The shade was a bit small but the man happily moved for them to join him. It continued to rain with no sign of stopping anytime soon.
After waiting for fifteen minutes with no sign of any cabs the men become tried. The man they met in the shade took out his phone and made a call.
"I will be there shortly, you will not be able to get a cab soon. There has been an accident and the road is blocked," the person who picked up the phone said.
"Alright, I will wait for you," the man said and ended the call. The so-called shade did little next to nothing to shield them from the rain. The men were getting cold with every passing moment.
Mr. Adams and the other two managers kept cursing Emily in their hearts. In their mind they did nothing wrong, it was just Emily who is an overbearing boss.
"There seems to be a traffic Jam," the man informed the three men whose faces turned stiff. They could not explain why everything was going wrong after resigning from their jobs.
"I am Jin, I work at ABM," the man introduced himself.
"Adams," Mr. Adams said, he suddenly realize that he no longer had a job.
"Oh, no wonder your face looks family, you are the product manager of Steam right?" Jin smiled.
Mr. Adams's face was stiff, he was not a known person before he became a manager in steam but he thought special of himself. Steam could go on without him, but there was no assurance that he will continue to enjoy a good position in his next job.
The other two former managers introduce themselves to ease the awareness.
"I am Rolland, it nice to meet you, Mr. Jin," Jin had a questioning look on his face seeing the way the men acted, but he still reach out to shake the hand Roland, extended.
" Moses, " the second man said. Jin shook and the four men become quiet again. Ten minutes later, a car pulled over, Jim wanted to leave, but he turned to them.
"Where are you going? If it's on my way I will give you guys a lift," Jim said. He could tell that something was wrong with the three men.
Even if Steam could not be compared with ABM they did not treat their staff any worst. As managers they should have official cars, so why we're the three of them walking in the rain.
"We live at glory estate," Mr. Adams replied. Even if this man has picked his sore spot he knew that they needed the help of the man.
"What a coincidence, I also leave in Glory estate, my house is at the first gate," Jin said as he took the co-driver seat and allowed the three men to take the back seat.
"Oh, we live at the second gate, but it's no problem they are not so far apart," Mr. Adams said.
"It's not a problem I will drop you at the second gate, after all, is still quite a distance inside the estate," Mr. Jin smiled.
"Thank you," the three men were grateful.
The top floor of Steam.
Emily stood by the window and looked at the downpour of the rain. When she was young she liked playing in the rain with her brothers. It gave her a warm feeling.
Back then her mum will always punish her brother for not teaching her better. "Elizabeth, you will catch cold playing in the rain," her mother's voice rang in her ears.
When her mother realize she would not listen she started guarding her once it was raining. She did not know what it was about the rain but she loved the feeling.
"See Mum, I have grown up, I feel like playing in the rain anymore, but you are not here to see it," Emily shook her head. A smile was playing on her lips as she remembered all the happy moments.
Since the death of her family, the rain was a form of comfort to her, as it made her remember the happy times with her brothers instead of the nightmares of their death.
*ring *ring
The ringing of her phone woke her up from a stupor. Emily took a deep breath and walked to her work table to pick up the phone.
"The three families have successfully been chased out of the houses," the person called said as soon as she answered the call.
"Good, watch the internet if they decide to use public opinion, fan the flames a little," Emily replied.
"Got it," the person said and ended the call. She knew that a lot of people looked down on her in the company but she wanted to remind them all that, even if she was just a spoiled brat, her money is the reason why their life was so comfortable at the moment.
"Let's see how powerful you can be," Emily smirked.
After hanging up the call, Emily made another call, "Have you contacted the people I told you about?" She as asked as soon as the call was picked.
"Of course, princess, they will be at the company tomorrow," the person replied.
"Thank you, you are a life server," Emily smiled.
"Of course, I am your life server little princess, otherwise after acting so wilful you would have learned the consequences," the person replied.
"Sure, sure, hope these people can be trusted?" Emily asked. To be honest, she was not kin about getting an excellent staff, all she cared about was if the person was honest and could be trusted.
"Definitely, you know me, I do not associate with people that can not be trusted, you will like them, trust me," the person said.
"Of course, I trust you," Emily said and hang up the call. She knew for a fact that ABM already have their spy in the company, this is why she needed these people to come over and help her clean up.
"It been five years, two months, and three weeks since you left, he will pay," Emily's voice tremble as she spoke.
