7:35 a.m., Taimadou Academy Dormitory, Akane and Rin's dorm room
"Thanks for the meal."
Akane and Rin simultaneously spoke. The one who had cooked them breakfast today was Rin. They cook breakfast on a daily rotation. Rin tended to prepare heavier meals, while Akane preferred lighter ones. Today they ate a hearty meal of rice with leftover curry from dinner. He added various assortments of vegetables to it.
They both stood up from the table and went to their respective bedrooms to get ready. A few minutes later, they met in the living room. Today, Rin was not the first one in the living room, as he specially made more effort.
Akane certainly did not fail to notice that his hair was tidier than usual and laughed internally. It did not need to be mentioned that she felt happy as well.
They both put their socks and shoes on and opened the door.
"Good morning, Rin, Akane."
In front of their door was Mihiro, Rin's girlfriend.
"Hi, Mihiro, good morning."
Akane greeted Mihiro. Meanwhile, Rin seemed to be fidgeting behind Akane.
"What are you, Rin, a love-struck teenage girl?"
Akane, noticing Rin scurrying around, slapped his back, making him come face-to-face with Mihiro.
"Morning… Mihiro."
Rin showed slight redness on his cheeks. He was not the only one, as Mihiro also appeared nervous. Akane felt like this was too much sugar to take early in the morning, so she left them on their own.
The two remaining did not even realize that Akane had left as they were mindlessly looking at each other.
