Hearing what the Pharaoh said, the two Queens went silent and stared at the pharaoh. They weren't expecting him to say something like that.
Queen Takhat looked at Queen Tati with her eyes slightly widened, but the look on the Queen's face only made her look away in disappointment. She have being silent with everything that happened cause it had to do with her son, her son committed an atrocity against the gods, his family, Satiah and everyone in Egypt by marrying the destined Queen. She faced all the insults and guilt but never expected them to go this far. She never expected the Pharaoh to say something like this. This time, she's not going to keep quiet.
"I am sorry your majesty but I object to this." she said and gained the attention of everyone present in the room.
Queen Baketmut face contorted in anger as she glared at Takhat. The nerve of the woman...
Queen Takhat stepped forward and bowed to the Pharaoh. "I am sorry for speaking out, but It's against the law of the land to give a man's wife to another man." She went on, "We all know what will happen to who ever commit this grave sin. It is considered adultery and punishable by the law. Let's not forget what happened to the past pharaoh who did that. He was struck dead. A curse will be on us and our children if we dare do it."
The pharaoh narrowed his eyes as he considered what she said. She was right, a curse will be upon them. Giving a man's wife to another is committing a grave sin. He saw what happened to his grandfather when he forcefully married another man's wife.
"I pray you consider my words. Queen Baketmut should go as you said as Satiah's mother in-law in the eyes of the people and I will go with her to welcome Satiah as the tradition says." Queen Takhat said softly.
The pharaoh nodded with a satisfied smile on his face. He was impressed with the idea his last Queen brought. He never knew his queen could bring out such a brilliance idea and was surprised by her wise suggestion.
He snapped his fingers, "Brilliant, such a brilliant idea. Queen Baketmut, go with Queen Takhat just as she said."
Queen Baketmut clenched her fist by her side. Another insult to her face. First Takhat son took her son's place and now the Pharaoh told her to go after her. Queen Takhat is doing everything to win the pharaoh heart and it angered Baketmut the more because she couldn't do anything about it or even show the lowly harlot her place. Queen Takhat will have to pay for the insults she received, Baketmut promised silently.
She bowed to the Pharaoh and left the room not without giving Takhat a glare.
Queen Tati on the other hand, stared at Takhat, not revealing what she was thinking that moment. Her stares were of someone who had a cunning plan in mind or one with so much hatred and has the will to kill. The Pharaoh gave her the praise meant for her which is unacceptable by her. Queen Takhat was unaware of the evil the two queens thought of her, she was glad the Pharaoh listened to her and that was all that mattered at that moment.
"Get the gifts for the chief priest ready, my daughter in-law is coming home soon." the pharaoh said out loud to the guards by the entrance, who immediately ran out to carry out his orders. Takhat bowed to the Pharaoh and queen Regnant and left the chamber.
.....
The two queens sat in two different palanquin, as they were being carried to the chief priest courtyard. The both of them had different thoughts in mind as one thought evil and the other was worried.
The thought of the pharaoh favoring queen Takhat didn't leave the mind of Baketmut. Her position was slowly being taken away. The pharaoh looked at Takhat with an admiration she wanted for herself. The woman was using a dark magic on him.
Queen Takhat exhaled deeply and blinked the tears gathered in her eyes away. She was lost in thought that she don't know when she got a teary eyes. Her son was banished when he was just eight. He was away from his mother for fifteen years. All alone in the forbidden hills, with no love, no care, no light. All alone. Now he's back.
Looking at her son after all this years, she felt a huge pierce in her heart. Her sweet little boy wasn't the same again. She felt no emotion coming from him. He didn't look at her and now, he left without even seeing her.
Will her son love her again? Will he ever forgive her? She let go of his hand and never fought for him when he was little. She watched as he cried and begged for her help, but she said nothing or do anything to help him and watch him being carried away to a place like hell. She felt, he don't know her anymore.
The voice of the Queens security guards chief brought her out of her memory lane. She moved the curtain a little and noticed they were in front of the chief priest courtyard. Quickly, she adjusted her kalaris and shawl. She wiped her tears away and forced out a smile, before she came out of the palanquin.
The first face she met was Queen Baketmut's, who looked at her with so much hatred. Takhat was used to it, it was something she gets all the time from her senior wife. She looked away from Baketmut and walked ahead to the gate entrance of the courtyard.
The two women were allowed in and were welcomed by Semat. Semat knew why they were there and was prepared for it. This time, she support the decision her husband made for their daughter and will support him fully on it. It was all for the betterment of Satiah, she can't end up with the fourth demonic prince. He is dangerous.
She was expecting Queen Takhat but seeing Queen Baketmut, she thought she was there to apologize for their mistakes but an apology won't be acceptable.
The chief priest walked out of the house and bowed to the queens.
"We are here to take our new daughter in-law home," Takhat said with a huge smile. She looked around and looked back at the chief priest, "Where is she?"
The chief priest bowed his head, "I am afraid to tell you but the princess is far gone away from Egypt, she will be in Babylon by now." he said flatly.
Takhat eyes widened in shock while Baketmut face hardened. They didn't expect the chief priest to act so quick and take his daughter away from Egypt even though he knew the punishment for that.
Takhat felt bad for the chief priest and his wife. It must have being so hard for the parents and that was why they took their daughter away. Her son is rumored to have million demons inside him and that must have made them scared and worried.
"You took her away? How dare you do something like that? You all will pay for insulting the royal family this way. How dare you take her away?" Queen Baketmut bursted out, raging in anger. She wasn't taking it as Takhat did.
The chief priest, not moved by her outburst, stood up straight and faced her. "She is my daughter and I have the right to make a decision for her. She is suppose to marry the crown prince but didn't, so she had nothing to do at the palace." he said.
Baketmut raised her hand to slap the priest but a soft call stopped her. Everyone turned their attention towards the young beautiful lady by the door.
She walked forward and bowed to the two queens. "I am sorry for wasting your time and not coming out earlier. I am still in Egypt and I am going nowhere. The only place I am going to is the palace, my new home." she said.
