Chapter 3 - Fate of Humanity

"Last night, what did Director Brad say to you? Try to remember exact words, and answer me." At the meeting, a physicist stated.

"I..." Alex regained his composure and said, slightly bitterly: "Director Brad found me after I got off work on Friday and said he'd take me to open my eyes... Director Brad told me to sit down, order food... and then drink when we arrived at the restaurant on the top floor of the Century Building. He inquired about my recent activities and if I had any suggestions. After a while, Director Brad brought up the subject of how small human civilization is. superior…"

Next to him was a clerk who was quickly taking down what Alex had said. The clerk did not interrupt Alex's recollection and continued to record in silence. The clerk checked the records after Alex finished speaking and then asked: "What did Director Brad say when you and he left the institute and went to the underground parking lot? "The weather is nice today," he said. Or "it's a nice day today"?"

"The weather is nice today," Alex said after a brief recollection.

"How many times did Director Brad lament the traffic jam on the way to the Century Building?"

"Three times," says the narrator. Alex paused for a moment before responding.

Alex has a fantastic memory. Alex even won the memory contest championship in college. Alex was able to recall every detail of last night as a result of this.

"Are you sure Director Brad didn't say something like "come in and sit down" before he went home and shut the door?"

Alex replied, "No."

"Okay, this is the entire transcript of your conversation. Check for any errors or omissions "said the clerk.

Alex took over the files, quickly scanned them, and declared, "No omissions."

"Remember to report to Virat at any time if you have any new ideas. During this time, Virat, you will be following Alex." "said the old man."

"Yes." Virat uttered a single word.

There was a knock on the conference room door at this time. A person dressed as a secretary with gold-rimmed glasses walked in after obtaining consent.

"The results of the paper test have been released, sir. This is just a regular A4 sheet of paper. It hasn't been processed in any way after it's been made, and it's free of any invisible agents. Experts in cryptography haven't learned anything from the distribution of paper fibers, indentation, and so on. Obtain any useful information about the specifics. The paper was purchased three months ago from a general office supply store and was made by a forestry company known as "Liftoff." The same batch of paper produced a total of six tons in one hundred and fifty-two days, five tons entered the market, one ton was sealed, and 4.5 tons were recovered from the five tons that flowed into the market. The remaining 0.5 tons were sent to the purchasers' homes and the garbage transfer center to continue the search. This batch of paper has been contacted by a total of 3,070 people, and all background investigations have been completed... So far, we haven't discovered anything useful."

"Organize a psychological expert group to conduct an immediate psychological investigation into Brad, while also gathering experts from various fields to conduct immediate analysis and research on all of the research materials that Brad has left behind and all of the items with which he has come into contact. He knew why Brad committed suicide, why he had foreseen the disaster and refused to warn Alex, why he chose to commit suicide before the disaster occurred, and why he should leave Alex with a blank sheet of paper... In addition, Brad How did Qi foresee this disaster, what unique research did Brad have on current solar changes, and, most importantly, did Brad have a solution to the crisis? If that's the case, what is the solution?"

"At the same time, call a meeting of relevant scientists from across the alliance to investigate the changes in the sun."

In a calm tone, the old man gave unquestionable orders. "Alex, starting today, to a certain extent, the fate of mankind... is in your hands," the old man said, rubbing his temples a little tiredly and looking at Alex.
