. I can tend to my herbs in the day and smoke them at night. But look at you Mr. Bigshot. How did you become hot shit?]
[Charlie Forest: This bro of yours hit the jackpot. I became a….]
[Kyle Easton: Don't leave me hanging.]
[Charlie Forest: I am a chef. A top notch one. (MyDungeon.jpeg)]
Chuck ran out to the entrance of his dungeon and used his laptop to take a picture of his setup before he sent it.
[Kyle Easton: Ha, ha, that's baller. Being a chef got you to level 5. That's awesome.]
[Charlie Forest: Heh, heh, not quite. My dumbass was taken prisoner by a native. I used my cooking skills to turn them into a lackey and they helped me get 4 dungeon cores to upgrade my place. I am already level 9. I was just deciding what to spend some money on, then my dungeon will hit level 10. You can expect an announcement soon.]
[Kyle Easton: Killer, killer. That is awesome. Don't forget your promise brother.]
[Charlie Forest: What promise?]
[Kyle Easton: You always said that once you struck the jackpot on a gameshow, you would buy a big mansion and let me live in the basement. Come one bro, where you at, where is my basement?]
[Charlie Forest: I got no problem hosting, but how the heck are we going to find each other?]
[Kyle Easton: I was reading chat before you sent out waves. Apparently, friends can pay to find each other. Big Daddy money bags, why don't you pay to find this bro of yours.]
[Kyle Easton has sent you a fried request.]
Chuck accepted and sure enough, there was an option to locate the other party. He spent 1,000DP to find the location. What surprised him was that even though it wasn't in his dungeon tab, it still went towards leveling his dungeon.
[Charlie Forest: I got you bro. You are 10 miles northwest of me. Here XXX.Link. That link will be active for 7 days. But I don't know how dangerous the journey will be. 10 miles sounds pretty close, but who knows what's between.]
[Kyle Easton: Yeah, yeah, I hear you. I will work on getting a bit stronger and then come your way.]
[Charlie Forest: Sure, let me know before you go and maybe I can meet you halfway. My level isn't too bad and I got that goblin friend I made.]
[Kyle Easton: Ha, ha, ha you got taken captive by a goblin. Lame.]
[Charlie Forest: Psh. You better watch yourself. He could have killed me in two strikes. If things didn't work out, I would be a ghost right now.]
[Kyle Easton: Okay, okay, I will stay safe. But I am going to head out and see what I can do to improve. I will talk to you later.]
[Charlie Forest: See ya later.]
Chuck was in a good mood. His best friend was in the same region as he was. What were the chance of that? He decided that before he went to bed, he need to skim through the names of everyone in the regional channel to see if he knew anybody else.
With defense in mind, chuck began to browse the dungeon shop.
He could get different spawners, like a device that spawned rats every day, but that didn't seem like a great idea. Not until he added more space at least. Chuck moved onto to individual summons. He could contract a single stronger creature. The downside was that if it died, then that was it and he also had to pay it a wage every day. Whereas the spawners would pump out new creatures at fixed intervals.
But a summons would probably be better for the moment. He could put spawners once he got a new floor and made it big.
'Eh, that could work.'
A level 20 vampire could be summoned for 10,000DP. And it would have a daily wage of 100DP. He could afford it and vampires were usually depicted wearing nice clothes. He could already imagine a cute vampire chick acting as the waitress in his restaurant.
'Ha, ha, perfect, let's do it.'
Without considering it any further he made the decision.
[World Announcement: Congratulations to Charlie Forest to be the first human player to advance his dungeon to level 10 in the world.]
[You have received 25,000 Reputation points.]
'Damn, I guess that means I wasn't the first person in the world to hit level 5. There should be some other big shots out there.'
"Greetings master."
A soft red light disappeared. But instead of a cute vampire princess curtsying to him. An old white-haired man was bowing. He was dressed in a black suit and wore white gloves. He looked the part, but it was a shame that he was an old man instead of a cute girl.
'Eh, whatever.' He shouldn't have gotten his hopes up.
"Hello. Nice to meet you." Chuck said.
"The pleasure is mine master. You can call me, Gareth."
"I am Chuck Forest. This is my humble restaurant that will one day be know throughout all the lands. For the time being I would like for you to help with security in my dungeon and perhaps bring food to customers if I ever get any. Don't worry, everyone who works in my dungeon will get plenty of good meals."
"Of course, Master Forest. I am more than willing to fulfill your wishes. But my kind only requires blood. So, the food is unnecessary."
"Okay but give it a try first. I know a great blood sausage recipe where blood is one of the main ingredients. If you don't like it then of course you can have plain boring blood. The choice is yours; I will make some tomorrow. Everyone is winding down for the night, so you can relax and rest or do whatever. I am about to make a few employee rooms and then will be doing my own thing, so don't mind me." Chuck said before walking.
He made a short tunnel near the dungeon entrance and made two rooms off it. He used 400 square feet. He was about to decorate them when Gareth stop him.
"A door to the room is enough for me. I have my own things."
Chuck nodded. As expected of a level 20 creature. He spent a few DP and put a door to block of each room and then another for Crumbs future room. The rooms were on the side so the hallway could continue in the future to accommodate more rooms.
