In Elrod estate
Tirus put on an invisibility spell on himself and made his way into his mother's room.
His mother was sitting on the chair she always sat on, looking outside through the window.
'Tirus, I am coming to meet you, I do not think I will live long too.' Elena thought as she closed her eyes.
"Lady Elena, are you here?!" Lyle shouted as she suddenly rushed into the room.
Her bodyguard, Lyle, was standing guard outside the room. Years of experience had sharpened her senses and she felt that someone had entered the place.
'Eh…what is happening?' She thought, confusion filled her mind along with a multitude of other questions, but...
―Thud
Lyle, all of a sudden, fell unconscious.
Tirus appeared infront of the unconscious Lyle as he cancelled the invisibility spell.
"Ti...Tirus, is that you?" Elena's body trembled as she stpod up, shouting at the top of her lungs.
Her breathing became irratic as she rushed towards him.
"What is this? A dream?" Elena asked as she slowly started walking towards him.
"You...were a good parent." Tirus murmured as he looked at her.
She was the only person whom Tirus had made any worthwhile connection with. But that wouldn't stop him from doing what was needed.
He performed handseals and soon, Elena started feeling her mind cooling down and her eyelids becoming heavy.
It was not long before she fell unconscious as well.
"Hah!" Purple light filled the room as a symbol appeared on both Tirus's and her forehead.
"Alhabsha..." Tirus chanted in a low tone, which somehow reverberated in the entire room.
Chains manisfested themselves around both of them, and soon, cracks started to appear on them.
This process took a long time.
2 hours later,
Tirus put the unconscious Elena on the bed and Lyle on the chair and exited the room.
'I've broken the connection with father and mother, now for my brother and other relatives."
Once the ties were broken, their memories about him and also the events before this process would start becoming incredibly hazy, and there would come a point where even thinking about him would become diffucult for them, but it was fine, that was what he came here for.
They wouldn't even remember what was done to them tonight, but this was all fine.
....
"Shit, shit, shit, what's happening?!" Evan screamed with tears rolling down the corners of his eyes as he looked at the man infront of him.
"Damn it! Who the even sent you here?!" Evan couldn't hold his emotions any longer as he started screaming non-stop.
He was sleeping just a minute ago, and now? An unknown man inside his room with such powerful presence. Anyone would loose control over their emotions in such a situation.
"Calm down, brother." The man in black robe.
He stood infront of Evan and took off his hood, revealing a man with curly black hair.
"Big...brother, you are still alive?" Evan felt as if his world had been turned upside down.
"Yes, why? Are you disappointed?" Tirus asked with a wide smile on his face as he inched closer to Evan.
"N-no brother, why would I?"
Tirus's smile disppeared, replaced with an expressionless face.
Tirus appeared behind him.
"Do not worry, no one is going to kill you."
Tirus let out a sliver of his spirtual force and a thread manisfested itself.
In the other hand, he hand a tiny locket, shining in a dim green light.
Evan felt that his legs were going to give in any second now.
―Thud
He fell on the floor, and was met with his elder brother's gaze.
"I am going to let you be the family head, you need to manage things properly. Also, take care of father and mother." Tirus said slowly.
"I will, I will, but please tell me what are you doing!" Evan, with tears in his eyes, asked.
"Nothing much, first I will break our karmic ties, don't worry, its not painful.
Second, I will tie you and this locket with this thread you see here. With this, only you will be able to use this as a magical tool and for others, this will simply become an ordinary obejct.
This locket has your new adviser in it. Basically, what I have done is that I have put a special mental energy crystal and did some modifications here and there. It will absorb your mental energy from time to time and use it to prepare solutions of the problems you want to solve, oh also, the solutions will directly be sent to your mind.
Oh, and did I tell you that you can give its ownership to your descendants once you die?
Anyways, I will not give this to you just now, but after a few days, once you have completely forgotten about this night's events, you will recieve it in a way that would not bring up the suspicion of others."
"I would have called it a gift from myself to you, but I have used a spell to purify its connections with me. So it won't create any karmic connection between you and me in the future as well."
A wry smile appeard on Tirus's face as he thought about the amount of spiritual force that process had required and the lifespan he lost in doing so.
The wry smile disappeared soon, "Then, let's start the process."
"Wait!" Evan said as loud as he could, with all the courage he had, asked Tirus, "Why are you telling me all this if I am going to forget about tonight?"
A frown appeared on Tirus's face as he said, "Don't be so selfish brother, I wanted to talk to you for the last time, anyways..."
After an hour,
Infront of the unconscious Evan.
Tirus exited the Elrod place, flying high above while casting a concealment spell on himself.
He looked at the brilliant night sky and then the Elrod castle.
"Now, the other relatives...never really met them, but hey, may still have karmic ties with them, although not very strong. This work can be finished tonight."
A few days later, the Duke Elrod and his wife stopped mourning for their eldest son's death and slowly returned to their normal lives. Their younger son, Evan Van Elrod, became the new family head.
He had a peculiar locket which shone in a green light. It was rumoured that he found it in his family's basement, once he discovered it, everything turned better for him. Soon, his leadership skills also improved by a lot. Although many thought that it was a legendary magical item, but Evan insisted that it was only a good luck charm.
