As we reached home father woke me up and we got out of the car. We went inside the house through the door and went to the living room and sat down on the couch as mother was watching her show smiled at us as she continued to watch her show as I was sitting on the couch father said," Alex if you're still tired you can go to your room and rest for a couple of hours." As I was about to refuse his words I thought of something as I said," I think I will go to my room and rest until dinner as I am quite tired so see you guys at dinner."
As I swiftly went out of the living room and went upstairs and opened and closed the door quickly as I sat on my bed but didn't go to sleep immediately as I first started to clear my mind and then focused on locating the stone as I was searching it inside my body along with my magic core/soul and after getting a glimpse of it last time I haven't seem to have found it yet but after last time I just had this urge to locate it as I focus on the stone as I slowly tried to look for it and I tried again and again but didn't find any trace of it or my magic core/soul as I thought if it were this easy to find once magic core, everybody could have done it by now and there will not be any squib's as at birth their parents would have tried to locate the magical core/soul.
But as I have read in my previous life is that every child that is born in the wizarding world possess magic some of which have only lingering magic which is of their parents and over time they lose their magic as they grow older some quickly after being born but some lose theirs after some time as the magic inside them vanishes as the evidence are given by some of the renowned healers. But I think that their magic just goes dormant inside their body and after some generations, their decedents once again reactivate the gene with dormant magic and they can perform magic.
And that's where the muggle mages come from as I read some articles in my previous life and sort of got confirmation about it by the original author of harry potter about it.
As the question asked by someone is that is Hermione Granger a squib?
Basically, it was related to Hermione's ancestry and the answer was that she had a squib as an ancestor, and she just reawakened her magical genes after many generations.
I would also like to research about that if I ever got the chance and if possible find a solution or a cure as it will boost my fame and reputation and I also have a perfect lab ra- patient for the experi- cure testing.
As I laid back on my bed and started to multitask as I activated my occlumency and also I started my magical simulation for practicing and rememorizing the theories I learned and all the other things I learned up until now. But something that I didn't know was happing in my brain as I slowly but surely created a rudimentary but ethereal.....( I will reveal it to you guys later )
As I was sleeping I heard my mother calling me for dinner as I got up from my bed and went to the washroom and splashed some water on my face and then took a towel from the stand and gently wiped my face then I went downstairs as I went to the dining table and sat down on the chair as the dinner was already set as mother said," Alex did you sleep well or are you still feeling tired if you are you don't have to help out today I and your father will manage the cleaning so you can just go to sleep after eating."
But this time I shook my head in refusal as I said," No mom I'm good now and I will do the cleaning after eating so you just relax and chat or watch some T.V."
As she tried to convince me but I said," mother I just want to help at the house and some time with you guys so, please let me do this please." As I said that she just nodded but then James said," Okay so let's dig in and eat your mother's deliciously cooked food."
And then we ate the food and it was truly delicious for muggle standards as I have eaten the food made by 'sugar and candy' and they are really great. If only the status of secrecy thing was not there I could have at the very least I could have let them enjoy some good food of the wizarding world but I will be able to in the future as I will be a part of the wizarding world.
As we ate our food and cleaned up I talked to them for some time before we went to sleep in our rooms and bid them goodnight. As I went back to my room I lay on my bed as I started to practice my occlumency and my magical simulation side by side to once more incorporate everything I learned.
Morning came as I woke up and sat up on my bed as I stretch my arms. Then I went to the washroom as I did the deed and then went to the living room and said good morning to father and mother as I went out for my routine jogging.
I returned to the house and I went to the living room to tell them that I was home and will be going upstairs to take a shower and then eat some breakfast. As I took a shower and came to eat some breakfast and we ate our breakfast as James asked," How was your jogging Alex" and I replied, "it was quite good as I can take in all the fresh air and not the polluted air and I feel as if I can jog for some more time as I jogged and also your training also helped me as I feel my flexibility has increased very much but I think you have to increase my training weights weight as I can hardly feel any weight now."
As he heard it he asked," Are you sure about that Alex because for your age, height, and weight it is the optimal weight if I increased it any more it will put quite a lot of strain on your legs and arms and your whole body as you will feel quite heavy may and even lose your balance." But I said," I think I can handle it now father as I seriously can't feel the weight of the training weights that you have given me previously. But if you think you should or should not I can use the weights when I train today for some time and if you think that I should not increase them I will not ask again until you do it yourself."
As he listened he said, " I think it's a great idea, Alex. So when you have finished your breakfast take some rest and then come to the training place."
" okay father. I will do what you said." I replied and then started eating my breakfast.
It was sometime as I have rested enough and I got up from the couch as I went to the training place as father was waiting there and after I reached there he said, " Let me see if you need to increase the weights on your ankle and wrists or not first we will do some obstacle course training so that I can also check on your flexibility and agility with weights on of course your idea." And I nodded at him as I stretched my arms and legs as I started to jump at one place to warm up my body as I said," I ready." And he said," okay then ready set go."
And I ran as I also focused my mind, my sight, my hearing, and all of the other senses to the maximum as I dodged a big ball coming towards me as I balanced myself on the narrow beam as punches came from the sides and I dodged them all but one of them came a little to close but at the moment of it connecting my body I jumped up and propelled my body forward but one more punch came at me as I was still in mid-air but because of me maximizing my senses currently I saw it coming as I mid-air changed my position to embryo position as I was still flipping in the air and the punch went right under me as I released my knees and landed on my toes but the obstacle course was still not over yet as I have to climb a wall same as the mountain climbers used to strengthen their grips and also to make themselves flexible but on this course many stones which are embedded in the wall are loose and if applied more pressure than necessary they will come off as I readied myself for this course and started running towards the wall as I jumped up and used minimum pressure as I grabbed one loose and one strongly embedded one and put some more pressure on the stronger one and with my other hand grabbed another stone wich was to my relief a strongly embedded one as I once again pulled my self up and started to speed climb the wall as I don't have enough time to take rest with many of them being loose stones and after some moments I completed the climb as I rested for some time as I have in front of me the giant wall and I have to build up my speed to cross that so I have to even my breathing a little.
As I started to run toward the wall as I approached the wall a big ball came at me as I thought ' this is new same as the punches where that one came too close to me as it was hidden just behind the first punch and I didn't catch a glimpse of it. As I dodged the ball which went forward with its momentum as I lost some of my speed but I was confident to still make it but at this time as I was running and climbing the wall as a contraption opened and it was just where I would have to put my foot for the next push but there it was and I thought ' seriously a contraption on a giant wall what are you training me for the spy kids ' as I used my hands and my other foot to push myself up and backed flipped somehow making it but nearly falling back as I balanced myself and let out a long breath as I looked back to see him somewhat surprised but he the started smiling again as looked at him bewildered at his thinking and thought,' this man is really scary when he wants to be and I can guarantee it that this course if not for my use would have been very deadly obstacle course as in place of punches it would have been pikes or something similar to it would have been present of some more lethal.
And thank this stone for providing me with its energy and then my shattered magical core/soul to make it into my own magical energy and by using that I made that jump with quite a difficulty.'
As I rested enough I started to move forward now I have to swing on some ropes and walk on the wobbly plank and cross it and then I have to do some upper body lifting as I had previously watched on the T.V. series of the arrow where Oliver exercises and same thing on American ninja warriors and them some more upper body lifting and then it would end and I had a premonition that they are also not how they looked like and so I continued with the course and after finishing it I just laid there for some time as I was dead tired as I rested father came to me and said," Okay then today's training is complete and I will give you your new weights after you have rested. Well never thought you would complete it this quickly and only with three retries count me impressed."
And I was speechless as he said all that and for some time my mind even with occlumency showed error signs as I thought ' I have one hell of a scary adoptive father spies are not the people you should piss off or the next step you take can become your last.' As I just nodded and after more resting, I got up and started to change, and then we went to our house.
As we reached home I got out and went straight to take a bath as I had sweated buckets today and needed some much-needed bath time for myself as I have earned it.
After bathing I came to the dining area as I sat on the chair and father was in the bath right now as I asked," Mother is there something to eat I am somewhat hungry/" and she nodded and gave me something to eat after that as I ate and watched some T.V. father came to the living room as well as he said, " after dining at something I will take you to the fernsbys house." And I nodded as I changed after eating.
As we headed towards the car I waved back at mother who was waving at me as we drove off toward grandma and grandpa's house.
At grandma and grandpa's house, three people were sitting on chairs as they were discussing something.
Grandma: did you receive any clue about that?
Grandpa: No I didn't receive any new news about anything for some time something must have happened. I also didn't send any letter owls to any of them as I fear that my last owl has been intercepted and they are being targeted. What happened on your side Mr.Rumberry did you get anything to help us.
Mr.Rumberry: I had received some intel but I don't think it's reliable as it came from one of the former death eaters and I don't think that it's logical to believe a death eater even if he's a former one.
Grandma: sigh.. So we are back to where we started its as if someone is trying to keep us in a loop and is deliberately placing some crumbs of clues and then we go on a goose chase. I just don't like to be in the dark about this affair it's really important as both death eaters and the order remnants are trying to find and search for some clues as well and some of them are brave enough to even come near us and our house for snooping and scouting they are thinking too lightly of us.
Grandpa: I know the feeling to you know I have already dealt with some death eaters and the order members as well but moody is still not giving up and he's too paranoid for us to talk to him as he thinks all us as enemies except for albus as he has hired moody for searching for some clues as well so he is also out of the equation so yes we are back to square one. Mr.Rumberry what happened to all the paper works related to that company as we are still living in the muggle world and we have to have some things as we now have accepted a student and he's also our grandson so we have to do something for him.
Mr.Rumberry: I have made all the arrangements and the paperwork have been already submitted to the muggle prime minister and even so remunerations have been given to him to immediately work on it and after completing it he will again be given somethings as a token of our gratitude for the work it's just that it will take some more time.
Grandma: will it be done before his eighth birthday or will it be delayed.
Mr.Rumberry: I will try my best to make it up and running and also purchase and hire people for the work and all the renovations to be done at the same time.
Grandpa: thank you, Tim, for your hard work we will also give you some good things as compensation.
Mr.Rumberry: no need for that just give me my due fees and we will be straight. And if you don't mind can you guys at least introduce me to the kid you have been too secretive about him and also hid him from me as well is this how you treat your friend who is sticking his neck out for you guys.
Grandpa: it's not like that Tim we are only trying to protect him and also trying to cover up his status and relationship with us for the time being. But if the need arise and we are not around here or some unforeseen circumstances occurred in that case I have already left you instructions and the things you have to do to ensure his safety.
But we also want him to have something so that he can do what he wants and he is an intelligent kid and quite mature for his age so I think he will manage even if something happens to us. And also we can't protect him from our enemies forever as when he starts attending Hogwarts he will face pressure from the other pureblood families as he's not the one who will tolerate being someone stepping stone and he will retaliate with everything he has and that's where you will come in and you are experienced enough to take care of everything. And we trust you on this.
Mr. Rumberry: I know that already and you guys will be fine and nothing will happen to you two. So take care of your grandson on your own. But I will support him if anything happened that he cannot solve himself. And I will also manage the paperwork for all the things you planned and also the validation you talked about. So please don't do anything rash, you guys.
Grandma: On that, we cannot promise anything as you know our decision is final on that. But you can rest assured that until we get any clue about it we will do not make a move on that I can have our word.
Mr. Rumberry: I will take that as an answer only when you introduce me to that boy but enough for today as I have a lot of work to do so later.
As he got inside the fireplace and used the floor powder to go to his own place ( where ever that is ) and at this time the honking of the horn sounded as they also took their places. As Richard came out to greet the kid and the man with a smile on his face as the came out of the car and hugged him as he did the same and told him to go inside as his grandma is where she always is and the kid waved back to the man and Richard and the man( James) chatted with each other for some time after bidding goodbyes to each other James sat inside his car and drove off as Richard got back inside his house.
I (alex) came inside the study to see grandma reading another book her usual activity as I see every day her doing that as I approached her and gave her a hug I asked," Grandma what are you always reading."
And she said," I will tell you when the time comes. Did you practice your occlumency?"
As I nodded and said," yes I have been regularly practicing it every day."
Grandma: good kid you are a resilient little boy Alex. Now let me see how much you have progressed in these days of practicing occlumency. Today I will attack you but the attacks will be hidden as you have to protect against hidden attacks as well because it's always unknown that defeats a person as nobody expects to be hit in the back by an unknown enemy.
Alex: Yes grandma I understand your words clearly. But sometimes the hidden enemy can get a little too cocky and gets hit by their prey as constant vigilance can become a major part of it
Grandma: Oho now you are trying to teach me about constant vigilance young man. I must say at least your courage is commendable is that a trait of a Gryffindor I see in you are you planning to enter Gryffindor house at Hogwarts school.
Alex: Don't know about it as I haven't thought about it yet but you will know which house I will enter.
Grandma: Okay let's start the lesson close your eyes as you have to learn to fight off enemies who can get inside your mind without eye contact but they will also exert a lot more magic and strain their minds to enter your mind as it's not easy to enter another's mind without direct contact with eyes as eyes work as a medium for others to enter your mind and vice versa. Now focus and here I come.
As she tried to enter my mind I raise my shield and at first, she attacked in a straightforward was I was confident that I could block her attack but she in the next instant broke through my shield as felt pain all over as she withdrew her mind power she said," that was just a feint and you fell for it. You still have a long way to go take a five-minute break and we will do it again as it will be a serious problem if you can't master it. But I'll at least make sure that you learn how to detect a legilimens hidden attacks."
As we continued to go back and forth as she attacked and I defended and it was a shit ton harder than just learning theories about it and those damned fanfictions and those Mc's make it seem like it's sunshine and Daisies but it not right now my mind is totally feel like a mess by constantly attacking and defending at least I can gain experience as I continue to endure it all I sound like those Chinese masochist MC's. But I don't have any other way out of this as I can only endure it all and make all this pain into the experience so that I can do better when I try next as I still haven't thought about the second shield. At this time I heard a voice in all this pain, " that's all for today we will practice tomorrow as you have some lesson with Richard also so take some time to rest and then we will go to the room as she said that I was still trying to get all this pain go away as I just nodded at her words.
After some time we got up from our chairs and went to the room with no door as we entered Richard was waiting inside the room.
As he said," You look tired are you sure you don't want any more rest alex."
Alex: No I'm fine now we can start.
And he nodded and said," Okay today we ate going to learn some fire-related spells some more transfiguration some charms and hexes and hinges. So what do you want to learn first."
As I thought about it and said," some jinxes first then charms then some Transfiguration and then some fire-related spells."
And he nodded and said," I thought that you would choose fire-related spells but jinxes let's see.
As he started thinking about it and he then said after some thinking," do you know about knockback jinx."
I nodded and he said," then I will teach you later now look here."
As he said this I looked at the corner and there was an ordinary-looking chest laying on the ground as I asked," when did that chest get here when I entered I didn't notice it was there."
As he chuckled lightly and said," it was there the whole time and when I said you to look I just removed the spell which I placed on it and I will teach you that and also one more spell with it so don't be hasty."
But I then asked again," grandpa I didn't hear you say any incantation so how did you end that spell."
And he chuckled again at my question and said," have you ever heard or read about nonverbal incantation it was that I did and you will also be able to do it someday so don't let it bother you. See that chest you have to go and open it and take out a book from inside simple isn't it now go."
As I went towards the chest I thought ' I was already duped once today my father and now my spidey senses feel something is also not right with this chest what to do should I just go and check or I can also ask grandpa something ' as I stopped and turned towards grandpa to only see his smile slowly receding as I concluded that today was not going to be an easy day as in the morning it was father and now its grandpa who was playing tricks on me as I asked," you don't happen to cast an anti-intruder jinx on the chest did you if you did not then can you please cast a revelio charm on the chest just to make my suspicions subside a little." As I smiled at the end of my sentence.
And then I heard 'haha' from grandma and my suspension came true as I thought ' what the hell is wrong with them today ' as he said," you are quite vigilant kid I like it. As children from your generation only want to do magic quickly and forget about the most important thing vigilance but you surprised me as I thought that you would also go to open the chest and get shocked but I had already reduced the potency of the shock to just a buzz so you could handle it but I never thought that you would ask me to cast revelio on the chest.
You have quite good judgment Alex always be prepared for any situation. And as a bonus for you judgement, I will also teach you revelio and some more spells but I will do that later."
And I just nodded and also tried to hide my annoyances about all the tricks that these men tried to pull on me today.
As I asked," did father told you about my obstacle course training today."
As he laughed at my question and said," yes he did we share quite a bit of thing with each other. Though I did not tell him about your magic practices with us but they are spies you know they would notice some changes which normal people would pick up if you live with them so I told him some of the things that we taught you when you here but not magic for reasons you also know but in due time we will tell them both about it."
And I just nodded my head and didn't say anything as he began to teach me about the jinx.
Grandpa: this jinx is called Anti-intruder jinx as you guessed it. It prevents intruders from entering an area or if cast on an object it will also work the same as I have it on the chest but that's not all I casted on the chest as I also cast a diluted version of the electrifying spell and also anti-alohomora spell so that you cannot open it with alohomora.
As he began to teach me about the theories of the to 'anti' spells and how I can put those in use.
After going over the theories and asking questions and giving answers I had done it only in two tries as I had also added the anti-alohomors spell as well as a shocking spell and when I was done I told grandpa to check it out for me as I mumbled 'got you' as he was just about to touch it with his bare hands or so I thought as he with his other hand took out his wand and fired a cheat opening spell and with a booming sound the chest opened and I clicked my tongue as he chuckled and said," you are still too young for pulling my trick on me young man you should practice your occlumency more as you're still not able to detect hidden legilimency but it commendable that you also added your own version of shocking spell after seeing once my electricity spell Good good."
But my mind was still on those words 'hidden legilimency' as I thought he was able to read my mind without me noticing now that's something to get scared shitless about. I have to work harder to overcome this weakness. As I again nodded on his words as we continued on.
As next on the list was knockback jinx which was quite simple as I just have to imagine and add intent in my spells with correct wand movement as I said," Flipendo." And the wooden dummy got knocked back from its place and I was praised once again by grandpa.
As I continued to learn theories and casting spells and time went on and at last, it was time to learn some fire type spells as he said," now Alex you only have to learn some of the fire type spells as it is the same as the water types spell you just have to imagine and draw out the energy of fire element in your body and merge it with your own magic as point the wand towards the dummy and the incantation is Incendio."
As I also said," Incendio." And from the tip of my wand, a big ball of fire came out and started to burn the wooden dummy, and after some time there was only ashes on the floor. As I had also felt quite tired after the spells casting as I sat on the floor as well.
As Richard saw this he said," okay I think it enough for today as you should take some rest, and James will be here after some time.
As we came out of the room and sat on the chairs as sugar and candy came with some refreshments and they placed it on the table as we ate and drink some juice and when I had eaten I heard a honking sound from outside as I and grandma and grandpa we three went together to the door as I opened the door and there was father was standing after the opening the door of his car as I went towards the car after I bid my goodbyes and hugged grandma as they waved at us and we drove off towards our house.
