Ugh! My head! I woke up as I felt my head fell on the ground. My vision turned on and saw my siblings scribbling on something along with our parents. Is it breakfast time? What does beetles in this world eats anyway? I approached them with unstable movements and saw leaves and berries like fruit at the center. So we are herbivores? Some beetles I know are omnivorous.
That's good for me though. I don't want to eat uncooked raw meat. I took a bite on the yellowish leaves and I was surprised because it's kinda juicy. It has small liquids on it making squelching sound whenever I chew. I took a bite at the fruit and it's juicy too but just kinda sour. It's bright pink in color which made me worried because some fruits with bright colors are poisonous. Well I do believe we were in another world. Just by the eyes of my parents and behaviours I already have a hunch. There's to many food in front of us that we can't eat it all.
I wonder how did our parents get it. This berries must be newly fallen ones and same as the leaves which explains it's yellowish color. The berries are like half of our head in size and the leaves are as big as our whole body. Which gave me a small idea about our actual size.
Where still infants but Base on the leaves we must be bigger than infant beetles in my world. And the leaves are just as big as my mother's head. Our Father our 2 times bigger than our mother. This sizes are really different on my previous world. I wonder if there's magic in here like the the novel that I've completed?
After we ate, my parents sat comfortably side by side blocking the entrance while my siblings are rustling around the walls. I was curious about the outside so I was crawling my way up to my mother's back which was treacherous because my father will shove me away when I'm almost up the top.
Of course I didn't stop which made my father just look at me while I was up on my mother's back. I could see a tree's top and the clear blue skies from outside the entrance. I don't think that this mini cave of us is inclined or something but why can I see a tree's top and sky from outside the entrance? Are we perchance, on a cliff's side? That must be it then but our cave is made of soil not rock? This kinda hard to figure out. If I could only look outside.
My father scooped me with his big trunk before I could slide off my mother's back to the other side. He placed me in the middle of the the cave which then my siblings annoyed me by pushing me, shoving me or even climbing up on my back. Well, I tried to somehow played along with them.
This is a blessing for my abnormal affection towards beetles. I pushed them, chased them and climbed up on their backs too. I somehow had so much fun even though all I could feel from my siblings are curiosity and happiness and nothing else.
After what I felt an hour of playing, dizziness assaulted me. I felt my siblings are sleepy too. I approach my parents and scooped in between them. My siblings did the same nudging to get comfortable together. I didn't remember much until I fell asleep again.
I woke up but this time, our parents wasn't beside us. I'm the only one whose awake and my siblings are still asleep. I wonder where did they go. The thought hit me that they must be out looking for food for us. I approached the entrance and as I got closer, I got sight with countless tree's tops and the now cloudy skies.
I was now sitting at the mouth of the entrance and I could clearly see the leaning trees. Yes! Leaning trees. I looked down and saw that we were kind of up a small Hill. All the trees are leaning forward in one direction. All the trees are tall and had no other branches than on their head. Their like giant wooden nails. The ground was color of brown, green, yellow and orange because it was covered with leaves of different ages.
There is nothing much to see because this field of leaning trees must be spreading at a large area. The skies are clouded but it was the color of clouds in a sunset. But still, mysteriously, it's still kinda bright.
I was about to step out of the entrance too look at the back but a loud bird cry resounded behind our small Hill. *ieeek!* the sound was thin but so loud! I quickly stepped inside the cave and I think my siblings heard it too.
Some of them was awakened and was now crawling in random direction. Two of them was approaching my direction and the loud bird cries resounded again now coming from our top. I quickly pushed my two siblings deeper in the cave as I was fearful of the possibilities that might happen if that bird will find its way in our cave. Mother! Father!
They were not here! They might be in danger! I want to go out and look for them but my siblings are in danger too! There's also the possibility that the bird my enter our cave! As I am fearing, a bird cries now resounded at our entrances it was now painful in our ears that it made my siblings screech in fear.
As I saw the silhouette of a birds head getting deeper inside our cave, a loud and deep screech resounded outside. The bird heard it too and now was getting out of our cave. I was so afraid to go out and I just stand between the direction of the entrance and my screeching siblings. The two loud cries and screech continued for like 2 minutes and I heard the screeching of the bird getting fainter and fainter as if it was going away. I saw another shadow from the cave entrance approaching deeper at a fast paced. I felt my heart racing as I think of our possible doom that this creature will give us. I just reincarnated, I don't wanna die yet!
My fear and worries was swatted away by the image of my mother and her small and beautiful trunk with leaves and fruits stabbed at each point. My siblings scribbles as they approach our mother. Another silhouetted entered the cave and now our father's form appeared. His big trunk was glowing in soft blue. Is that? Is that magic?!
My father can use magic and he used it to scare the bird away?
