Chapter 6 - Chapter five.

Awakening the lightning element.

Your name and age, the senior student registering on the desk seven remained aloof and yet very composed. She smiled only where necessary and kept an aloof personality where else. Although she remained put, when people of her sort came to sight, she always wilded a smile at them.

Am Raman Clain, aged 14 and from Almain village.

Another person from the same Almain! As though missing something, she looked up at Raman something she hadn't done all this long. Though she had now registered a good number by now, none of them had made her look up at them yet she was carefully scrutinizing Raman by now.

Startled, he tried to refrain from himself least be told not to awaken his first magic element. If that were to happen, he would have to miss the opportunity of owning an artifact that all the world's experts are yearning for from that old feller.

But the next question from her even left Raman in a total maze.

Wait, as though recalling something, she questioned, did you say your name is Clain and from Almain village?

Yes, am Raman Clain from Almain village.

As though pondering over it, she looked up at him again then returned her for us to the desk to jot down his description. This was a rare opportunity for her mentor as he had always instructed her to join the registration team at the awakening hall in search of the Clains. He knew they would once show up and yet it only took her this short period of three years to get the target. Even the heavens were by her side now. so how would she end up failing with such a tremendous amount of luck?

Snapping back to reality, a smile manifested on her face clearly startling the young Clain.

If memory serves me right, she hasn't smiled all this long yet now her face is brimming with smiles, and in the worst case, her smile is creepy.

As though done with the registration details, she looked up again before telling him to continue to the altar.

Then, what about the gold coin?

Didn't you say your name is Clain and from Almain village?

She has to repeat the same question again. What's with my identity to her and how does it relate to the gold coin for my first magic awakening? Raman thought to himself.

Yes, but what has it got to do with the gold coin that I must pay for my first magic element awakening?

Don't worry, just walk to the altar and do awaken your first element. She said in an all far different tone from her aloof manner that she was displaying a few minutes back then.

Things don't look the way they seem now. What made her change this much in no time?

Although he looked puzzled, Raman found this off the bench yet he still had it to hold as the one benefiting from this. He would retain his gold coin and still awaken for free, that was a gold coin something that his dad could only get once every after consecutive two months. Since it was the highest currency used, many families only used copper bars or stones for the whole of their lives and getting to see gold was like having reached heaven while on earth.

With this a thought, Raman walked steadily to the altar just after putting away his gold coin. Since they won't charge me with anything for now, why not just go with the flow. I will have to ask dad about this when we are done.

He walked with troubled thoughts heading to the awakening stone yet when a few feet to the awakening stone, someone stood his way more like a mountain amidst the road cutting off all means of transport.

The young lad before him was dressed in pure white silk with a white fan in his right hand that he flang with total silence. His black neatly arranged hair fell off his back and his scent was a collection of rare flowers of the wild. With his acord, it was certain that he was no one play. For one to afford such luxury meant he was no ordinary folk for him to mess with.

That awakening stone is to be used by me do you have any objections?

Seeing his accord, Raman walked to the eighth awakening stone instead. He was not here to make life difficult for himself but to enlighten his understanding of magic. If he were to stand on the bad side of a person this, how would he live then in this huge strange city with comfort?

Seeing him walk away like a buttered. lamb, a creepy smile appeared on the young lad's face. This is it. He had to make sure all people acknowledged his presence wherever he went.

Turning to the awakening stone, he put his white fan away before calming himself to continue with the awakening. Although he wanted to awaken alone at first, he was advised to lay low and stay put before his second uncle the city lord.

Raman walked to the awakening stone with mixed thoughts. At first, he thought he would be rejected by the guy standing to read and jot down his awakening details as he never once paid the required gold coin yet all his assumptions came to a stop the moment he stepped near the awakening stone. The guy said nothing except telling him that they had to mind time.

With this, he walked in hast and calmed himself before putting his arms on the awakening stone.

At first, the awakening stone remained dull as though he never once placed his hands on it. This scared Raman to the wits. He had to pass this awakening test if he were to get that great artifact yet the stone had to stay aloof the moment he laid his hands on it.

As Mr. Clain was all eyes clean on him, he noticed this and so were the rest. He should be able to awaken his magic as his starts clearly marked it as a complete success but what is with this reaction.

As he was still fidgeting with his awakening, the young master looked at him with all smiles he was not pleased with him the moment he noticed that he was close to the beauty that attracted his eyes then and for that, he decided to mess with the both of them as he sent his henchman before and then he intercepted Raman this time. His thoughts were clear. In case they engaged him, he would use it as an excuse to give them a sounding beating yet they all kept calm and never fell for his scheme in the first place.

Calming himself, he stretched his arms in a calm manner then placed them on the awakening stone in an instant, the temperature around him rose as though it was in a race with the surrounding air in the hall.

The initially blue-black awakening stone was now crimson red with a heat weave a few feet distance around it.

Amazing, the senior student in charge of overseeing the results exclaimed at once. Knowing who the person before him was, he dared not trigger a time bomb on his own head and declared in no time. Superior grade.

Feeling great, he walked to the eighth awakening stone position to count the young lad there for his bad luck yet before he could even reach the place, he was dumbstruck by what his eyes were now seeing.

Raman held his hands off the awakening stone as it had failed to react to his touch. Did this prove he lacked the potential to wild magic? In this world that only magic ruled, if he were to fail this awakening then what will he achieve with such luck in life?

Seeing him drenched in his thoughts, the one in charge of jotting down the eighth queue results called out to him before giving him hints of here and there.

Just stay calm and try again.

With this, Raman counted three going to zero as he calmed down. Closing his eyes, he began thinking and hearing only what he yearned to hear then slowly placed his hands on the awakening stone. Then everyone in the hall gasped.

It was at this time that the young master was walking his away freezing in the middle of the way to his actions.

Here I was thinking I was blessed to be high in this hall today yet this had to happen in the same group I am awakening with? This will end up making me inferior to him and still awakening the strongest and most rare element. Say my fire is now a mediocre with him around.
