"You still haven't answered my questions," I said with a serious demeanor. Surprisingly her fairy companions had no qualms about this, " they don't see this as dissing?" I thought and let out a sigh, I was mentally stressed now and probably a bit hungry. "I miss my bed and home arrghh" I whined internally. We were still afloat on gusts of winds that Zephyr seemed to have conjured up
" Oh My, I didn't intend to ignore them"
" I just got distracted, we Fairies get easily distracted you see. Fun and sweet things easily sway us over making us forget the important things"
" What were your questions again?" She asked
"Come to think of it, I don't think I outrightly asked her any questions," I thought realizing that I was at fault. I had assumed that she knew what was bugging me earlier and expected that she will provide a suitable answer.
" You mentioned Psychic Magic back then"
" I did" She replied casually like she hadn't noticed my serious tone.
" What exactly is magic and how are you speaking directly to our minds"
" So it wasn't my imagination then" she drew back in surprise.
" What are you talking about?" I said with a face hinting at curiosity and surprise. At this point, everyone had gathered behind as they noticed that I was in a serious discussion with Zephyr.
" Miss Zephyr," I said out loud in English and paused a bit so that my comrades might follow up. Fortunately, Zephyr understood thanks to magic.
" I noticed that it seemed you all had no knowledge on magic, No.... that's not it. I think it's better to say you're entirely clueless about us Fairies and this part of the continent"
" Have humans forgotten about the existence of Fairies and Magic?" Zephyr said and zoomed up close, her eyes were starting to appear teary now.
" No No, that's not it," I said nervously as I took my right hand and placed it on my hair, itching it slowly. I couldn't decide if it was safe to tell her about our predicament.
" Then what is it? Something is worrying you but a clear image isn't forming up in any of your minds so I can't quite pick it up" she said putting on her angry face, seems she was genuinely concerned. " Just how kind can one be?" I thought admiring Zephyr's charity.
I shifted my gaze to the others giving them a look that suggested I wanted their opinions and they all nodded in response, they all were in support of telling Zephyr our predicament.
"It's better this way, we were lucky to even meet someone that genuinely cared about us and she might know how this came to be," I thought
" We are not from here" I continued in English.
" Obviously, humans don't exist in this forest" Zephyr replied with her right arm inclined at an angle close to ninety degrees with her small cute palm spread out like she had just spoken the obvious.
"Forgive us for lacking common knowledge," I thought and open my mouth slightly in a stressed-out manner.
" What he meant was that we are not from this world," Germaine said
" What's that suppose to mean?" Zephyr said and giggled a bit placing her palm over her mouth probably to avoid loud laughs from escaping.
" We are serious"
" Really?" She squeezed her face a bit and looked serious now, she had probably looked into our minds and confirmed that we were serious, well it's not like we had any reason not to be.
" Yes" I replied
" I haven't heard of such a thing before" she rolled up her eyeballs with her index finger on her lip as she stared upwards and seemed to try recalling.
" Yep, I have no idea" Hearing this, we all felt stricken by her answer. " What if there isn't a way to return?" I thought as I suppressed the emotions that might burst out of me any moment now.
" My king might know!" Zephyr said
" Your king?!"
" Yes my king, he is the wisest being in the continent!" Zephyr said looking excited again, "she must really admire her king"
" He that knows all, the very first being that sprouted from the holy sacred tree, the hero that fought against the great calamity, the wise, the beautiful, the untainted Fairy King" she sang wholeheartedly and cheerfully, her companions put on a bright happy face as they heard her sing, Apparently she sang out loud in whatever language they adopted and it was automatically translated to mind, Meanwhile I had mixed feelings of cringe and charm, I'm pretty sure the rest felt this way as well, don't get me wrong, her voice was very beautiful but the song sounded a bit off, it sounded like a typical sentence in an average children's book.
" Sounds like the real deal" I murmured
" I am certain that what you said was true but then just how did you get here," she said suddenly snapping out of her excitement
" Well, it went like this..."
