I should have known that Emily was going to be a problem.
She had done nothing but give me crap since the day I came to Sonny’s pack, and now she had betrayed them all. The whole entire pack was at risk without having the Alpha Stone present.
Sonny’s angry roar filled the air. Word got out quickly within the ranks to find her, but at the end of the day, I had no doubt that she was already with the Cross Pack.
“Sonny, we know where she is going,” I told him softly as he stared listlessly out the window. “There is no doubt that war is coming, and we have to be prepared for it.”
Sonny turned slowly toward me. His eyes cast down to my own before he kissed the top of my head. I sighed as his anger dissipated.
“I know,” he said. “We have to figure out what to do next.”
