"Baby, I'm so happy I found you. Mr Gonzalez promised he'd save you and he has.'' Mrs Heyman run up to Jessica, hugging her. She held her tightly, crying on her shoulder. "Don't worry, that ciminal cannot keep you enslaved anymore.''
For a moment, Jessica eased into the familiar warmth of being held by her mother. But then, her words sunk in.
"Mr Gonzalez? I don't want his help mom. I don't want anything to do.''
"Don't say that baby. He's willing to look past all your rebellion without punishment. He still wants to marry you. He sees your value. All you have to do is keep your head down and listen to him.''
"Why?''
"What do you mean why? Don't question me, I'm your mother.'' She answered in a harsh tone. "Besides, Jessica, you have no idea the hell I've been through these past few weeks looking for you. I thought I was going to die. I was so scared something bad happened to you.''
