'I couldn't have done anything to stop that.'
I thought to myself, sat on top of the kitchen counter with a random pack of cigarettes that had survived my wife's watchful eye in my hands. It only had a couple of cigarettes left.
'Why did I run away?'
I then took out my lucky lighter, which was a small lighter in the shape of a small recording device. But no matter how much I tried, it just wouldn't light up.
'Why?'
I was ready. I waited more than ten years for that moment. I closed my eyes to everything that happened around me and allowed those bastards to toy with my life for ten miserable years just to run away during the day so I could finally achieve what I always wanted.
'Why?' I asked myself.
'Why?' I kept asking.
'Why?' No matter how many times I asked myself, I couldn't find an appropriate answer.
Recalling those events was confusing, many questions flooded my head, but I couldn't answer any of them.
