This was embarrassing. I should be the editor, not Ian Sullivan's assistant! What if Justin found out I failed the editor position? No, he mustn't know. I didn't want to disappoint him. I'd been trying to please him so far. And I wanted to prove that I could achieve my dream of becoming an editor—even chief editor—at a print media company on my own.

According to Carmen, I could work from tomorrow morning. Candice was so busy working on the deadlines piled up on her desk that she wasn't able to see me. We only talked briefly on the cell phone, only briefly, before finally the connection was cut off siince she still had a lot of work to do.

This was not fair. The super-duper stupid Candice could get a position as an editor but me as a personal assistant? The world had gone crazy.
