Chapter 9 - Cafe

It was getting late, and Carren was still sitting in the cafe she had chosen as a place to spend time relaxing.

Sitting looking out the window, watching one by one people pass by, was the thing she chose to be busy with while there.

Even though tonight it was 09.00 PM, the atmosphere that night was still quite crowded.

It can be seen from her point of view that now she can see that everyone has their own busy lives with different feelings, of course.

A soft sigh escaped her lips.

She felt she slowly began to calm down and liked the atmosphere.

Until …

Ting!

The sound of the bell in the cafe interrupted the silence.

Her eyes spontaneously looked towards the cafe entrance.

Thump!

Carren's heart was beating fast. She really didn't expect that her words would come true!

{Carren, what's wrong with you? You look different? Are you okay? Your face is red}

Luckily Carla rebuked her so that she didn't look ridiculous when the young man unexpectedly turned to her, and at that moment, Carren turned her gaze in another direction.

"Almost," Carren squeaked quietly.

{Wait…is he Jasver, the young man you said before?}

Again Carla asked, which was only answered with a squeak of 'Yes' to Carla as an answer.

Oh, come on, she doesn't want to be seen as weird if Jasver sees her talking to herself!

She didn't want to have a bad impression on the young man she'd liked from a distance for a long time.

The young man casually went to the cashier to order a drink first. Then he went to one of the benches there.

'Hopefully, he chooses to sit near me,' Carren thought to herself.

She wanted to look closely at Jasver.

"Hey, can I sit here?"

Thump!

Again for how many times Jasver surprised herself.

Immediately Carren wondered why the young man chose the chair in front of her instead of choosing another? Aren't there a lot of empty seats?

Feeling that Carren didn't answer and just stared at him, of course, Jasver who was in front of her, was a little confused.

"Is anyone going to take this bench?"

Carren gave Jasver a reflex shake of her head.

"Y-you can sit there," said Carren nervously, inviting the young man to sit in front of her.

With pleasure, Jasver sat on the bench.

"I saw you here alone, and after I noticed you were the only customer here, for that I feel you need a friend to talk to or maybe at least, so you don't feel lonely," Jasver whispered in a sentence that was quite long according to Carren.

She wanted to jump for joy because Jasver was talking to her!

Can she immortalize this day and ask for time to pause for a moment?

That's what immediately occurred in Carren's mind, which was too narrow to be blinded by Jasver's presence.

A nod of the head and a small chuckle Carren gave Jasver.

{Woah, you're very lucky, but wait… isn't what's happening right now almost the same as what happened to me in your novel?}

Carren frowned and tried to think about Carla's words.

'Good grief! She's right… a cafe? It's just a different scene.' Carren's monologue in mind.

"What is it? Why are you frowning for a moment? Was there something wrong with what I said or maybe my attitude?" Jasver asked as he sat himself down on the bench.

Again Carren shook her head slowly.

There was no way Carren could tell Jasver that she could hear Carla, could she?

'Calm down, Carren, you need to relax,' Carren said in her mind trying to control herself.

"Are you really happy to be in a cafe like this alone?" Jasver asked, starting the conversation with Carren.

A smile Carren gave Jasver.

"Just tonight, I got out of my place. For some time, I haven't left my apartment at all," said Carren.

Jasver rolled his eyes in confusion.

"You don't interact with the people around you? Or maybe you socialize with your friends, or maybe you go to work like that?" Jasver asked, confused.

Carren gave Jasver a small shake of her head.

"I don't have close friends, and I don't know how to start socializing. The last time I left my apartment was maybe a week or two ago. My job doesn't require me to leave the house and only struggles with my laptop," Carren said honestly to Jasver.

Jasver nodded his head, starting to understand Carren's words.

Soon Jasver reached out his hand to Carren, inviting the girl to be friends with him.

Carren blinked in confusion.

Honestly, she really wanted to shake Jasver's hand right away because that's what she wanted. It's just that Carren, who always thought about many things and always tried to put herself in various points of view, didn't immediately accept the handshake directly.

"Y-you want to be friends with me? You don't think I'm a weirdo because I like to be alone?" Carren asked hesitantly.

{Why do you think too much, Carren? You just agreed, isn't that what you want?}

'Ish, you don't understand, Carla.'

Jasver chuckled at Carren's question, which in his opinion, seemed to make him picky in choosing friends or something.

"Why is it weird? It's natural if I guess from your appearance and your words, are you an IT person? Or maybe… a writer?" Jasver asked, guessing.

Carren chuckled back and nodded her head at Jasver in response.

"Your second answer is correct," Carren said at last.

Even though she actually knows who the young man in front of her is, it doesn't mean she will reveal her identity as a secret admirer of Jasver, right?

"Is that true? Are you serious?" Jasver mumbled, who sounded more excited than before.

"Seriously, how could I lie to my first friend," Carren told Jasver.

{Hey!!! Am I not your first friend? Why would you say that to Jasver? I'm disappointed in you}

Hearing Carla's annoyance, Carren couldn't help but straighten her words again.

"You were my first human friend," Carren said to Jasver.

Jasver briefly frowned but soon nodded his head.

He didn't want to argue about such trivial matters.

{Tsk, you cheated, you have to remember that I am the first person to be your friend and also the first person to be your vent}

Carren just nodded her head slowly, hoping that Carla would understand her.

"Oh yeah, what's your name?" Jasver asked Carren.

"Carren."

Jasver was silent and stared intently at Carren, remembering the familiar name, while introducing himself.

"Jasver Keef."

Carren pretended to frown.

"Y-you're my editor?"

"Wait, you're Carren, the author of The Liar Of Love?"

Carren gave Jasver a quick nod of her head.

'Beautiful too, Isn't this like destiny?'
