Sweating profusely, Satiah kept gasping for air while tilting her head. Her eyes were closed and her lips were parted. She kept struggling in her sleep, gasping for air.
With a loud gasp, she stared in her sleep, remaining in that position for some few minutes. She suddenly jerked off from her paralysis and coughed profusely, trying so hard to breath. Just when her breathing was going back to normal, a sharp pain in her head, made her scream loud. She fell back to the floor still screaming in pain. The pain she felt was excruciating. She wished it would just kill her, she couldn't stand it any more, it was too much for her.
She felt her blood flowing down from her nose, as she kept crying out loud. Her spirit went out and in a quick glitch. She gasped and slowly, everything went dark.
...
Satiah blinked and slowly opened her eyes to meet the worried eyes of Semat and Herneith staring at her. She wasn't in the dark room anymore but her room.
Semat hugged her crying out softly, "I was so worried about you. I thought you were gone forever this time."
"I need water." she said dryly. Her throat was so dry that she was sure her vocal cord will be removed if she don't take water.
What happened to her at the room was unexplainable. Everything happened so quickly and it was so painful. Nothing of that sort have ever happened to her while she was in the future, or could it be Satiah was sick and that was why she choose death over life? If that was it, then she will make sure she regrets her decision wherever she was.
She was helped to seat up and drank some water by the help of Herneith. She will have to see the sorcerer again to explain what happened to her.
"My daughter was so scared there in the dark room. You hate dark places so much and you must have wanted the world to end. I am so sorry my dear." Semat said gently as she wiped Satiah's tears. Satiah looked at the woman and felt a bit pained. Was she always treated like the way she had seen? Was Semat always regarded as a liability because she's a woman?
She reminded her of her mother. Before her parent divorced, her father always takes advantage of every little thing mom do and punish her, enjoying every bit of her pain. She was so tired with every thing he did and divorced him, forgetting to go with her daughter, so she thought.
"I need to inform your father," Semat said and left the room.
Semat walked towards her husband room, grief-stricken and her face wet from tears. The chief priest was sitting on his bed with his hands on his thighs and his legs crossed, looking peeved. He was staring at the window but seems to be out of thought. She came in and stood in front of him with her head down, both of them in silence.
"How is she?" the chief priest asked, finally breaking the silence. Semat looked up, surprised at the fact that he asked about Satiah. Has he finally realized how bad he has been treating his daughter, or he just wants to know if she is alive, so he can continue with his Ill-treatment?
"How is she?" he asked again, this time staring at her.
"She is awake now. She asked of you."
He sighed and stood up, "She won't be able to leave this court any longer. My guards will watch her every move until her marriage in three days." he looked at her, "You should talk to your daughter.... there should be peace in this house. She is getting really rebellious."
Semat pursed her lips in disappointment. She thought he finally realized his mistake and cares about his daughter. But the chief priest wouldn't change anytime soon. She bowed bowed and left the room.
Herneith noticed the angry face of her princess and felt bad for her, knowing she was angry with her father. She don't have a father and she is happy with her life, but Satiah have a father and everyday is filled with pain for her.
She pursed her lips and placed back the local medicines on her tray.
"Herneith." Satiah called, still looking down as she have being doing since Semat left the room.
Herneith faced her and bowed, "Yes princess."
"Tell me more about the marriage. I have forgotten a lot and only seem to remember that I am going to marry the prince and how frustrated I have being." she requested.
"As you wish your highness." Herneith dropped the tray and sat down. "Right from the day you were born, you were chosen by the gods to be the next destined queen. The Queen Regnant. The Queen Regnant rules alongside the Pharaoh and are the most powerful among the other queens. Being the Queen Regnant means you will have a lot of power to change and unchanged somethings in Egypt and wouldn't be questioned by anyone."
Satiah looked at her, interested at what she said, "So you mean I will become the next Queen Regnant and I'll have a lot of power like you said?"
"Yes princess."
Satiah raised the corners of her lips satisfied at what she heard. The only good news she have heard for a year both in the future and past. She will have a lot of power to rule Egypt once she becomes Queen Regnant and she will make sure of it. She will marry the crown prince and earn her way to the throne of the Queen Regnant. The deities wouldn't have a choice but to take her away from the past when they see how wicked she will be.
Like she said, the world will get to feel the emotions they made her feel. Whether the past or presence. She will change her destiny.
