Satiah groaned lowly as she heard his footstep behind her. The dude wasn't going to leave her so easily, what the heck is wrong with him? She turned and faced him, ready to knock his face off his neck but stopped herself. Who would want to hurt the cute face of the man standing before her with a sweet smile on his face?
She sat down and folded her arms beneath her bosom. "I told you I want to rest?"
"Don't you want to see me? I am your best friend remember?"
"I am not your best friend, your best friend is dead." she said in a low quiet voice but he heard what she said and the smile on his face disappeared as he looked at her confused at what she said.
Satiah felt she could tell him about it, she just had a feeling that she could trust the young man to let him in on her secret. Maybe he might help her find her way back to the future.
"My real name is Marie. I am from the future, about thousands of years in the future. The new world is different from here as we are advanced. I got hurt and when I woke up, I was in her body... You need to help me out of here."
The young man looked so confused as she spoke to him, wondering what she meant by not being Satiah but a different person.
"What do you mean by that?" he asked when he found his voice.
"You might not believe me but I will tell you everything later. I just need you to take me to the cave sorcerer cause only she has the answer I need right now, I will explain on the way." she said staring at his confused face, seriously. She prayed quietly that he will believe her and agree to take her there cause that is just what she needs at that moment.
Herneith walked in and bowed, "The royal families will be here very soon, I need to get you ready." she said wondering why there was tension in the room and why the two were quiet. Was Satiah up to something again?
She bowed at Aaru, "Master, I want to dress up the princess." He was really tensed and she could see it on his face. Aaru, stood up and slowly left the room with his eyes still on his best friend.
Herneith helped Satiah with her dress and led her out of the room.
....
The Queen, along with some palace officials were all seated on beautified thrones in the priest courtyard. While, Satiah's father (the chief priest) with Semat were seated on a mat in front of them.
"The pharaoh isn't with us. He left to go foresee the work going on at the gate wall in the desert. He sent some gifts for our soon to be daughter in law." she said and stretched forth her hand towards the chief priest and his wife who bowed. Two palace officials walked to them with trays filled with expensive ornaments, a golden bracelet, and a jar of perfume.
"They are really expensive." she said proudly. "Our daughter in law deserves more." she smiled broadly.
The chief priest collected the gifts and bowed at the proud Queen. Everyone know who the queen is, a very proud and cunning woman who would do everything to get what she desires. She is among the three wives of the Pharaoh and the mother of the crown prince.
"Where is she?" the Queen asked.
The door was opened and Satiah walked in with her maid beside her. She was oblivious of what was happening, but decided to act normal and just get over what it was about and go to the cave sorcerer.
Semat stood up and held her daughter's hand to where the Queen sat, "Bow to the Queen....."
Satiah raised her head and looked at the Queen amazed. Just like the way the queens in ancient Egyptian movies were dressed, was the same way she was dressed also. The queen was adorned with golden jewelries. On her head was the vulture crown which fit her black shoulder length hair.
Semat tapped her gently bringing her back from her assessing world.. "Bow to the queen." she whispered.
Satiah smiled, "I guess I must have gotten lost staring at your beauty, oh queen." she said and bowed. "You are the true definition of beauty."
The queen smiled, "I've heard a lot about you Satiah. And I most say, you truly are cheerful and my future daughter in law is more beautiful than the paintings I saw."
"Thanks for the compliment."
"I heard you were sick so I brought you gifts." The Queen said pointing at the gifts she brought.
Satiah looked at the gift and her eyes widened, it was pure gold. A really expensive gifts the queen brought.
"The bracelet is made from gold and was brought in from a different kingdom. Its really expensive and special. The perfume you see is the most expensive perfume in this kingdom. And the ornaments belongs to the Queen. But I want you to use them now. They are all rare and special."
"Thank you your majesty." she said.
The Queen left the priest courtyard after giving her message to the chief priest and his family.
Satiah left for her room thinking of a way to leave the courtyard. Knowing that she is to marry the crown prince, she knew she had to leave immediately before that happens. Marrying in the past might make her unable to go back to the future as she will be stuck with a man she don't know.
She walked into her room and fell on the bed with a loud groan. "My crazy life....." she sighed.
Semat walked in and smiled at her daughter who was unaware she was in the room with her. Her daughter who addressed the Queen was a different person. Satiah wasn't bold enough to address the Queen the way she did today, which got Semat wondering what happened to her. She sat down beside her daughter who was now aware that she was in her room, but looked at the window.
Semat brought out a little jar filled with fine white powder and dropped it beside the bed.
"You must be tired, dinner is ready, let's eat together then you take your medicine. The physician said you should take it to get your healthy self back." Satiah said nothing as her eyes never left the window. Semat sighed and looked down. "You hate medicine a lot. We always run after you, so you could take it when you were little." she laughed. "You were so little and precious. You will run around the courtyard. The chief priest will always get angry at you. You were my small little angel and now my angel is getting married soon." she said and a tear dropped down her cheek which she wiped immediately. "When I saw you laying lifeless on the bed, I almost lost my senses. The thought of my little angel leaving me gave me a heartache that I couldn't take. It's all my fault, I never cared to seat with you for a talk. I never cared to know how you felt. I was just concerned about the marriage and not my daughter. You took poison that almost killed you, how foolish of a mother I am." she cried. "My daughter is not happy with the marriage and I can't do anything about it. Forgive me my sweet girl." Semat stood up and cleaned her face. "You should eat," she added and left.
It must have being so hard for Semat, but Satiah wasn't bothered about it. She felt a bit sad for Semat but her own life is what she was more concerned for. The real Satiah is dead and they should take it that way. It's their fault anyway, they wanted to get their daughter married to the crown prince and because of that, her own life is involved.
She sat up and yawned. "I need a good meal." Aaru wasn't there yet, it wouldn't be bad if she gets something to eat.
