7:48 a.m., Taimadou Academy, Main Campus
Akane ultimately decided to leave the two young couples to one another and proceeded to the school building alone.
As she was walking alone, she spotted Hijiri and Fuka together. Behind them was Hana at a distance. Akane approached them.
"Hey Hijiri, Fuka, Hana, good morning."
"Hi, Akane."
Hijiri was the first one who replied, following the other two. Akane didn't fail to notice something off with Fuka however, as she was mumbling while fidgeting around. Akane understood what the problem was.
"Fuka, do you want to ask about something?"
She hit the bullseye.
Fuka diverted her eyes sideways. After a while, she looked at Akane with gained resolve and asked her a question.
"What happened… last night?"
It seems that she was referring to the incident with Rin and Mihiro.
"The good news is that nothing sexual happened… according to what I heard. The bad news is…"
Fuka was nervously waiting for Mihiro's response but was reluctant to hear it. She had a premonition that it was going to be something bad.
"…that they are currently dating."
"Huh?"
The three's thoughts were muddled. They both have only met for a day, but already started dating, that was too much of a stretch.
"Are you serious Akane?"
Fuka wore a firm expression while questioning her. It was a life-and-death equivalent of a situation to her.
"Why would I joke about this to you of all people, Fuka?"
"So, you were serious…"
Fuka was thinking deeply to herself. Meanwhile, Hijiri and Hana were confused.
"Wasn't yesterday the first time the two met?"
"Yes, that's why even I'm confused."
Akane is known to be the most rational thinker among their group since they were little but even this much was hard for her to comprehend.
"Even so, there was nothing much we could do now, Rin's not the type to change his mind easily."
Hijiri was very close to Rin so he knew his tendencies. He always had something at the back of his mind. In a sense, it was very hard to decipher him.
"Fuka, don't let it get to you. You should act like normal."
Hijiri gave her some of his brotherly advice.
"Thanks, brother."
