Chereads / YIN: Raised by Demons to Slay Gods / Chapter 8 - (8)Seven Years

Chapter 8 - (8)Seven Years

It had been seven years since Yuna and her brother had been kidnapped by the demons and taken to purgatory. In that time, Yuna had been made to train under Tamashi with another boy named Ygdran. She was forced to kill any friends she made, the demons saying "bonds of friendship make you weak". For some time, she thought she would be forced to fight her brother and kill him, or him her, but Tamashi said that he would be "kind enough" to keep that from happening.

Due to the training and Tamashi nurturing Yuna's Yin nature, she had gained strange abilities and powers she didn't even think possible. She had began to grow horns from her head, though they were small at the present, and scales had grown along her right arm. Her eyes had lost their blue hue, becoming a demonic red. Any time she saw her own reflection, she felt disgusted.

Over time, Yuna had grown numb to the blood, death and despair. Whereas before she would revolt and shudder at the sight of someone being killed horribly, now she just stared on blankly, unaffected by the atrocities she was a witness to.

And now, she returned to Tamashi's chamber as she did every day, where she met up with Ygdran. The chamber was a large, open area of black sand with stalactites pointing down from the ceiling. On the far end of the chamber was a throne upon which Tamashi would sit and watch.

"Goodmorning, my dear pupils!" Tamashi hollered energetically. Yuna was used to the show that Tamashi would put on everyday, she knew he was no cheerful saint. In truth, he was a brutal tyrant who constantly craved bloodshed.

"Are you ready to further your power?" Tamashi said, holding out his arms.

"I am already strong enough. What is the point of any further training?" Ygdran said.

Ygdran had completely adopted the nature of the demons. He was entirely consumed in his own desire for power, all he ever cared about was getting stronger and stronger. His appearance had changed as well, two sleek black horns protruding from his head and his eyes a vibrant scarlet. Fangs had grown from his mouth and long black claws grew from his hands. Tamashi said that he'd become a vampire.

"Oh, but in the contrary. If you were to face me or any of the demon generals, you would die so fast you wouldn't even know it happened. You may think you are tough, but you are really quite weak." Tamashi grinned. "Actually, I would say dear Yuna here is stronger than you. Her Hydra manifestation is quite a thing, you know."

Yuna payed no attention to the glare she received from Ygdran. She had learned her powers were unique and that she was her own unique race of creature. She was able to summon phantom-like serpents from her body resembling that of the heads of a hydra. If ever one were to be cut down, she would absorb the power of her opponent's attack and grow stronger. She also had the ability to summon a god-slaying sword that could sever the earth open, and her hydras could give off a toxic energy that would decay her enemies' powers, weakening them and removing their immortality.

"The perfect god-slaying weapon." Tamashi would often call her.

"Today, I have something special for you both. I would like to introduce you to one of my demon generals, Odnir. He has the unique ability to heal any wound instantaneously." Tamashi shrugged, "though, among demons, that is not necessarily unique. But his regenerative ability is stronger than even mine."

A massive ten-foot tall demon with the skull-head of an elk walked into the chamber. It was adorned in thick black armor and carried a huge wooden log.

"Don't worry, he won't kill you. But I assure you, if you get hit, you will be hurting." Tamashi said.

"This is nothing!" Ygdran hissed, hunching forward as red aura began to glow around him, flowing from his shoulders in the shape of bat-like wings. A large scarlet sword formed in his hands, the weapon double his own body size.

*KOOM*

Ygdran exploded towards the demon, the ground cracking from the force of his leap. A blur of speed, he flew at Odnir, his sword cutting cleanly through the demon's body. Ygdran's weapon had the ability of "unblockable". No matter what, it was impossible to block his brutal attacks, all you could do is dodge.

But it didn't seem to matter, as the demon's body instantly shifted as it repaired itself. The massive log was swung low to the ground, flying at Ygdran, but he held his sword to his side. A shockwave rang out from the impact as, at first, it seemed like he blocked the attack, but then he began to skid across the ground before being sent flying and crashing into the wall.

Yuna simply stood and watched, bored. She had a hard time feeling anything except boredom.

"Go on, Yuna. Attack him. Show me what you can do." Tamashi spoke.

Yuna ignored him, standing idle.

Tamashi waved his hand, motioning for Odnir to attack her.

With a demonic roar, the demon swung the log around and above its head before slamming it down on Yuna.

Blueish-black wisps formed around Yuna, four serpentine heads appearing and blocking the attack. Yuna stood in exactly the same position, unflinching, as the log was pushed back by her hydra, the ground trembling and cracking at her feet as a crater was formed where she stood.

"Yuna." Tamashi growled. "Attack, or I will have your dear brother killed."

Yuna's eyes narrowed, and then a brilliant sword of phantom-like blue flames formed in her hand and she stuck it straight upwards, a split forming in the earth as the log was severed from the demon's arm, his hand being cut off. The demon roared, retracting its arm. But the wound didn't heal. Yuna's ability to pierce through immortality also included the ability to void healing.

"Hm. Good. That is what I wanted to see, that's enough." Tamashi called. "Odnir, you may leave."

"Wait! I'm not done!" Ygdran roared, getting to his feet as red energy swarmed around his body.

"Except that you are, for now."

"No!"

"I said, that's enough." Tamashi growled, his eyes flashing as a tremendous pressure forced Ygdran to his knees.

Yuna glanced over at the boy, their eyes meeting. He glared at her with intense hatred.. and she simply shrugged him off, turning away.
