Andrea lifted her eyes and looked ahead, she saw the killer fall flat to the ground and the Margot that was on his shoulder also met the same fate. However, as quickly as he fell, he rose to his feet, and turned around.
In Andrea's imagination, their eyes met and her heart skipped a beat. There was a feeling inside her, like she was caught doing something she shouldn't have been.
However, in the real world, the person the killer glanced at was behind Andrea, the person who fired the gun. As the killer caught sight of that familiar face, Andrea could see a slight curve of his lips, an upward curve but under the soft light of the moon, she couldn't be certain. The killer did not wait to exchange pleasantries, he hopped off on one foot as fast as lightning, disappearing into the night, into the bushes before Bree could give chase.
"He escaped," Andrea said.
