Unfortunately, Valis and Folarin's testimony wasn't enough to grant me the job. The owner of the place wanted many different things. At first, he kept insisting on seeing my face, then he wanted some sort of reliable resume, some documents that were in the envelope Forren gave us, and he wanted to see whether I was joking or not when I mentioned aura capabilities.
"All right, I'll show you my face, but can we do it in a more private place?" I asked.
"I don't see why. If you're going to work here one day or another, they will see your face eventually." He answered.
'What a dumb answer… *sigh* Do we really need that extra money?'
But then the image of Valis wearing a somewhat skimpy outfit popped up in my head, and I immediately started removing the mask.
As soon as the mask was off, I heard most of them gasping in surprise.
