"What do you think you are doing?" Jude asked Emily who just walked into the house. Emily was frightened for a second. she did not expect to meet anyone inside the house.
She lived alone since it was not yet time for her to be seen with Jude. She did not even expect to meet anyone awake by that time of the night. She had expected Jude's call all day. Apparently, he decided to wait up for her and have the conversation face to face. She knew he would not accept her plan B which is why she never run the idea by him.
"Plan B," Emily answered when she had put herself together.
"What kind, of a plan is that? The Browns will destroy you before you become a competition," Jude snaps.
"I know," Emily answered taking her sit.
"If you know, then Why would you self-destruct?" He asked. He was really pissed by Emily's impulsive decision. He thought she has grown and learned the meaning of patience. They planned to get close to the Browns so that they could strike from inside. They needed to take advantage of the element of surprise. Her move this afternoon could be seen as a declaration of war, which will not work in their favor.
"I am not self-destructing. I am falling on plan B. If you have not noticed the Browns are already trying to destroy us," Emily replied.
"I know that, which is why you should have acted weak so they don't pay full attention to us," Jude countered.
"Hmm, But why give away the chance to fight. After all, we have a good weapon in our hands to fight. We have the public to our advantage. They can't go overboard with all the eyes watching. You should know that it was the Browns that sent that reporter earlier," Emily replied.
"So?" Jude asked with raised brows.
"So the plan is to make the move and anticipate their counter-attack," Emily explained.
Jude narrows her eyes at her, waiting for her to continue explaining. He had a feeling that he was not going to like her so-called plan B.
"The Browns will not let us collaborate with the Sky group. I am counting on their actions to keep us on the news.," Emily said.
"So you are doing all this to stay in the news?" Jude asked dumbfounded. He did not know whether to laugh or feel sorry for thinking that Emily could handle things. He felt that if his late boss had not pampered her so much when she was young things might not have gotten to this.
"Not really, Being in the news is just the bounce that comes with the plan. You know it free publicist right? Emily replied.
"Oh, so tell me more about this plan? Jude asked. He needed to listen to her and find a way to end this madness she called a plan. He was afraid that if he did not act this way Emily will not tell him and act on her own.
Emily took a deep breath, she hated to explain her plans in detail to anyone but she trusted Jude. He had been by her side seen the death of her family. She could never question his loyalty but they were maids in the house and she was not sure if they were trustworthy.
Jude noticed the hesitation in her eyes. He looked at her questioning.
"We need funds, if we stay in the news, we get more publicity. Have you not noticed the raise in our stock and sales. So the plan is to fund the project nabot ourselves," Emily explained.
Jude took a deep breath, he knew Emily was only expanding the benefit of being in the news. she was not stupid enough to believe that ABM will let her fund project Nabot herself. Of course, she should anticipate them sabotaging her work.
He also understood why she was lying. Five years ago it was a domestic staff that betrayed the Williams. Although he is hand-picked all her staff, he knew they could not be too careful. Even his real identity is properly hidden from everyone in the house. Not even Gabriel is aware of the truth.
He had learned the act of disguise a long time ago while working for Williams's cooperation. But he still chooses not to show up in public so that people will not try to investigate him and blow up his cover.
Everyone that knows Jude now, knows him as Robert. The friend of late Mr. White. So nobody saw anything out of place when he helped her occasionally. Besides his identity was not something anyone will bother to look into since he could not be considered rich.
"Let's discourse about the collaboration with the Sky group in my study, Emily said getting up. While Jude followed her to the study.
When they got inside Jude made sure to lock the door before taking his seat. Spill he said.
The study was a safe place to talk because it was soundproof and out of bounds for all the workers.
"Why did we announce project Nabot?" Emily asked.
"To get attention and raise funds," Jude answered.
"So I am using it to the fullest," she said passing the signed documents to Jude. After her press meeting earlier, she took a secret flight to country Kay to sign the collaboration with the Sky group. Jude took it and flip through the pages.
He has read the document before so he just scan through it to see if there was something new. He pauses to read through the teams and conditions for termination for partnership. The last condition got his attention.
( If party A (Stem) decides to cancel the partnership, party A will sell all rights of project Nabot to party B (sky group) as compassion.
If party B (sky group) decides to cancel the partnership, Party B is expected to pay party A (Stem) forty percent of the cost of the project as compassion.)
He read it out loud and raised his eyebrow to look at Emily. He wanted her to explain why she will be willing to sell off project Nabot.
"Why will you offer to sell it?"
