Jessica tried to call out, shouting at the top of her voice, "Hello! Is anyone there?" But there wasn't even a single response.
"It's of no use, baby girl. I need you to stop shouting so I can think," a man's voice said.
"Okay," Jessica answered immediately, not even hesitating. She knew that he was the only person she could trust right now. Considering that she didn't even know where her mother lived and she wouldn't want to go back to her anyway, she had no other options. Her mother would force her to marry that man again, which was not something she wanted to do.
