LEANDRA'S POINT OF VIEW
"Why do your cheeks look very flushed right now?" Fabian, Master Hades' personal butler said.
I turned around. It's already dark, evening, actually. All the people– or I might say that all vampires are all awake. Nevertheless, they did something during daylight. Indeed, all of them are pretty quiet and too sensitive like what books and articles say.
Currently, we're now outside. Like what he told Fabian, he said that he could assist me until he comes home. He told me he'd be gone for the whole day and it has been a whole damn day I'm waiting for my master.
Since I wasn't doing anything right now, I turned my gaze to Fabian and a sudden idea popped into my mind.
"My cheeks aren't flushed," I snorted.
He smirked. "Why? Did something already happen between you and my master?" He seemed very confident and amused.
We just kissed! Nothing more happened. And thinking that our lips crashed with each other makes my blood go up to my cheeks.
His smirk grew even bigger. "I see," he mumbled. "Do you wanna know how many girls flock in his path just to have him, Lady Leandra?" he informed, which I don't have any interest in knowing.
I shook my head nonchalantly. We were wandering around the woods but it wasn't the same as where the small house Master Hades and I had been attacked.
Some houses are nearby. Though, some of them are probably asleep. Most vampires wake up at night and sleep when the sun no longer peeks.
"He's good-looking, that's given. Girls would line up just to have him, I guess," I said as I roamed my eyes around the area.
Fabian chuckled. "Uh-huh. My Lord Hades is strong. Many people feared him, even his siblings and he was unstoppable… no one could even stop him," he said. "Oh, by the way. We'll serve him for the rest of our lives and it's better if you know what kind of vampire he is."
And by the time he said that I was intrigued. I saw a bunch of benches in the middle of the woods. Fabian and I sat down. Why do they have benches in the middle of the woods, by the way?
Weird.
"He's the Prince next to the throne so as much as he wanted, he doesn't want someone who's under him being stupid and… foolish," he said.
I squirmed then glanced away. I could clearly remember how I failed the training with him.
"I already know that. Master Hades said he'd kill me if…"
Fabian's voice became serious. "Believe me, he would. He killed many vipers and punished prisoners. He already had countless slaves and 75% of them have been slain by him…"
With his sudden information, I froze where I was. I bit my lower lip visualizing Master Hades was slaying me using his long nails, sharp fangs, and even a sword.
I caught him being angry, well, maybe that's the least anger he has been showing with everyone.
"H-How many slaves did he already h-had?" an abrupt question came out of my lips.
"Two hundred seventy-six, I think,"
Damn. That's a lot. I'm in two hundred and seventy-seven queues, then?"
Fabian nodded like he was reading my mind which made me snort. "Yes, you are," he said.
Maybe this kind of information would help me. I mean… I'm under a dangerous person. I don't wanna end my life yet so I have to find a way to survive, to see my friends and my family again even if what they often do was to make my life hard.
"Lord Hades fears no one except one person…" he said, breathing heavily.
My eyebrows furrowed. "Who…"
"The King, his father," he said. "Since he was a kid, he's already been trained to be a good King someday but it seems like his power surpassed the borderline. No one could tame him unless it was his father. Since he was still a child, Lord Hades has already been told that he should be the one who's going to embrace the throne so… as much as possible, he wanted a perfect team, a perfect underwing and people whom he could trust," he said with his low baritone voice.
I get it. In some dramas or fantasy dramas, the first-born child, especially the son, is next to the throne.
"He already made that clear to me back then…"
Fabian gazed at me wearing his frigid and serious look. "That's why we should train after this and before we leave for a hunt. A mission,"
"A mission… I'm coming?"
He nodded. "Maybe yes, maybe not. Depends on how'd you behave,"
"I'm going to be alone inside his room, then?" Damn, that sounds awful to me.
"Or maybe Olga can take care of you. Her house is just near… Do you wanna come and visit?"
Fabian showed me the way to where it was. Even if it's minutes of walking away from where we are earlier, I was pretty astonished to see that the place Olga owns has been enchanted. I mean… you won't mistake this place for a house or a property of a vampire.
Many flowers are everywhere. Some flowers and medicinal plants are everywhere actually. The place where her house was located screams peace and… I believe it may give you the life that you wished for.
The door of her small house opened, and Olga came out wearing a dress I wear in the castle with her huge smile.
"Lady Leandra," she exclaimed. "You're here…" she mumbled.
I nodded my head and came closer to her. "I didn't know you have this kind of exquisite place, Olga!"
She chuckled and opened the door of her house even more. "You can go in and chat with me if you have time, my lady," she said, forming a sweet smile on her lips.
Fabian and I looked at each other. I guess Master Hades wouldn't get mad if I'd come and have a chat with Olga. Although he clearly told me that we should wait for him in the forest.
