Chapter 7 - Intent behind the white paper

Hearing Sofia's remarks, Alex was a little embarrassed: "I am willing to dedicate everything I have to the cause of mankind, but I still don't know what is special about me, and I don't know why your brother will put the last relic Leave it to me."

"What my brother said can't go wrong." Sofia said, took out a pen and paper from her bag, wrote a series of numbers on the paper and handed it to Alex: "This is my contact information. If you If there is anything you want to know from me, feel free to contact me."

"Okay. Thank you." Alex took the note and nodded.

When the meeting finally came to an end, Alex left the venue under the guidance of the service staff. Alex knew that this was an important meeting that might change the fate of the entire human race, but it was precisely because of its importance that Alex was not qualified to participate.

This meeting is only a general, strategic level meeting, which basically does not involve specific matters. After this meeting, the relevant departments will hold numerous internal meetings to determine action methods, and several joint meetings will be held later, but this has nothing to do with Alex.

In the afternoon is Brad's memorial service. During the memorial service, Alex met Sofia again. But this time the two didn't talk, but just nodded to each other and said hello.

Standing in the mourning hall, looking at Brad's corpse wearing the Union flag and covered with flowers, and looking at the black and white photo, Alex felt a very illusory feeling for some unknown reason.

The fate of mankind has undergone a complete change. At this moment, countless relevant personnel are busy meeting this change, but Alex has always been away from this business. After a moment of loss, Alex bowed to Brad's body and left the mourning hall.

Alex and Virat returned home together. Before opening the door, Alex said to Virat, "Can you go somewhere else first? I want to be alone."

Virat shook his head, and coldly spit out two words: "No."

"Why?" Alex was startled, "Are you monitoring me?"

"No." Virat said, "For your safety, I must follow you at any time. If you die like Brad, none of us can bear the consequences."

Alex sighed and said, "Okay."

Alex pushed open the door and walked in together with Virat. Virat said again: "If you want to be alone, I can make you not see me."

"How can I not see you?"

"Yes." Virat nodded, walked straight to the balcony, and then disappeared. Alex also walked over, opened the curtains, but saw that there was no one on the balcony. Alex was shocked, and immediately raised his head, looked at the ceiling, and looked behind him, but he didn't see Virat.

Virat seems to have disappeared. But Alex knew that Virat must still be at his home. As for what method Virat used to hide, Alex did not have much curiosity in his heart. To become a first-level agent of the Alliance Security Department, and to make the old man so highly regarded, there will always be some abilities beyond ordinary people's imagination.

Alex didn't go to find Virat, but sat on the sofa, poured himself a glass of apple juice, but didn't drink it. Instead, he lay down on the sofa and stared at the dark TV opposite.

Alex was carefully recalling every detail of his past relationship with Brad, recalling every word he had said with Brad, trying to find some clues from it. But unfortunately, Alex's long-term thinking did not yield a result. So Alex changed his way of thinking and turned to think about this issue from other aspects.

"For the time being, I don't care why Director Brad chose me... Let's think about this first. Why did he leave me a blank sheet of paper? What does a blank sheet of paper mean? Why does he know everything but say nothing?"

"If you think about it from an ordinary person's point of view, Director Brad has no motives to hide all this. After all, this is a major matter related to the life and death of all human beings. As a normal human being, Brad's normal approach should be the first to hear the news. It was announced at once, seeking the power to solve the problem from the entire human alliance. But he did not do so... Does this mean that it is not that Brad is unwilling to announce this news, but because there is some unknown the existence of power makes it impossible for Director Brad to announce it, but can only convey all these things covertly through a blank metaphor such as a blank piece of paper?"
