Gabriel paused for a short moment before greeting Emily his attitude was not arrogant but it was not as humble as that of a subordinate. After which he took the empty seat next to Emily. Then he asked his secretary to read the minute of the last meeting. After that, the managers started reporting for the month.
Kevin was seated at the Conner taking note, the meeting lasted for two hours. When they just started some of the managers were not comfortable but when they saw Gabriel leading the meeting as usual they all relaxed.
Emily looked at Gabriel and sighed mentally, in the two hours of the meeting all Emily did was try to understand each and everyone at the table. She wanted to know who to guild against. she knew that her best chance of understanding these people was when they were not guided against her like at that moment, they were treating her like a figurehead.
In the past, she had only spoken to Gabriel on the phone so it could be said that this was the first time she was accessing him and she was disappointed. Gabriel was a very proud man, after enjoying the seat of the president for the past five years he forgot his position. He leads the meeting without giving room for Emily to say something.
This went on to confirm the rumors that started yesterday after Emily's identity was revived. A lot of people were made to believe that she was just a person who had money without talent. Many people praised Gabriel for being an honest man since he could have easily stolen her money without her realizing it.
Gabriel has been praised so much that he forgot his position, in his mind just like people said Emily should be grateful that he did not steal her money and run away. He forgets that he never had direct access to the money in the first place. He would be unable to steal the money even if he wanted to.
He also forgot that all the decision that has brought Stem to the height it was at that time were made by Emily. No doubt Gabriel was good at carrying out any work given to him, but he was never smart enough to think of plans. Since he had carried out all the instructions he did not feel he was wrong to take all the glory for the success of stem in the last five years.
So he naturally became full of himself and wanted to suppress Emily in the meeting, so he deliberately ignore Emily after each report and call for the next person without giving Emily the chance to say anything. Some of the managers felt that this was not right but they did not dare voice it. In their opinion, it was best to stay away when two elephants were fighting so they do not get crushed in between.
"We have come to the end of the meeting" Gabriel announced and got up from his seat.
"sit" was the first word that came out of Emily's mouth. Gabriel felt like he has been slapped hard on his face. "Emily, I have another appointment in the next ten minutes" Gabriel did not want to obey her but he could not directly disobey her, even if he was the vice president of the company he only had five percent shares. He directly called her name, because he wanted to prove to the managers that she listening to him.
"Cancel it" she did not even ask what the appointment was about before she asked him to cancel it. Gabriel was angry but he could only grit his teeth secretly, he knew that he will not gain any benefits from challenging her authority. He turned to his sectary and asked him to make the call. The meeting was not so important. In fact, it was in another two hours. This is why he did not dare to argue and immediately gave out the instruction.
His sectary understood this so he just stepped out of the meeting hall. Emily swept her eyes through all the people present.
"Here." She passed some documents to Kevin, since they were all not paying attention to her they did not notice that she had been working on the documents that they shared. Four managers had presented. Kevin looked at the document in his hands and realized that many parts of it has been marked with a pen. "pass it to the managers responsibly" Emily instructed. She has not been working with Kevin for so long so it was not out of place for him not to understand her meaning by giving the document to him.
Kevin did as was told after each manager collected the document they looked at it, they did not manage to hide their shocked expression. None of them had expected her to pick out the error in their presentation in such a short time after all it was said that she was only a spoiled brat so they were indeed amazed, many of them immediately adjusted their seating position.
"I want the correction on my table at the start of work tomorrow. If you do not have it at the right time. Fifteen percent of your bounce for the year will be taken. For each day that you delay the company is losing money so there is no point for you to return home with such a large bounce at the end of the year" Emily said.
Those who wanted to complain after they heard the first sentence immediately swallowed back the words. The managers who have not presented took a deep breath. Since they needed to get other work done the meeting has been divided into three days so that each manager will have enough time.
"As for tomorrow's meeting, for each minute you are late you will be losing five percent of your monthly payment," after saying this Emily got up to her feet and walked out of the room followed by Kevin. the only reason why she overlooked their behavior today was that it was their first meeting. Gabriel's face was red as if he has been slapped on his cheeks severally, his hand was balled into a fist, to control himself. He felt that Emily just wanted to embarrass him. He did not realize that he had been rude and that what happened was only his fault. if he had given Emily the respect that she deserved then she would have no reason to react like this.
Usually, he will report the meeting to Emily after it was over then she will make the correction and tell him what needed to be done. He had never been able to read through the document in such a small time.
"is it just me or is our CEO, a little too scary for a woman," one of the managers asked his friend that was sitting next to him.
Without saying anything, the friend got up.
"I still have to make some correction, I do not want part with a part of my bounce," after saying this he walked out of the meeting hall. The other managers who had the same issue also left the room. Who would want to lose a part of their money?
Those who were yet to present decide to go back to their office and check for errors who knows if they will also get their money deducted for mistakes they forgot to correct.
