Leaving New York because of his stepbrother was undoubtedly an act of cowardice, and he wasn't a coward.
However, from the other angle of this idea, he could finally be free from the shackles of Carl's stupid delusion that he wanted to prove a point.
"So, what would it be, Mr. Leo? Are you going to take the bold step or not?" Steven asked, staring at Leo, who was still conflicted with his thoughts.
"Well, from all indications, I have no choice but to go with the safer option" That was the best move he could make in such a critical scenario like this one.
