The chief priest shot her a black look but Satiah cared less. She wasn't going to let anyone win in her story. She is the main character of her story and so will make everything work right.
"Pardon my father your highness, he was just worried about his daughter. I am going no where except the palace." she said boldly.
The chief priest couldn't believe what was happening. He never expected her to disobey his command and come outside.
He walked to her and grabbed her hand, "Satiah you are going nowhere near the palace, you aren't the destined queen anymore. You are leaving for Babylon immediately."
"Well father, I think you forgot something here. You don't have the right to tell me what to do or what not to do anyone, I am a married woman now and can make decisions for myself. It's my decision to stay with my husband or not and not yours. Whatever the consequences may be, I will bear it." Satiah responded in a serious voice.
The chief priest slowly let go of her hand with his eyes still on her. The seriousness on her face made him realize she wasn't going back on her decision and will stay true to her words.
"If you go to the palace, then you are not my daughter anymore." he threatened.
Satiah shook her head and moved back. Was she even their daughter in the first place? She is only a girl from the future leaving inside their daughter's body and planned on doing a lot of things with her body. His threat meant nothing to her. She looked at him, not breaking eye contact.
To his shock, she smiled and moved back a little. "I will go with the Queens."
The chief priest clenched his fist and his face hardened. He least expected her reply. What happened to his daughter? She was against her marriage to the crown priest and now, she is willing to go with the two Queens to the palace she once dread even at the expense of losing her parent.
What went wrong?
He looked away, breaking eyes contact and bowed to the Queens, "Permit me to leave now." he said dryly and without their reply, he went back to the courtyard.
Semat had her mouth slightly opened when she heard what her daughter said. She prayed it was a dream but it wasn't. Her daughter was willing to go with the Queens and even lose her parent in the process. Did she hate them that much. A tear dropped down her cheek as she looked down still trying to let everything sink in. Her daughter will never say or do anything to disappoint her parent but now, she don't mind losing her parent.
Is the girl standing in front of her her daughter or an imposter who possessed her?
Satiah bowed to Queen Takhat, who walked forward with a crown with the head of a snake on her hand. She touched her cheek lovingly and Satiah felt her throat went dry at the touch of the Queen. She felt an empty space in her heart, a space that can only be filled up by a mother's love. A space she thought she don't need to fill again as she was fine with it.
The Queen raised the crown up and closed her eyes, praying to the heavens before she placed it on the head of Satiah. The golden crown was like a snake with it head standing upright. Satiah smiled slightly, feeling the power the crown emitted, the power of superiority.
The third Queen smiled sweetly at her and led her by the hand to Queen Baketmut palanquin. The second Queen smiled at Satiah but Satiah knew she was just faking the smile. It wasn't a real one.
Satiah sat down opposite the Queen in the palanquin. Queen Baketmut kept staring at her and that made Satiah uncomfortable. She kept smiling back at the queen nervously, wondering why she was staring at her.
The Queen was impressed with the way Satiah stood up for herself when she was talking to her father and saw in her, someone who would be useful for her in the future. The new princess will definitely make a good partner, but first she has to win her to her side. Not only is she smart, but she saw determination and the hunger for power when Takhat placed the crown on her head. Just who she needs.
"I like you." the Queen suddenly said forcing Satiah to look at her. Satiah was taken aback by her sudden confession and so wondered why she had said that to her. "I will take you as my daughter if only you won't betray me. I see your inner motives and I must say, we have same thing in common. Let's just live in peace and get what we want." she added.
Satiah smiled inwardly and nodded in affirmation. Seeing the look on the Queen's face, she could tell the woman is hungry for power. Her eyes says it all. She looks greedy and selfish too.
The woman is the kind of person that will do everything for power and will do anything if she don't get that power she's looking for. Just like she said, they are both power driven.
Having someone like the second Queen as a partner will help her in her quest for the position of the queen Regnant. She will make the woman, make her marry the crown prince and get what she want.
She bowed to the queen and grinned, "I will not betray the queen. I will make sure to do everything possible to make her happy and proud of me." Satiah said. She was going to do everything possible to make sure she wins the Queen trust and use her for her own gain.
