Have you ever held something back for so long that, when you finally let yourself touch the emotions, it overwhelms you?
The pain and agony of everything that was happening around me was more than I could bear.
I felt the pain surging within me as I stared at Helen’s lifeless body. I didn’t understand why she had done what she did. My heart ached with loss, and, at the same time, burned with the desire to avenge her.
Helen had betrayed me in the end, but before that, she had raised me. She had been a mother to me, and now, with her gone, I felt lost.
As my eyes slowly slid back up to Hannah, I saw her running at me once more and launching herself at me.
I stepped quickly to the side. As I did so, I drew out my wolf’s claws only, slicing against her fur as she moved past me. My movements were too fast for her. She landed upon her paws, a small howl leaving her snout as she spun around to look at me.
